This was one of teh best hotels we have ever stayed at! We have already decided to go back ASAP. The service was better than I could have ever imagined. The only down side was that you could not swim in the ocean. The sand beach around the lagoons was ok, but this would be a perfect hotel if there was a real beach.

This resort is about 1 hr and 15 minutes south of Cancun airport and about 15 minutes or so south of Playa del Carmen. This resort is missing nothing. The personnel are incredible. While you may find food there you dislike, hey, wait 1 night because the menu changes. Besides, with about a dozen restaurants and 24 hr. room service, it has it all. We asked for a plate of bananas and oranges. Room service brought 3 plates of fruit! Breakfast in bed, no problem. Perhaps the only thing missing here is a direct beach access in that the resort has its own lagoons separating you from the surf. This actually has benefits in it makes great snorkeling around the rocks and eliminates concerns over ocean rip tides (not to mention I'm sure it minimizes surf erosion issues). With king size beds, full size jacuzzis in every room, really nice entertainment at night, full bar in your room, full bar service to your lounge chair on the beach or by the 2 huge pools, this is great.

The Aventura Spa Palace is a great hotel. We had 6 restaurants to choose from and no need to make reservations which ended up being a huge plus as we didn't have to rush back to our hotel from any tours for dinner. My favorite retaurants were the asian which had good sushi and appetizers, and the steak house, which had a great filet. The pools and beach areas were awesome, keep in mind that their beach area is a lagoon instead of right into the ocean. Very nice for snorkeling and swimming though. The room was awesome as well, the only thing I didn't like was that the bed was rock hard, but my wife didn't seem to mind. Room service was prompt and decent. They provide a bottle of Cuervo, Bacardi, whisky, and brandy for mixing cocktails in the room. We ended up going into Playa 3 out of the 5 nights we were there though because we started to get a little bored. Playa is really nice, definitely recommend an italian restaurant in Playa called Casa Mediterranea - cash only, but we had a very romantic dinner there. We also went on the AllTourNative tour to Coba with the zipline and repelling into the cenote - very fun!

We had a great time at Adventura Spa. The food was good but it all depended on where you went to eat. Some places were better than others. The service was wonderful! Everyone was very friendly and happy to help us. We stayed on the North side of the resort which was very far from everything going on within the resort, but aside from that, we had a great time. If you pick one excursion to go on, I recommend the AlternativeTour exercusion. It's close by and is filled with lots of activities like zip lining, mountain biking and tubing.

My husband and I stayed at ASP for our honeymoon March 27-31st. We were impressed with the hotel and the selection and restaurants. Breakfast at MoMoHa was awesome! The spa was absolutely WONDERFUL! We thoroughly enjoyed the hydrotherapy, it was most relaxing. The service in every restaurant was exceptional as well as the pool and snack bar service. Food at outside bars was more than adequate and my husband fell in love with guacemole after shunning it in the States. The bartenders make sure your cup is never empty and are more than willing to share the many varieties of drinks they're capable of concocting. Be sure to have ones for tips! There were a variety of activities to take advantage of through the hotel. We rented a jeep. So what did we hate.... I HATED THE CATS! Our first day there we were eating on the deck at the outide restaurant and a cat is perched looking up at me while I ate. Needless to say the last thing I want around me while I am on vacation is a cat, especially while I eat! The beds were not comfortable at all, our backs were sore every night. Although we were aware of the lack of a beach, from the reviews, we didn't believe it would be a problem. Well, we were wrong. The pool scene gets old quick and, although relaxation was our objective, something just seemed to be missing; it was the beach! Finally, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL if you decide to eat outside of the resort, as my husband and I experienced Montezumah's Revenge for 2 WEEKS!

We just returned last night. When we checked in, I told them how I had heard such good things about them, and their response was"We want to exceed your expectations." They did. the service was perfect. Even at the buffet for breakfast, they couldn't help you fast enough. When I filled my plate, they rushed over to carry it back to the table. Everyone always had a smile. It does help to at least know the basic Spanis, such as hola and bueno dias. The rooms were quite comfortable, the beds firm but not hard, and lots of pillows. The double jazzusi is a nice touch, and the shower is fantastic. My only complaint is that the towels are not soft at all, but they do give you robes to use and that was better than a towel. The pools are wonderful. The beach is manmade around the lagoon, but you can swim, snorkel and kayak all day. The 7 restaurants give you pleanty to choose from. The menus are posted in the lobby, so you can decide which ones to try. We alternated, but went back to the steakhouse twice. The steaks were superb. And you must try the Mexican Coffee. It was a pleasure jsut to want the preperation and the presentation! The night time entertainment starts early(7pm) and the bands in the north and south paios end early(10pm). But the bars stay open and if you are with other people, or meet other people, you can make your own entertainment. All in all, it is a wonderful place, and I can't wait to return.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. Not having a beach is a bit of a drawback, but the pools are amazing and there are no kids running around yelling and splashing. The hotel provides plenty of space so we never felt crowded. Restaurants are all good, however I would skip the buffet for dinner. The snack bar at the pool could use some improvement as well, but we just waited until we got back to the room and ordered room service. All of the staff is very friendly and attentive. The spa service was wonderful. I would definately go back.

