| This hotel is old and worn out. They call it "trendy" I call it old. Everything down to the dresser. I had a king bed reserved only to find out it was a "European King". In other words, an American Queen ! What a scam! To top it off the sheets didn't even cover the whole mattress. Best part of the Hotel were the Doormen. VERY courteous and very helpful!!!! Overall I felt this hotel was way overpriced. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Maybe a 2 star.

| I (lady over 65) arrived in pouring rain around 4:30pm, no dooman in sight. I struggled into the hotel to be confronted by stairs. Finally a bellmen took my bag and pointed me to a long flight of stairs to the lobby. I had to ask if there was an elevator. After waiting in a long line to checkin my room was not ready. They took my cell phone number and told me they'd call. Went to the Lobby bar, after 30 minutes a server took my tea order which came 20 minutes later. No one called to tell room was ready, so after an hour and half went back to front desk. Room was ready. Service did not improve during my stay. Went down at 6:45 am to get a newspaper and breakfast. Found no staff at front desk or in Restaurant even after waiting 5 minutes. Noted that most guests were younger than myself, so asked my 30 something neices and nephews what they thought. While they thought the decor in hotel and rooms was fun, after sitting ignored in the lobby bar, they agreed that service was really bad. They pushed me to write this review.

| Great hotel in great location. Only disappointment was that we checked in at about 3:30, and immediately left to go out and then to dinner. When we returned at 9:30, the bags had still not been delivered to our rooms. They did deliver them fairly quickly once we pointed out the error.

| Very nice hotel in a terrific location. Room was bigger than I expected and very comfortable. The service was terrific in all respects except breakfast which was a little spotty. If you plan to spend your time in Soho, the Village, etc. this would be a great choice. Easy walking distance to terrific restaurants and world class shopping. There is a 24 hour parking lot directl;y across the street but I don't know the price. I definitely plan to return to this hotel.

| the hotel is in a fantastic location on the southern edge of SOHO and has beautiful common areas. Services, decor and food are all very high quality. However, i felt the room was extremely small and not that comfortable at all, especially in light of the very high room rate. The king bed was shorter than standard length. The room was so small that it barely had enough space to role out a yoga mat. And the worst thing was that the room had venetian blinds instead of black-out curtains - so at 6:30 am the room was bright and sunny. Not very nice after a late night out......

| I loved this hotel, location, etc. but the workout room is TERRIBLE. There were only three pieces of cardio equipment (all treadmills) and one was broken. I went down at various times and there was always a line. Exercise is key for me when I travel, so I'm not sure I'd go back unless/until they upgrade.

| The Soho Grand is a unique hotel in a great neighborhood. For style and location, you can't beat it. Around every corner are cafes, shops, barsand restaurants. Walking in Soho is a pleasure, and it is easy to get to the rest of Manhattan via taxi or the subway. The rooms are rather small (we didn't have a dresser) but very clean and comfortable. The fly in the ointment? The attitude of most of the staff. They were aloof, and just too cool to engage in converstation. At one point halfway through our stay We were leaving for the evening, and the evening desk clerk-a smartly dressed young man with distinctive eye glasses-was busy, so I wrote down a few things (extra pillows, watch for a package, etc.) and asked to be put on the list for an ipod (available for loan, a nice touch). Not only were our pillows never delivered but he had not put my name on the ipod reserve list which I discovered the next morning...apparently the list was tossed. This is only one example. There were a few lovely people on the staff, but they are the minority. Even when service was rendered, it was done with an icy attitude. Other than this glaring breach of hospitality, the Soho Grand is a great place to stay.We will go back, but I won't expect service with a warm smile.

| I had a minor problem with the hotel before I arrived and they went above and beyond to make up for it. When I arrived there were snacks, beverages, a rose and a personal note in my room. They brought me everything I needed the second I needed it. I had a personal emergency during my stay and the manager picked up a lovely room service dinner and they allowed me an extra late check out time. I cannot say enough about how fabulous the SoHo Grand was to me.

| Soho Grand gets a qualified yes. For people who do not want to stay in Midtown Manhattan, one's options are limited. The best thing going for Soho Grand is the location, right in the heart of Soho on West Broadway with its fashionable art galleries and stores. The rooms, however, are nothing special and tend to be on the small side. Plus, the views are nothing to write home about. We were initially given a smoking room (despite asking for non-smoking) which required us to go back to the reception desk to get another room -- a small complaint, but a hassle nonetheless.

| very relaxed and cool hotel in an excellent location if SoHo is your thing. Rooms are a reasonable size for the price category and the staff are very welcoming in an understated and unfussy manner. No off-hand, ultra cool, boutique hotel vibe. The one major quible is the service in the lobby floor area (for light snacks, breakfast, or just drinks) is too slow - you'll need lots of patience.

| I fell in love with the SohoGrand Hotel. The staff (across the board)was friendly/low-keyed, but very efficient and professional. As a university professor, it was a great location to walk to the NYU library as well as to dine/shop. Other libraries were a subway ride away. I especially liked the comfortable and specious feel of room and the spaciousness of the hallway. It was a great place for me to write. Fresh coffee stations across from my room was a wonderful surpise. It will most likely be my hotel of choice in NYC.
