This hotel looks nice from the outside but smells so badly inside we couldn't stay on the gaming level more than a couple minutes. It must have the worst ventilation of any hotel on the strip. The room was very clean, but VERY bare. No wall hangings, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee pot, nothing. It was 4 walls and a bed. If you ask any security personnel a question, prepare for attitude because that's exactly what they'll give you. We spoke to several other guests with similar stories. Find another hotel closer to the heart of the strip - it's worth a few bucks extra per night.

We stayed in the stratosphere this summer for 2 nights. The rooms and pool were amazing and the rides at the top of the tower were awesome. The casino was very clean and big. And there were lots of perks to staying there like a free show and free admission to enter the tower. I would definetely recommend this hotel to everyone. The only downside is that it's at the end of the strip, so it's a bit of a walk to the big casinos/hotels. But other than that it was wonderful.

The Stratosphere Tower provides a good place to rest, has plenty of amenities and interesting things to do on site, is easy for foreigners to locate when driving because of its height, and is not too far from the action further down Las Vegas Blvd.

Overall, if you have a very limited budget, this hotel is ok. However, the air freshener used in the common areas was so revolting that it actually made me physically ill. If you have a few extra dollars to spend, I suggest you try a different hotel. The rooms were also VERY small (and I stayed in the "newly refurbished" part with the "bigger rooms") and the bathroom was so small that someone who was significantly overweight or just large in general would not have been able to close the door. The bathtub was also raised much higher than the floor, with no bar to hold on to, which is a definite safety issue.

Long walk from the valet parking to the registration desk. Also, there is a hidden $5.00 charge that the hotel requires you pay upon check-in for each night you are staying. Finally, our sink only had hot water. Overall, the hotel was nice and I would stay there again considering the cost.

Cons: -Bathroom was extremely small. -A/C unit in the room was very noisey. -Hallways in the hotel are uneven (my wife insists the ugly pattern on the carpets were tricking my senses) -Except for housekeeping and casino waitresses, I don't think I was looked in the eyes once. Most of the staff seem like they couldn't care less that you're a paying customer. -Shows (we saw all of them) were only so-so. -Casino is small. -Elevators made some unnerving noises and were uncomfortably hot. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but when it's 106 degrees outside, the last thing you want is more unnecessary heat. -Way too far to walk, to get anywhere. -Fitness room is the size of a 2-car garage, mostly treadmills. Hardly any free weights outside. -Better and cheaper buffets elsewhere (Fremont St. has the best IMHO) -Internet access is dial-up only, plus there's a surcharge on top. -Be prepared to pay another daily service fee when you check in! Pros: -Cheap enough. -Coupon book/resort package gets you good (free or 50% off) deals on show tickets and tower passes. -'Meet and greet' with the cast of 'Bite' on Fridays. This is the best they have, but adults only. -Casino waitresses constantly bring the drinks, are friendly, and easy on the eyes. -Rewards club comps. -Lucky's restaurant open 24/7, breakfast anytime. I wouldn't stay there again. The money you save is blown on all the time you spend in transit to/from all the sites.

I was a bit concerned to stay at the Stratosphere because it is so far down the strip but everything was great, outstanding price, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They allow you to go up the tower for free from 10-2 and we used that and the free tickets to the Vegas variety show. I wish they had a few more options for site down restaurants. But really enjoyed the small shopping center and take away places which they had a nice variety. My only complaint was the pool hours it was only open 6am-6pm. I feel it should be open until at least midnight.

We just got home yesterday from our first trip to Vegas, and I have never been happier to be home. This hotel is so far off the strip that I am sore from head to toe from the walking we did. We used cabs sometimes which gets very expensive, and the $5 shuttle? Go ahead, if you have time to waste sitting waiting for it, then riding for an hour to go 2 miles up the strip. We were married here this weekend, and that was ok for a 10 minute wedding, but the rest? My husband and I felt like we were staying in the ghetto, and I was a little frightened of the people walking around the one and only night we attempted to walk near this hotel. Customer Service was not impressive, the counter people were not helpful or friendly. They had us waiting for a shuttle they swore comes by every 15 minutes to take you to the airport on our was out, so we waited, missed our flight, and were basically stranded, causing us to spend even MORE money. All in all, this place is BORING, not impressive to look at. We have both decided we will most likely never will go back to Vegas now, and my wedding memories at the Strat. are a bit of a disappointment. Spend the extra money elsewhere!!! I wish I had!

