The hotel was in a good location for where we were going. We did not get the non-smoking rooms we requested or the bed choices we requested but the hotel did compensate with roll-away beds. All the elevators were not working and the ones that were seemed slow. The pool was very enjoyable and the staff seemed helpful.

Hotel has all the main ammenities though they are a bit worn. The pool was nice but needed a cleaning. The bar was pretty hip and had a good vibe. Location of hotel was excellent. Elevators were slow and took stairs on two occassions. With a cleaner pool and improved elevators, this hotel would have rated higher.

Although at first glance the hotel may appear to be grand and luxurious, this is just the appearance. Granted there is a nice lobby with bar and swimming pool, the hotel was very poor in overall quality of service and attention. My standard room resembled more of a college dormitory. Although I cannot verify for certain I am almost sure that the queen mattress was really full in size. Furthermore, the tile in the bathroom was old and mildewy. In addition, the halogen light in the bathroom flickered on and off. One of the lamps in the bedroom was cracked and one night after taking a shower, I came out only to realize that room service had failed to leave any towels in the room. Also, be advised that although the room service menu says they serve until 11pm, I was unable to reach anyone at 10:30pm and when I called the front desk to inquire, a rude attendant simply transferred me back to the room service line. When I called again to speak with a manager, I was transferred to a voice mail. Therefore, although it may appear to be grand and luxurious, poor attention to detail and lack of quality service make this hotel a poor choice in Washington DC.

We wouldn't sit on the couch or chair in the living area of our room because the fabric on both of them were filthy with many mystery stains. The rooms were very spacious but lacked warmth or coziness. They were actually on the creepy side.

Upon check-in to our room I thought my wife would burst into tears. Our room was not at all what we experienced 2 years earlier at an adjacent hotel which was booked for our stay. Only a few not maintained items, but mostly the size of the room & bed which must have been for a single. I went to the desk & with just a note of our concerns & a request to address them, we were more than satisfied with the change of rooms. The expression on my wife's face & her t appreciation was the start of a great weekend. Thank you so much!

This hotel could use some work on the rooms. The grout repairs are visible in the bathrooms and the windows weren't sealed properly. But, for the price and the location (central to everything in D.C.), it was alright. The room was clean and the staff was helpful.

The hotel staff was very unpleasant and exremely unwilling to answer questions that they thought was "someone else's job" to answer. The room was tiny and chintzy. The cable was so fuzzy that yyou couldn't see half the channels. We notified the staff our first night and it was not fixed by the time we left on the third night. There was no weather channel, so we found out it was raining by walking outside. Not the best for planning. The concierge(?) had close to no answers or innacurate answers. I was half inclined to walk into some other hotel and ask their staff for assistance. We could have stayed at a Super 8 and has better accommodations with better service. If you have any other options, do not stay at this hotel.

read the fine print. this hotel has no air conditioning. and no portable fans for guests. the non-smoking rooms may have had past lives as smoking rooms (it's hard to get the odor out). the food was passable. the bar drinks overly expensive. the rooms are in desperate need of an update. in the bathroom, the linoleum was cracked, it's just in bad shape. also, their high-speed wireless access isn't that great. I had to get a special high speed port b/c the wireless reception "is inconsitent throughout the hotel" as the wireless provider explained. hotel elevators were slow. we often found ourselves in large groups in the lobby waiting for one of the four elevators to respond. Until this place get sa major renovation, opt for something else.

The room itself was avaerage, but the attitude from some of the staff was poor. The parking attendants treated me as if I had stolen something, asking me 1000 questions every time I tried to leave the hotel. Also, one of the desk clerks was very rude, but the other four desk attendants were polite.Good location.

There was a broken toilet seat which hurt when you sat on it. This break was not new. The TV had no selection, only ESPN and NBC. Other network channels were not aailable. The ice machine in the vending area was broken on the 2nd floor and I had to take the elevator to another floor to obtain ice. The location of the hotel to the center of D.C. is the only thing that would be a plus.

They asked us to sit and wait but then never called us to the counter. we had to go up and stand there for half an hour until someone helped us and then they acted annoyed. overall, i would stay again but make reserv in advance.

The Washington Plaza Hotel was had a nice appearence from the outside, and the outdoor pool area is very clean and comfortable with good service from the bar and attendants. They also provide lifeguards. The hotel lobby is clean and the staff are friendly and informative. The room looks aged, esp. the bathroom which is unappealing and small. The housekeeping staff were very slow to clean the rooms and came at inconvenient times. We had to wait 2 hours after check in time to occupy our room.

It has been designed by lapiduss, a great hotel architect from the 50's. Althought it is a bit old fashioned (dark colours in the corridors, old carpets that need to be replaced), it is like being transported 50 years ago, to another era. The pool area is great, it looks to Thomas circle. The neighbourghood is fancy and nice to wlak by. You have 15 minutes walk to the White House, and those avenues are beautiful. You have a metro sattion five minutes walking too.

This hotel is a hidden gem designed by a well-known Miami architect and you don't have to pay an arm & a leg to stay here. Only a few budget-oriented business travelers, families, and several foreign tourists seem to be in the know so you feel as if you almost have the place to yourself. The design is 70's modern. (Who needs all that colonial crap?) The rooms are spacious for a city and the bathrooms are a good size. The beds have a nice cotton comforter instead of an annoying, hot polyester bedspread. The workout room is a bonus and if you're there during the summer, there's a giant pool. The bar is casual hip with a DJ on some nights. The food was good although I was jet lagged for one meal and couldn't eat. The service is friendly if not fast. Room service ordered for the first available time came when it was supposed to though. The location is convenient to the Smithsonian/mall; Dupont/Adams Morgan, downtown, Conventino center, or Union Station/Capital Hill. Also if you fly into BWI it's convenient for taxi or train. Eventually the the construction around the circle will be complete and it will make pedestrian access much easier.
