I was very satisfied with this hotel, though I wasn't able to take advantage of all it had to offer. The suite was excellent, the view spectacular. I only wish I had used the pool and the health club which were available for free. The pool was a little inconvenient in that you had to use the same elevators that all the travelers used, and being in a robe with a bunch of suits is uncomfortable. Still this hotel has the best access to Stanley Park, the beaches, all the restaraunts on Demun, all the shopping on Robson. It's almost a shame to have such a nice place when you're hardly going to be there!

I was very impressed with this hotel. The Brasserie restaraunt was fabulous! Location was wonderful for walking to all types of things. The hotel staff was most helpful with booking tours or providing information--stayed a week and didn't need a car! Views were great! Just off a cruise ship, and thought this place was great!!! Have recommended to others and would come back!

We stayed at the Coast Plaza Suites over a 3-day holiday weekend. Our room was very comfortable for 3 adults. The views of the water and mountains were incredible. The kitchen came in very handy, as it was stocked with dishes, pots and pans, had a microwave oven and a good sized frig. Very spacious - lots of closets, access to balcony. Nice amenities. Sports bar featured live music, pool tables and dartboards. Great restaurants, shopping, beach and Stanley park, all within short walking distance. Excellent location...would definitely stay here again!

The location is great, but that's about it. We loved the access to the waterfront and Stanley Park, but good grief, this hotel needs a major overhaul. I was thrown back into the fifties in a bad way with the kitchenette, painted cabinetry, dirty windows and mauve bathroom fixtures. I've seen many cheaper hotels with nicer finishes. The concierge was friendly, helpful and attentive, but the lobby, parking and elevators were a maze of confusing stairs hallways and blind corners. To find the pool a series of Get-Smart doors must be passed, but again, the pool was alright!

I've stayed at the Coast Plaza Hotel in Vancouver many times over the past three years. Each visit has been a great experience. The hotel staff is always helpful, friendly and polite, the rooms are exceptionally clean, and the location of the hotel is excellent. Also I've always been fortunate to have rooms with great views. There is an attached small shopping mall and also attached movie theaters for convenience. I can't think of any negatives that I've experienced when staying at the Coast Plaza. I highly recommend it.

I really like the apartment studio feeling. It feels like home. LIttle living room, dining table and the balcony!! Kitchen seems useless to me cause it's right in Denam street. Right there you have all kinds of choice about food and every little dining place have it's own specilty, although not all of them are good. Also, the hotel have a full size Gym and free to hotel guest. Very Convienient and much better then normal hotel gym. strongly suggest if you want to stay in Vancouver for leisure.

Our room at the Coast Plaza Hotel had a small kitchen area with a sink, refrig, coffee maker, utencils, etc, which was a very nice surprise. The room was in good condition and pretty clean. The free DSL connection (need to request before checking in) was a bonus, and the hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel is not very new or fancy, but the location is great. It is only a about two blocks from the English Bay beaches and is located right by Denman St, where there are a lot of restaurants. It is a few blocks from Robson St, where there are lots of shopping and food places. Stanley Park is very close by as well. There is a 7-eleven store (24H) right across from the hotel, which is quite convenient.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was key to me and my family. We wanted somewhere close to Stanley Park (walking distance) and also close to the beach. The hotel was great because you can walk a couple of blocks and take a boat over to Grandville Island. There was a little kitchen in our "comfort" room which included a microwave, refrigerator, sink, and coffee maker. The parking in the garage is $10 a day which was very reasonable given the difficulty in finding parking in the area. Also, there are a lot of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The hotel had everything we needed, was clean and well kept given it's age. Be aware, if you're looking for a NEW with upgraded features hotel, this is not the place. Elevator, Bathroom sink, tub, swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room (which was downstairs in the basement) and toilet was workable but not new. Tiles were a bit old but very clean. The air conditioner was a portable but very powerful and met our needs to keep cool. Overall hotel was this way. Regardless, I would definitely go back. Reminds me of being on a cruise but not staying in those luxury rooms.

The hotel is centrally located in a more residential area than some of the others we considered. The hotel was clean, but outdated and not what I expected given its rating. The beds were not all that comfortable. The service was great and the pool was nice. Unfortunately it was located in the basement so we couldn't experience it on a rare nice day in the Northwest.

I just returned from a two night stay at this property. I can not say enough great things about the location. Located on top of a full functioing grocery store that was open until 10pm and a kitchen in the room was a super combo. The beach only a couple of blocks away, starbucks across the street. We have stayed a few places about the city and this will be our location of choice from now on. Only drawbacks....could not check in until after 3... but was able to park and start some exploring. The TV reception was a little poor but we were able to watch a family pay movie and make our own microwave popcorn. A great home base hotel when exploring Vancouver.

Just steps from English Bay and Stanley Park, located in the leafy and peaceful West End, yet also around the corner from the shops and (mostly) restaurants of Denman St., we found the location ideal. Our not luxurious, but comfortable suite with kitchenette was more than adequate and the convenience to the natural beauty of Vancouver made us glad we didn't opt for one of the "downtown" hotels.

Unless there is a major remodel done to this hotel, it will only get seedier. The furnishings are dated, the carpet had a cigarette burn in it (on a supposed non smoking floor), the bed was soft, the windows were dirty, the balconey floor was buckling, the hallways and elevators were dirty, it hardly deserves a 2 star rating let alone a 3 1/2 star rating. We will never go back.

I found The Coast Plaza Hotel & suites to be a great place to stay and very affordable. Within walking distance of Stanley Park, English Bay beach and even Granville Island the Coast Plaza's location is ideal yet quiet and non-touristy. Denman street is quirky and loaded with great restaurants. The Hotel's staff are just a lovely group of people. Since the Coast used to be an apartment building about half the rooms have full kitchens which is a very nice feature. The one drawback is the Hotel's four elevators are quite small for such a tall building.

We were here on our honeymoon and stayed for 7 nights. The accomodations were very nice, we had a beautiful view of the mountains, the city, and the harbor from our balcony. Our value for the dollar was more than worth every penny. I'd read one review that kind of scared me, but once we were there, I was relieved as the review was incorrect. Also the Brasserie and the Comox Bar are fabulous as well.

We have stayed at several hotels in Vancouver over the years. Now that we have two small children, we were looking for a hotel that was more kid-friendly. We stayed in a suite room which had a bedroom us, a living room with a hide-a-bed for my daughter, and a full kitchen where my son slept in his port-a-crib. It was clean, very spacious, great location near the beach and many restaraunts, and the kitchen made it easy for us to eat breakfast in the room. The hotel is attached to a small indoor mall that has a grocery store and pharmacy in it. We got milk, snacks, etc. and brought them to our room. The pictures on this site need some updating, we were surprised that it was nicer than we expected.

The Coast Plaza Motel is located convenient to many local attractions and recreational facilities. The motel is within easy walking distance to many sites and public transport is readily available within one-half block. The motel is an older facility but is well maintained and offers satisfactory accomodations. It does not fall into the "luxury" class and offers limited services beyond sleeping room accomodations.