The hotel was very nice. The Casino floor was very well lit! My hotel room was also very nice-one night when I returned back 2 my room; Housekeeping surprised me by turning my bed down :)Aww!! And then they left a fan detail on the bath tub!! :) I thought that was so nice of them-I really appreciated that small gesture! The Restaurant/Lounge was very beautiful and classy, The view up top of observation decks were breath- taking!! The walk along The Vegas Strip is exahlsting!!:( the Dbl Deuce (bus)had a good deal; You can ride up and down the strip all day & night for just $5, and the pass doesn't expire until the next day!!I'm not the gambling type-but I did have fun, met new people, seen new places!! If I come back, I'll definitely would stay again-I might splurge for one of those nice suites they have w/ the jacuzzy tub!!

Very Impressed! A quality hotel at a budget price. Pros *Price: amazing rates during the week (especially thru expedia), also very affordable during the weekend. *Rooms: clean and large with very comfortable beds. *Service: The staff was very pleasant and friendly and can answer any questions you may have. *Dining: We only visited Top of the World Restaurant (in tower) and the Starbucks in the lobby. Starbucks = overpriced, but we were VERY impressed with Top of the World, great food, service and views. After your meal go up to the observation deck for free. *Pools: Great. They have two pools, 1 is the general family pool (with hot tub) and the other, called Beach Club 25, specializes in "European Topless Sunbathing", $10 for guys, Free for women topless or not. *Transport: Bus, Trolley, Monorail, taxi, walking. The bus is the cheapest but is much slower, especially during rush hour, so plan accordingly. The buses seemed new and were filled with tourists, rather than the "colorful" characters you usually find on a city bus. Cons *Location: The 1 bad thing about it is that its pretty far north on the strip which means relying on public transit or walking. In the summer that could be very uncomfortable with the heat. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you are looking to save some money but dont want to sacrifice quality or good service. Also, make sure to have a meal at the Top of the World Restaurant, I cant stress that enough!

Great hotel, good food at Lucky's (as a vegetarian I was wary of the buffet), sprawling casino, view from top of tower is awesome (almost as good as the view in New York). It's not too far away from the strip if you take the Monorail (on Paradise Rd.at E Sahara Ave.), hopefully they'll extend it to the airport soon. The room was in mint condition and bed was enormous and luxurious. Their show's weren't that interesting to me but I didn't need them to have fun anyway. I'm definately thinking of going back and staying there again next year.

Although the Stratosphere is at the end of the Strip, it does offer decent amenities and atmosphere. Parking was never a problem or hassle to get in and out of the structure and checkout was a breeze as it was all done via the reservation through Expedia. If you're not into spending a ton of cash on the other hotels, the Stratosphere offers everything you'd probably need to make a night or two of it living it up in Vegas.

There's nothing wrong with the hotel, but there's nothing exactly right with it either. Its too far down the strip to really be called "ON" the strip, but its too far from Fremont St to enjoy that either. If you want to stay on the strip, there are better places than the Stratosphere. My advice? Save a few bucks and stay on Fremont St. Take the Deuce to the Strip to see the sights, but gamble on Fremont.

For the value, we would stay there again. The room was clean and had the basic features. The only problem we had was the bathub/shower drain was very slow draining. We reported it the first night and it was taken care of the next morning. The alarm clock did not work, which we did not discover until last day there. The Stratosphere was a good value for the money. The courtyard buffet was all right but I have seen better for the money. The bottle of wine with the buffet for $6 was a good deal. We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was "ok". We got a smokers room so it did smell like smoke as expected. I felt the mattress needed changing out. Lucky's restaraunt looked very dirty so we left right after being seated. "Roxy's" was a hit. The casino floor was so large it was confusing and better signage would help. The surcharge was irritating but expected. See "Viva" as it is included in the surcharge and a decent afternoon show. "Bite" was great! We aren't into the vampire stuff but was one of the best shows we saw in this price range.I would probably stay at a different hotel on the strip for convenience factor for seeing shows. I was disappointed because I had heard the tables were less than they turned out to be but I'm not a big gambler. I also think using the credits with paper ticket payout ruins the slot experience.

I stayed in the premier tower and it was nicely decorated and was kept clean. I enjoyed most of the resteraunts. Roxy's Diner is great. The waiters and waitresses actually sing during your meal. I think they should have more places open to eat for the late night crowd. The rooms were nice. They were very clean. The beds were a little too firm for me, but thats just personal taste. Good place to stay for a cheap price. It is a little further north on the strip but a little less traffic as well.
