The one bedroom villa we stayed in was spacious with lots of amenities: plasma TV, W/D, fully equiped kitchen (no coffee filters). It was very clean, easy walk to the beach and Grand Pavilion.

The resort is wonderful and very family-friendly. We stayed in a 2-bedroom villa and couldn't have been more pleased with the spacious accommodations - diningroom, livingroom, full kitchen, laundry, two bedrooms and 2 full baths! Our villa was about a 5 minute walk to the ocean but we could have used their ride service to shuttle around anywhere within the resort. The beach is beautiful and well-kept with food/drinks close by. They have security at the gate to keep out anyone who is not a registered guest or owner of property in the resort. We did see an alligator in the canal behind our villa but they do warn guests about this - I wouldn't go walking off the paths or next to the canals. There really is so much to do at the resort - golf, tennis, swimming in the many pools or ocean, restaurants (from upscale to deli), biking, etc. - that you don't really need to ever leave. Of course, so close to Charleston it is a simple 10 minute drive to go to the Battery and Old Market.

We reserved a two bedroom villa on the beach, but instead was given a three bedroom villa on the marsh. However, this was a recently refurbished villa and was very comfortable and beautiful. There were three of us and we each had our own bath. The master bedroom was very comfortable and the villa was a pleasant surprise. The beach was a short 10 minute walk away.

We stayed in Mariner's Walk, a cluster of villas. Our villas included 2 bdrm, 2 baths, dining and living rooms, kitchen, and a screened porch. The pool was right outside the door, and the beach just over the dunes. The grounds are beautiful. In late May, it is quiet and restful. We will be back.

we stayed in a condo in port o call and it was exactly as advertised on the website. we got an oceanfront room and it was both clean and comfortable. we stayed there on our honeymoon and would highly reccommend taking a night off from the Charleston scene and enjoying the dining and drinks the resort has to offer. one of our favorite nights was getting drinks on the boardwalk and going for dinner at one of the resort restaraunts.

We stayed at a perfect little one bedroom villa near the ocean - I shouldn't say little. For one bedroom we had a ton of room - the couches and king size bed were extra comfortable, and the kitchen was equiped to handle any food you wanted to prepared, though we always ate out. The short walk to the beach was well landscaped and the beach was amazing. I found several whole shells and a whole sand dollar. The drive through the resort was beautiful and let you know you were staying first class... you want relaxation this is your hotel - you want action, it is a very easy to navigate short trip into Charleston. Definitely will return.

My husband and I rented a one bedroom villa near the beach. Part of me just knew it would be a dump, but boy, was I wrong! The entire villa was beautifully decorated and very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, cutlery, plates, glasses, coffee maker, blender, and toaster. We enjoyed eating breakfast each morning at the villa and using the kitchen whenever we wanted. The bedroom was very nice with a king size bed and a fairly nice bathroom (a little small, but that's ok). The screened in porch was great for morning coffee and some quiet time. Probably my favorite thing about the villa was that while it had the ammenities of a condo, the cleaning staff came each day, cleaned the kitchen, and supplied fresh towels. The best of both worlds! My only complaint was that the temperature of the villa was 79 degrees when we got there, which was very uncomfortable while we were unloading our belongings into the villa and waiting for it to cool down. Other than that, I would highly recommend Wild Dunes to anyone--especially people with families.

We really liked Wild Dunes. Make sure you stay at the hotel rather than the villas (condos) unless you have kids or dogs. The resort was nice but laid back, so do not expect white glove treatment, but it was great all the same. WE did not golf or play tennis, but that stuff looked awesome. We did try all of the restaurants and they were good. We biked, rented kayaks, and hung out by the pool by the beach, called the Grand pavilion. We thought it was a great resort.

I love this resort. It is beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. I have traveled many places and I have stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world but for overall service, relaxation, and ease the Boardwalk Inn stays at the top of my favorites list. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bedding is excellent as well as the mattresses. This is very important to me. The bathroom ammenities are some of the best I have tried. I had a massage and in the spa and it was wonderful as well. I always enjoy the in room breakfast. It obvious they only use the best ingredients as well as fresh orange juice. Everything is top of the line and it shows! I highly reccommend it for every season!

I was extremely disappointed that the staff did not ensure a special gift was not delivered to our room. I was sent a surprise anniversary gift basket purchased by a friend from the hotel's gift store. The purchaser was assured by the staff the basket would be delivered, but we never received it. I cannot attribute this error to a busy hotel since this was off-season and there were maybe 50 guests at the resort. Very poor basic service!

Since these units are personally owned, you don't know for sure what you will get. However, we moved to an absolutely beautiful unit that overlooked the beach. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to stay. The staff was cooperative in making the change. I would stay there again.

We recently spent a few days at Wild Dunes - too few since we ended up leaving early due to Hurricane Ophelia which threatened the Charleston area. We stayed in a villa, near oceanfront, which was very nice, comfortable, and roomy. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly. Unfortunately, there were many things we didn't get to do. Would've loved to ride bikes all thru the resort - the landscaping, etc. is beautiful. Wild Dunes is a bit of a drive from some of the sights in Charleston, but it is easy to get around worth the trip. We'll plan to return!

So,we had to wait 20 minutes for a maintenance person to bring us another key. 2. When we were finally able to enter our unit we discovered that they had given us a 1 bedroom oceanview condo instead of a 2 bedroom oceanview villa3. After 30 minutes on the phone with the receptionist we were upgraded to a 3 bedroom ocean front villa. All in all we had to wait 1.5 hours before getting into our accommodations. so beware!!!!!!
