This hotel is located right next to the Gardens and the T stop is across the street. However, we had to call maintenance twice about the air conditioner and the street noise was pretty loud at times and we were on the 12th floor. The rooms were great.

When you first arrive you can't help but notice the beuty of the hotels lobby.Service was excellent A+.The room was small but clean. The bathroom looked a bit run down. Only bad thing is the walls are paper thin so you can hear other people, not a very private feeling. The room gets a C-. Great location for tourist, within walking distance of everything. Location B+. Overall B.

My husband and I were excited to sneak into the city for a little break from the kids. It was a treat and we were looking forward to the escape. The hotel wasn't quite up to our expectations. It wasn't bad...but it lacked something to make it special. The furnishings were beautiful, but looked a little tired. We stayed on the conceirge level and were disappointed that the drinks we were told were included were not. I didn't think the extra money for the concierge level was worth some appetizers. I would have preferred to put the money toward going to a restaurant of my choosing for apps and drinks versus sticking around the hotel (in a room with no good view). The bathroom was very small. The toilet and the bathtub were touching. The bathroom door would not shut. Not the worst experience, but not the best, either.

We spent a weekend at the Park Plaza and really enjoyed it. The good: -Location, location, location! The hotel is right in the heart of the Back Bay area. If you are interested in shopping and eating at great restaurants, this is where you want to be. -Neat old hotel that's been nicely maintained/restored. I would highly recommend spending the little extra money for a King Deluxe room instead of a standard room. Our room was very big but when we saw the inside of the standard rooms they looked pretty small. Also, the King Deluxe room we had had two bathrooms.

This hotel needs to do one of two things: 1. Charge less for a room. 2. Put some money into a major renovation of the hotel from the 2nd floor up. Walking into the hotel, my wife and I were very impressed with the hotel appearance but that quickly turned into dissapointment upon walking into our room. Dirty worn carpet, walls with holes in them, missing sections of baseboards, and a bed that was not comfortable at all. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars and reserve a room at a different hotel.

Hotel in general was wonderful, however I was not impressed by the air conditioning unit. We had to leave the window open- I was just happy it was a cool weekend- despite it being August. Also- the ice machine didn't work on our floor- but the room was very pleasant - we loved the comforters. Concierge was extremely helpful...

The hotel DID NOT honor our requested room with a double bed. Instead they had a room with a single bed that they would 'do me a favor' and upgrade to two single beds for my husband and myself. Also, it was very loud inside the room, both from noise within the hotel and street noise.

Unfortunately, Boston was very hot the few days that we were there, and the rooms were nearly as hot as the outside. My thermostat said that is was 67 degrees in my room, but it couldn't have been under 77 degrees. And no matter what I did, I couldn't cool it down. The room was reasonably clean, but old and very worn. We were also very disappointed with the lack of help from our concierge; we asked for restaurant recommendaitons, and we got recs for chain restaurants in the area.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, and I would still recommend it to anyone traveling to Boston. The location is perfect. Very close to the park, T stop, theater district and back bay shopping. The hotel is elegant but not over the top elegant, so many different types of people will feel comfortable here. I stayed in a Junior suite. It was plenty big enough. Although the bathroom was smaller than I'd like. The view was amazing. Overall this is one of my favorite Boston hotels. Oh yeah, the price is very reasonable as well.

Park Plaza has all of this, but don't expect modern conveniences. The A/C was barely keeping up with the 90 degree heat and I've seen larger bathrooms in a camper. But this is all worth it to experience a piece of Boston history and have Back Bay, Boston Common and downtown within walking distance, if you're fit enough. If you don't like to walk, subway access is 50 yards away. I'd certainly stay there again.

for the money, I expected more than a tiny little room with a door that's hard to open and a view into an alley. Granted it was a last minute reservation; so I can't really complain about the view, but the room wasn't worth the price by any means. The lobby is lovely, the porters and attendants are extremely friendly and helpful, but the room needs work.

OK hotel but a little pricey for its condition, it is a little old and the rooms could do with a revamp. The internet access was a charged service which in this age is ridiculous. It is in a good location, though, and the room service is good. There is also an excellent bartender, Harry, who took the time to explain the finer points of baseball to us using only a napkin and ballpoint pen.

The hotel was lovely, the staff was courteous, extremely friendly and helpful. The location was central to all the tourist attractions but also located in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the highly traffic areas. We were adjacent to Boston Commons and had a lovely view of a courtyard park. The restaurants near the hotel were wonderful, affordable and delicious. The cleanliness and security were more than adequate and we look forward to planning another get-a-away to Boston soon!

We really enjoyed our stay at this old historic hotel. The only complaint if I could call it a complaint is the AC gave us a little trouble but the staff was more than willing to let us use a box fan which helped greatly. Otherwise hotel was better than expected espically if you just use a hotel like I do, a bed to sleep in. Oh I almost forgot, I didn't care for the $10.95 internet charge for the price of the room I thought that would be included.

Overall, for the service provided, we thought the hotel was overpriced. Do not use valet parking as it is $34.00 per night and you are charged an extra $16.00 if returning late! We had to have a car, so there was no way around it. Most concierge levels provide free drinks and appetizers. Although the appetizers were free, charge for drinks was ridiculous. Service was hard to come by in the lobby bar. Staff was competent, but most lacked any type of personality. Would not return

This probably was a nice hotel in its day, but it is old and the rooms are in need of some modern updates. There is minimal self parking for a fee in a parking garage about two blocks away in a run down building that is not well lit. The valet service is a good idea, but it is way over priced. The location is good for a lot of good resturants and activities in the area.

Everything was good, but not great. No mini fridge and no closet (only an armoire). The one major problem was the bathroom(s). My king bed room looked as though it was converted from two adjacent college dorm rooms into one big room. There were two bathrooms that shared a common wall and the showers were the smallest I had ever seen. I am 6'0, 175 pounds and I had trouble moving around in them. There was no bathtub.

After flying back and forth across the Pacific ocean multiple times, I thought I could get some rest at this world-class hotel where celebrities such as the Clintons are said to have stayed while in town. That's why I was so disoriented when I awoke at 3am by a droning noise like that of an aircraft engine--did I get off the plane after all? I took me a while to realize that it was the air conditioner that had kicked in. I asked to have a different room the following morning. The front desk was abiliging, but after three
