This is an upscale hotel with an oceanview and an excellent dining room. Walking distance to the Rainforest Cafe' (and possibly the world's largest IHOP for those 24 hour munchies). The valets were especially wonderful----giving us rides everywhere--even in a Bentley a few times. Try to get a high floor for the best view--the lower floors are obscured somewhat by an extensive roof. Highly recommended!

Everything was good about this hotel even the price. We had our two boys with us (11 and 14) in the same room, plenty of space for us all. Very clean and modern. The pool was perfect for us all and you can swim to the bar for a drink when you like. Both Galveston and the hotel were perfect.

My husband and I went for leisure and we had a great time. The hotel staff from the valet to the front desk to our daily clean staff were awesome! They provide nightly bed turn-down with chocolates left on the pillow. The veiw from the balcony is spectular especially from the 16th floor. The San Luis grounds were groomed each morning. The cave-like hot tub with a waterfall was a relaxing treat at night. We did not eat any of our meals at the hotel because we wanted to eat at resturants that offered outdoor dining that overlooked the water. We would definitely return to the San Luis.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. Nothing was too much to ask! Every room has a view. The pool was beautiful and the beach just across the street! The Steak House in the hotel is small (reservations are a must!) The food and service were wonderful! Definitely split the salad or potato, the servings are generous. For dessert, the chocolate souffle was mediocre but the chocolate eruption outstanding! I would NOT suggest Landry's Seafood located next to the hotel. The food was over-cooked and tasteless.

Check out is before noon, but we couldn't get in our room before 4:00! They took our car to park it & had to bring it back. We hoped to get changed & refreshed to go back out & were at their mercy unless we downgraded our room. We were tired & this took away from our stay. They didn't charge us for parking, but we were still tired & had to change our plans because of the delay.

This hotel had it all. We would definitely stay there again. The staff knew you by name and were more than willing to help with any need you may have. Bathrooms were a bit small, but the rest was GREAT!

The San Luis is a walk away from the beach. You can sit on the balcony and watch the waves while sipping a cool beverage. The rooms are roomy. The Luxourious Lobby with the old guy playing the piano when you walk in is divine. Even fancy amentities, Gilchrist and Soames. To the hotel owner, I recommend it's time to upgrade the rooms with a colorful decor as the cost of the room demands a new face lift. You can't beat the location, awesome swim up bar, pool and the fabulous fine dining steak house. I'll keep coming back, just give me an updated room.
