This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel in the past few years. For the money it is worth it, a little run down than the first time we stayed though. They offer a nice contintental breakfast which is included and the customer service was good.

The good points: free local & long distance phone calls, close to BWI & downtown Baltimore The bad points: hotel staff answered phones numerous times during check-in, leaving us waiting at the counter for service for more than 15 minutes. Gave my mother with asthma a smoking room against requests - took over two hours of fighting with hotel to get her moved to a non-smoking room, no manager in sight for the entire ordeal. Wrote up parking passes for the wrong dates and gave us keys that would not open our rooms. Hallways and stairwells were dank and smokey, doors into the lobby were all manual and quite difficult to maneuver with baggage carts. People hanging out in the lobby at all hours - not guests, but friends of staff just hanging out. Rooms of same rate were not equitable - some had refrigerators, others did not. Overall, a very disappointing experience and we will not go back.

Positives: Shuttle service prompt Free Internet in crowded lobby Pizza delivery to my door Staff doing the best they can with what they have Probably would not stay here again on next trip...room smelled funny of stale cigarettes and ??

This was a great solution for combining business in Washington with Red Sox games at Camden Yards. The hotel van drops and picks up on an individual basis at the light rail to Camden Yards, the trains to DC and airport--all within 5 min away, and within 20-30 min of the request. No rental car needed. Clean, spacious room for the price range, though couldn't deliver on the non-smoding room I requested.

The walls and floors of this hotel must be paper thin. There was noise coming from rooms above and rooms around ours all night long. Doors slamming, water running, people walking. Needless to say, we didn't get any sleep. We booked this room because we wanted to be close to the airport the night before our flight. This way we didn't have to get up as early as we would have at home. That didn't work out, because we couldn't sleep for the noise. Also the TV kept switching from one station to another and back again even few minutes. Very annoying. Trash in the trash can when we arrived. The shuttle service was very good, though. Would not stay in this hotel again. Spend a few extra bucks for one of the three star hotels.

We stayed at this spot to get the van over to BWI - which was very dependable! I was not prepared to show picture ID when checking in! My husband enjoyed the pastries from the vending machine. I did not like the mirror used as a headboard, but there was lots of space and appliances!

The room I had was very small, the bed was very uncomfortable. It was quite compact not unlike a european hotel. It is close to the airport. Their internet connection (wireless) was very slow. They did have a breakfast only had items loaded with carbs. If you aren't into healthy and you like a slow connection, in other words you don't have a whole lot of work to do, this is the place for you.

The desk clerk at the Microtel was very pleasant and efficient. However, the halls were smokey, the room included a creepy mirrored wall, and the airport shuttle was 15 minutes late. We parked our car at the hotel during our trip and waited 30 minutes for the return shuttle, although the hotel is 5 minutes from the airport.

My biggest issue with the hotel was the parking. More than 50% of the available parking is only accessible by taking a flight of stairs. Handling a couple of wheeled bags at the airport was no problem, but trying to drag the luggage up a long flight of stairs was a challenge. I guess I should have used a temporary spot to unload. Perhaps they could have a sign for loading parking only or something.

Great shuttle service and assistance from driver. Room was smokey though N/S requested. Only 2 pillows in entire room for 4 guests. Bed uncomfortable. Service at front desk was often ambivalent--initially they offered extended check out as a possibility, then the AM manager told me to "read the sign, 11 AM is checkout". Could have been a better experience.

My main requirement for the Hotel was a Wired High Speed DSL Internet access and this Hotel provided that. It was one of the least expensive hotel that provided this facility. They have an option for both Wireless and Wired Internet access, but for wired internet access you have request for those specific rooms in advance and is based on availability. Rest all other facilities were also good. The only limitation, so to speak, was that they they have only one shuttle to Airport and that only operates every 30 mins and carries only 7 people. So for a 6:30 AM flight we had to take the 4:30 AM shuttle, though Airport is only 7 mins away, as all the remaining trips were booked ahead of us.

Room needs to be remodeled. The wallpaper was buckled in places and the tub/shower definitely needed some TLC. Although I requested a non-smoking room, my room had obviously been a smoking room at one time but was not too bad. Continental breakfast was predictable(make your own waffle, bagels, cold cereal), if staying more than a few days, I would recommend getting a suite and cooking for yourself. Access to the light rail and airport excellent as hotel has 24 hour shuttle.

The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful, but the shower was a disaster (not a great morning surprise) and the AC kept us awake by going on for about 30 seconds at a time, just when we were falling asleep. Rooms were clean but spartan in decor. Nevertheless, except for the non-working shower, probably a reasonable value for the reasonable price.

We were given a handicaped room perhaps because we asked for a non smoking room. The shower head needed help staying in place. We did not get the wake up call we asked for. People in another room got it. I bet they loved being awakened at 3:45 am! We were able to return the rental car the night before we left and were able to catch the shuttle to the hotel from the airport. It was worth staying there for the transportation access. They would have taken us to a dinner place nearby if we wanted.
