| Our room was roomy and had what we needed but needs to be updated with new carpet and air conditioning. For the price in the city of DC it was worth it.

| We found the front desk extremely polite & helpful all during the stay. Location worked out great and was nice to be off the beaten path. 1 block to metro & so close to capital was handy. Not any extras, all basic - but we had everything we needed. Good for budget family. Breakfast worked out great. Stayed in 2nd bldg which we preferred. Hotel even returned left stuffed dog which was found the next day!

| We did not get the room we asked for, ended up with a roll away that took more space in a room that's already small, the faucet in the shower dripped 24/7, facility was old. Nice continental breakfast, convenient to the subway. Overall, not worth the price we paid for.

| Just a couple of blocks from the Capitol and a block from the metro - this location is hard to beat for access to the Mall and the museums. Combine that with the free breakfast and you get great value. The rooms are somewhat dated, however. Some of the cabinet doors in the kitchen were coming off, wall plates missing on outlets, etc; in general, the hotel shows its age. This was compensated by the genuinely friendly staff.

| This hotel is located in a residential neighborhood a couple of blocks off the southeast corner of the Mall. The Capitol Building, American Indian Museum, and Air & Space Museum are within walking distance, and a metro station is a short block away. The rooms were a bit small for a "suite" hotel, but they were clean and comfortable. We stayed for a week and were very happy with the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and its convenience. There are a few good restaurants around the corner if you are too tired to venture further in the evening, and their continental breakfast rates highly with us because it offers protein (hard-boiled eggs) along with the usual carbs (pastries, bagels, cereal).

| We just got back from a 1 week vacation to Washington DC. We were very pleased with Capitol Hill Suites---GREAT location [2 blocks from Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress; one block from Metro station] in a very safe neighborhood with lots of good local restaurants and pubs. The staff was very helpful when we needed anything, like directions to attractions, recommendations on restaurants, or just extra towels. They have a good Continental breakfast which saved us a lot on meals in a town where dining out is expensive. Our room was large and the furnishings comfortable. Not all rooms have Internet access but the hotel has a wireless network you can access for free from the lobby. My wife & I would stay there again, for sure!!!!!

| Nice hotel. Good location. Just one block away from Capital South Metro station. Several restaurants, bars, and convenience stores just a few blocks away. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable Just one complaint. The Junior Suite is really not a suite, just one big room with a closet and bathroom.

| A nice place for tourists or business people close to the capitol. This is an old building which is on the one hand charming and on the other a little rundown or outdated. Very close to a metro station. Services offered were basic but what was offered was done well. More than your average continental breakfast offerings.

| When we booked the hotel we were concerned because it appeared to have relatively low ratings, but it was a reasonable cost in a convenient location (across the street from Capitol and Metro). We found it to be comfortable, roomy, clean, more than adequate for our needs. It is not opulent or posh, but it is completely functional and we were pleasantly surprised. I would highly recommend this hotel for its value and location.

| This is a quaint "old-city" experience. It is one block from the Metro, just two blocks from the Supreme Court, and close to all of the action. It is walking distance to Eastern Market, a very wonderful part of DC. I love it there and will stay as often as possible. There is no pool, I don't think, so staying with younger kids might not be as positive an expereince as it could be.

| The Capitol HIll Suites has one big plus - it's very close to the Mall attractions. However, if you are traveling with your family, the rooms are cramped, amenties are few, and the rooms are heated/cooled with a one pipe system...which means the 84 degree weather we had was spent with open windows at night, as the hotel had the heat on, and wasn't ready to change over to A/C for the season. And you can't turn the heat all the way off.... We stayed out of our suite as much as possible during the trip... On the plus side, there was a corner grocery about two blocks away - which would have great to pick up a few perishable items - except our (very small) fridge didn't get cold enough to cool anything. We needed to wash some clothes in their laundry room, which was conveniently located - but unfortunately, after two hours and many quarters, we gave up on trying to dry anything. The hotel was very helpful and allowed us to use their commercial in house dryer. Would have been unnecessary had the coin operated dryers actually worked. Stay if you must, or aren't with little ones, but consider other options if possible.

| This hotel was converted from an apartment house. The rooms are comfortable, though not very attractive. They do have a fridge, microwave and coffee brewer, as well as good internet access for $10 a day extra. The free cold breakfast is adequate. The staff is friendly and helpful. The best part of this hotel is the fabulous location: across the street from the Library of Congress, one block from the Capitol South subway stop, 6 long blocks from Union Station and close by the capitol. Several inexpensive restaurants and lots of bars around the corner on Pennsylvania Avenue. An excellent value at the Expedia rate. Would always stay there if I have business on The Hill.

| If you are looking for a no-frills hotel with easy access to the Capitol, Supreme Court, and House and Senate office buildings, The Capitol Hill Suites is a great choice. With dated decor and limited amenities, it is not a luxury hotel by any stretch of the imagination. But as a home base for doing business on Capitol Hill, it is very appropriate. The staff is friendly and efficient. Note: High-speed internet access is available, but for a fee.

| we stayed in a kitchen suite. we had two queen beds, sitting area with couch and long coffee table and dressing room sized closet that lead to the bathroom. bathroom was small and clean but could have used better lighting. kitchen area was tucked into a small room not visible from main room. you need to supply your own eating utensils, plates, etc. there was a full size refrigerator, sink, microwave and coffee maker. only draw back was very small table adjacent to kitchen for eating, but we sat on the couch and used the long coffee table for dining. nice large windows for plenty of light. hotel in quiet, safe, treelined street neighborhood. very nice continental breakfast choices with hardbodied eggs as well as usual carbs. we will definitely stay there whenever in dc.
