If your looking for a hopping singles hotel, this is not it. But, for couples looking for a relaxing getaway, this is the place. Typical Ritz Carlton class all the way. The room was great (except that we were supposed to get a king bed, but all they had were rooms with two doubles) and the staff helpful and friendly. Many hotels say that they are "on the beach," but what they mean is that you have to take a shuttle or walk 1/4 mile to get there. But this hotel is literally on the beach. At night the hotel is pretty quiet, even the casino, but it's just a 15 minute cab ride to the nightlife of Old San Juan.

From the monment you arrive you know that you have chosen to stay somewhere special. You are met at the door and releived of the burden of you baggage, check-in is swift and you are ushered to your room immediatly. The room is exceptionally clean and includes many thoughtful amenities. The bed was ridiculously comfortable complete with down comforter and pillows. There is a very nice casino on the premises as well as pool, spa, hot-tub, tennis courts, gym, beach and restaurants. We ate at Prime 787, it was not just a meal, it was a culinary event! The Ritz Carlton, San Juan, Puerto Rico, is the bar by which all other accomodations are judged.

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at; for business or pleasure. Not one complaint, except when it was time to go home. We were there a week, and it never disappointed. Our room, restaurants, casino, pool and the fabulous spa....all terrific. Can't wait to go back. NB NYC

most of all the other hotels are closer to san juan in the condado section accessable by taxi. the ritz is further down the eastern side away from the hustle.

Awesome service,all their restaurants provided excellent food and service, especially Prime 787. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, spa & gym with latest products & equipment (the gym provided everyone with towels and bottled water). Super clean (appeared new), large comfortable room with Flat screen TV, mini bar, large bathroom. Great views, awesome beach (full service provided, such as lounge chairs, umbrellas and server taking food & drink orders on beach). The hotel offered shopping on-site, such as Tiffany & Co, a business center with free access to the internet, the casino had new machines and tables. Overall, an amazing, relaxing stay at the Ritz. I highly recommend this hotel. I did not want to leave!!!!

Check in went smoothly. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Spa was great (got two massages). Staff was happy to assist at every turn. Food in Hotel was delicious if somewhat overpriced. Beach was clean and fully staffed for drink orders, towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, hammocks, fruit, and chilled hand towels. It was both relaxing and enjoyable. We made a stop into the casino that was more than adequate for those wanting to play, however it does get pretty packed on the week-ends. There is so much to see in PR that we spent a lot of time away from the Hotel, but it was nice to come back at the end of the day to the level of service provided by the Ritz-Carlton.

The rooms was beautiful, but the doorlock was broken, and we complained 6 times about it. Everybody tried to help, but repairs was never done during our stay. Super housekeeping staff, service in the restaurant was excellent. Pool and beach area superb!!

This hotel was outstanding! The pool, beach, and lobbies were gorgeous. Everything was included too - floats, kayaks, sailboats, etc. The staff was the best I have ever seen. The bartender in the lobby bar entertained us for hours! Can't wait to go back!

First trip with our baby. There were lots of kids @ the Ritz. The staff was great at making us feel comfortable dining with the baby. The crib was full sized and nice. The food and drinks are all excellent. However, if you want to try local food (and you should) you will have to go out of the hotel.

This hotel is fantastic! First of all, we arrived much earlier than anticipated, around 10am, and they offered to store our luggage until our room was ready, but ended up finding a room for us and allowed us to check-in. Not only that, but they gave us a 5 level upgrade! We were on our honeymoon and they gave us this great suite with a balcony and what I think was the best view of the pool and ocean at the hotel- gorgeous! We were also on the club level and treated to free breakfast and lunchtime and evening snacks and desserts- they were fantastic! The staff was very nice and attentive and my new husband and I can not wait to go back! Food is great and so is the pool.

Room accommodations were relatively new, well appointed, and clean. Service is what you would expect at the Ritz. The pool was attractively landscaped and spacious, and the beach was clean. Great location.

This was the best vacation of my life; I only wish I had planned it for longer. I have been to most all of the Caribbean Islands...this was A+ service, cleanliness, beach and relaxation. I would recomment this Ritz to anyone!

Third time to the hotel and unlike the other two, there were some minor irritations - like having to call up housekeeping three times to get a replished supply of shower supplies. Wonderful beach, pool and hot tub. The restaurants are wonderful as well.

By far the best pina coladas we have ever tasted (and we've tasted quite a few). As expected, the hotel itself and the service were great. I would say that in general not necessarily up to par with other Ritz Carltons that we have stayed at on the mainland, but excellent nonetheless.

My husband and I spent our 1st year anniversary at the Ritz in San Juan. Our room was very clean and the hotel was in a great location and close to downtown, shopping, airport etc. I think anyone would be happy with this hotel for a vacation and getaway.

While the hotel was very nice,service was great, lobby and room were kept super clean and modern, restaurants were fine, casino's gaming tables and chairs were in a very poor shape. The worst that I evere seen. Tables were full of stains,chaires were in a rough shape. When I had to wash my hands BEFORE going to bath room I new something is wrong.

The rooms were comfortable and well decorated. The service at the hotel was exceptional. The food in the restaurants was very good (we especially enjoyed breakfasts). And, the kids really enjoyed the kids programs.

The hotel was at 38% occupancy, 30% of whom were under three. Wall Street bonuses must have been really good this year..... That being said, the service was great (except at the business center, which was awful, truly awful. This is not the hotel if you're hoping to work and relax.), the food good-- exceptional at the Sushi restaurant-- and the situation beautiful. San Juan is a quick trip from New York, the people are absolutely lovely and the Ritz is, well, the Ritz.
