| The barbary Coast was a very nice, and well maintained hotel. What was really nice is that it is done up and maintained in the old school Vegas fashion...You could almost imagine bumping into mob gangsters when walking down the classically Victorian decorated halls...The hotel facilities left a little something to be desired...not much in the way of restaurants and shops, but that is available elsewhere on the strip. For the money, a very comfortable stay.

| Easy to get in and out of hotel. Must have reservations for eating in the hotel. Hotel staff not friendly at all. Not at all helpful in regards to questions concerning their own hotel.

| Barbary Coast has a cool casino because the table minimums are low and they have craps lessons! It really is a great laid-back place where a novice gambler can feel comfortable. I doubt I'd stay there in the summer though because they don't have a pool area. Also, there is a talking sign right next to the hotel that is very annoying due to the thin walls. But the restaurant has really good food for really really reasonable prices. Overall, it was a good experience.

| This teeny hotel, sandwiched between the Flamingo and Bally's, feels a little out of place located smack-dab in the middle of the gaudry Strip but, oh, was this a fun and friendly place to stay! From the moment we checked in, we could tell this was going to be different from the more antiseptic, corporate feel of the larger hotels in the neighborhood. The small front desk crew was friendly and helpful, we didn't have to wait around in long lines to check in or get a table to eat (although the great Victorian Room coffee house and restaurant was constantly packed). The casino was fun, lively, and with a great in-house cover band and karaoke night. The rooms were darker and more intimate than in other hotels I've been in, and range of cable channels on TV were pitiful, but the whole atmosphere was so much more laid back than the "go go" feel of other casino-hotels that we felt totally relaxed during our vacation. (One room caveat: the mattresses are definitley not the bext, so if you have a bad back, don't sleep here.) This place is not at all posh, so if that's what you are looking for, look elsewhere. But it certainly did have more character than most other places I've stayed. The people were great fun, the food was good and convenient (with steak and eggs available all night), and the location was very convenient for all the other Strip-hopping we wanted to do. I'd defintely stay here again.

| For the money, the Barbary Coast is a decent place to stay. The rooms appear to be really old, and feel pretty old too. They're not exactly bad, but the place just feels like they up-rooted it from downtown and put it smack in the middle of the strip. But if you're looking for rock-bottom price, and a great location, it'll be hard to beat. (Just stay clear of the security guards. Their plastic badges seem to have gone to their heads.)

| The room and hotel were nice but the service was only so-so and they moved me to a suite when they overbooked but they moved me to a regular room the next day. Very inconveinient.