My biggest complaint with Aventura Spa Palace was the sales pitch. I paid good money to stay. This was not one of those deals where you show up, tour and stay for free, but it felt like it at times. The tour company associated with Expedia (Best Days) continually wasted our time trying to sell us something else and then the hotel started with see our other properties and get free golf or free whatever. I don't expect this from a place that cost so much. Other than that, the staff was awesome and we had a great time.

There is no other source of income for the local people, so please be generous. The food was very good and so were the drinks. Trip to Chichen is a must, but plan for it!!!You will be very tired after it. Make sure you buy prepay transortation to the resort. It's worth every penny. When you arrive, after you go trough customs, there will be about 100 salesmen waiting. Just keep on walking and when you exit look for "best day". They represent expedia. They will take you to the resort and pick you up with time needed for departure.

This hotel lives up to its billing. For those looking to be treated well and curteously every moment of your holiday this is the place for you. Whereas Cancun is fast, loud and energetic the Spa Palace is tranquil and relaxing. No beach to stroll if that is your thing. A $14USD trip to Play Del Carmen via taxi puts you on the beach and seemingly miles of little shops in which to barter. As others have written, the liquor is top shelf. The overall quality of evening dining is much better than anywhere we've stayed in Cancun. 24 hour room service was timely and the food well prepared. Our next trip will be to a sister property the Moon Palace. FYI, My first booking with Expedia. No hidden charges, well recognized even by luggage "goons" at the airport! lol Great detail in intineray. 100% satisfied!

OK, this place is trying to be exclusive. However, the approach is to make you wait. Meaning trying to go to breakfast is a challenge, all places make you wait about 10 - 15 minutes. You can order room service if you want OK, but... Well trying to go for dinner is a challenge too; other places at this level take reservations at the fine dining, not here. My record was 45 minutes at 10:30 PM to go for dinner. Don't get me wrong, the rooms are really nice, the food is OK (had actually better in all inclusive places). What really gets you is the wait, wait for this wait for someone to talk to, so I went for a long weekend and out of the 5 days I spent 2 waiting..... The place is also very, very commercial. So if you ask for a new room key (after yours does not work any more and you walked for 2 miles, waited for 10 minutes at the front desk and then had to argue that you really tried the key) try to sell you something, a tour a jeep trip, a spa stay and so on and so on.

Property and facilites are maintained to the best condition. 99% of the employees are well versed in English (and other languages). Unless you are in the market to purchase a 'time-share' or like pachakge, ABSOLUTLEY REFUSE the so called presentation. It's very high pressure, and distracts from the quality of the resort, and intent of why you're there in the first place.

The hotel and spa are terrific, grounds are well kept, and the staff is very friendly and eager to assist in any way. We stayed in the standard room and found it to be very comfortable. We were not impressed with the food, but we do not typically go the "all-inclusive" route, and can only compare to dining out experiences. The lunches at the resort were OK, but the dinners were very dissapointing. I'd go so far as to say they were very bad actually. I've seen reviews for this resort that praise the food, and I'm left wondering where these people normally eat to consider the offering at Aventura great by comparison. Again, we're not typically all-inclusive vacationers, but this will be our last vacation where meals are part of a pre-paid package because of this experience. The resort is HUGE, and divided into the North and South areas. The South seems to be a little crazier...very raucous at the pool, lots of music, and the North has a more relaxed atmosphere. There a bit of a "yahoo" factor that you would expect at a place where unlimited drinks are part of the deal, but the resort was large enough to avoid the rowdiness if you chose.

The Hotel Grounds, Pools, Lagoon, Service and Spa were great, however the bed was stiff and all through the night workers rolled big carts by the rooms and it was very irritating. The food & mixed drinks provided by the hotel restauraunts and snack bar was way below satisfactory. My girlfriend and I both suffered from upset stomachs and nausia our third day at the hotel and started noticing the same trend with other couples we met durring our stay. We also started watching the preparation of mixed drinks at the poolside bar and witnessed carelessness by the employees in mixing tap water in the blenders and rinsing them out with tap water and bare hands to move quickly on to making another drink. We also witnessed at one of the restaraunts where employees sat trays of freshly baked bread on garbage cans to cool. BE CAREFUL!!!
