| Mine was awful. I had a view of the alley on the side. If you take any of the items on the minibar, make sure they replenish. The maid forgot to and they tried to charge me for the item twice. Excellent breakfast buffet. Nice service. They will even bring breakfast to your room free of charge.

| We stayed at the Excelsior for a week, and had a wonderful experience. It's a relatively modern, high quality (nice, but not luxury) hotel with spacious, comfortable, well-kept and clean rooms. The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating (we were fairly high-maintenance guests). The free breakfast buffet was good and offered enough variety that we ate there and ate well every morning. Beautiful rooftop terrace and pool. The location is fairly central and the free chairs and towels at the beach were a bonus!

| This is an excellent 4-star hotel. The rooms are very nicely decorated and clean, and front desk personnel were always available to answer questions and help w/booking tours. The breakfast is very good and has a variety of foods to choose from including eggs, juices, fruits, and pastries. The roof top pool has a great view and is a nice place to relax (and take pictures).

| The Excelsior Hotel is generally decent, but I have a few minor but important gripes (to be fair, I did go in with high expectations): - Room furnishings: cheap furniture and wood laminate floors - Demographic: mostly Brazilian and European tourists ... I was starving for American company by the end of the trip - Location: while being on the beach is great, the neighborhood was weak in terms of dining and shopping options (though there's plenty within a 10 minute block along the boardwalk)

| Enjoyed my stay immensly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Spoke English when required. Great location. Wonderful breakfast selection. Hope to go back and stay at the hotel.

| We felt safe at this hotel in a very bustling area of Rio, security was very obvious and the breakfast buffet was the best we had in 18 days in Brazil.

| I felt it was an oasis to come to after my stay at the 4 star ( can't believe it ) dump in LeBlon, although the lobby staff are excellent, like yours.
