Different experience, cottage style, not at all like a chain. Room very cold on arrival, but heated quickly and kept comfortable throughout stay. Difficult to find at night as in dark, residential area. After checking in, had trouble locating our specific cabin. Otherwise, enjoyed the stay very much.

Room was cold when we first arrived but heated up very quickly when we turned on the gas fire place. Plenty of hot water & received extra towels upon request. Room had iron & board and hair blower in addition to microwave, fridge & coffee maker. Room came with dining guide which was very helpful.

Initially, we were pleased with our hotel. The cottage is quaint and cute. However, we went with another couple who stayed in an adjacent cottage, and their sink was backed up. It took two days to fix, so they were brushing their teeth in the bathtub. The hotel manager and owner said he'd give them a discount coupon for their next visit. The logic here is strange because he made the assumption they would return to a place that took 2 days to fix a plumbing problem. Monetary compensation or free breakfast or dinner would have been more appropriate. There are also A LOT of cottage-like inns in Carmel, so why stay at this one?

These individual cottages were perfect for a family without staying in a suite. They are good-sized with conveniences like a mini fridge, microwave oven, even a popcorn popper. Close proximity to both Carmel and Monterey. I would stay again next trip in to this area.

fabulous decor in the room, the room was very comfortbale and quiet with easy access to places in town. Set in the beuatiful forests and neighborhood of Carmel. easonable price. Excellent for anyone considering doing the Big Sur marathon. The only drawback is no late checkouts on race day, so no shower after race :(

My family just returned from a wonderful trip to Carmel where we stayed at the Carmel Resourt Inn. The hotel is charming. Each cabin is unique, and roomy. It is great for a family who needs a little extra room for the kids. Our cottage had two separate rooms with two TV's, very comfortable queen size beds, and a fireplace in each room. The grounds are decorated in a kind of fairy tale theme, and our young son just loved it. We can't say enough about the owner and manager of this hotel, who went out of his way to give individual attention to our needs. The location of the hotel is excellent as it is close to the village, and very quiet at night. You get a lot for your money at this hotel. It is unique and charming, just like Carmel. We will definitely come back again and stay at the Carmel Resort Inn.

Overall we were pleased with the hotel. Our cottage was conveniently located on the side street with easy access. The room was comfortable and spacious, w/ quaint arched ceiling beams, wide shuttered windows, and a gas fireplace. It was clean and stocked with the usuals. The complimentary continental breakfast was plenty. My only issue is that it is definitely NOT in walking distance from shopping and the beach. If you are young, very fit, and looking for exercise, then maybe. And that's if you don't carry anything with you on the walk. You also have to factor in the hilly streets. Carmel is a lovely place to walk around in, but do not plan to walk to the main shopping strip or beach, as you will still have to walk back to the hotel and it is uphill most of the way.

Pretentiously named, overpriced motel, which claims to be close to Carmel but is just too far away that you cannot walk comfortably to downtown. In addition to the rooms being shabby and unimpressive the following were additional reasons not to go:-Manager at front desk, in addition to being uninformed, was not at all helpful regarding a billing question.-The boiler was not functioning and we had to take a cold shower, after overhearing another customer with the same problem the day before!-There were not enough towels in the room for the registered guests
