I found this hotel to be well maintained and in an excellent location. It is conveniently located three short blocks from the White House and 6 short blocks from the National Mall. The hotel is also located across the street from the McPherson Square metro station. The only shortcoming with the hotel was the location of restaurants open after 6pm. On most nights I found myself taking a cab to Georgetown or Dupont Circle to travel to many of the great D.C. restaurants.

We just got back from 2 nights at the Hilton over the 4th of July. I had read all the reviews and was not disappointed. I found the staff very friendly and supportive, they got us a roll-away bed for my son at no extra charge. There is a bit of language barrier with some of the staff, but all in all, they were very helpful. Great location, we walked to the Washingoton Monument and the Museum of American History. We also rented some bikes from "bike the site" and that was a good way to get to Arlington Cemetery.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. When I go to D.C., I try to make sure my package includes this hotel. The organization I belong to has a group that comes in by bus. Next year the lady that coordinates this trip hopes to get us into the Hilton Garden Inn in D.C. and I plan to ride the bus with them should they do it. I would like to make this my regular hotel when I visit D.C.

Most of the other reviews I've read are pretty accurate, with the exception of the staff. In my limited dealings with them I found them to be extremely courteous and helpful. The location of this hotel is perfect - directly across the street from the McPherson Square Metro stop. Buy an all day pass for 6.50 and you can go anywhere in DC with a minimal amount of walking. Nice hotel for the price. Would definately stay again.

I checked in about 10pm. Around 11pm, we had noticed that our phone didn't call outside the hotel, our remote control was broken and we had ANTS! So, after calling the front desk THREE times, they informed me there was nothing they could do until morning!?! Apparently, they don't even have access to a can of bug spray after maintenance leaves. They told me they would leave a note for the manager and he would call the next morning. Guess what? I got no call. When I went down to the desk, he was shocked. He received no note about the situation. So...he comped us to a suite. When we went to move, his shift was over, and the afternoon people moved us to an equivalent room to what we had been in. After going back to the front desk about this, they weren't going to do a thing for me...until, I noticed the morning manager's note still sitting on the front desk within my view with the word "SUITE" written on it. The suite was nice. The hotel is conveniently located across from a Metro stop. It is walking distance to many attractions. However, the price is a bit high to pay for bugs in your room. The suite was bug free, but had I not complained several times I would have never received even an apology for the inconvenience.

Hotel is located across the street from the Metro (blue/orange) so sightseeing is very easy. Washington DC has a wonderful Metro system, very logical and inexpensive. Take the blue line from Reagan Inetrnational to the hotel. Room was average size, but very clean and in good condition. Coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator available. Beds were comfortable and maid service came every day to straighten and leave clean towels. Restaurant was very average and expensive. Not much else around in the evening, so recommend eating in area with more nightlife. Starbucks across the street!

We spent a long weekend at this hotel in April 2006. Our room was always clean and the persons at the desk were helpful..The location is ideal for walking to many of the specific sites near the capital..The metro was right across the street from the hotel...Breakfast buffet was somewhat expensive, but the food was a great start to a long day of walking.. Would return to this hotel again if in the Washington area..

This hotel was perfectly located for our trip to DC. It was across the street from the Metro line and 3 blocks from the White House. For a tourist it is a perfect location. We both did walking to sites and traveled via the Metro. The service in the hotel was perfect. We checked out early and left our suitcases there with the Bell Captain so we could tour further as we had a late flight. The staff was gracious and helpful. We will be taking another grandson in 4 years to DC and will be staying in the Hilton Garden Inn again.

When we got to the hotel, I checked the car into valet parking. The valet did not offer to help me with my bags. Apparently he thought my three children travel companions aged 12, 7 and 4 could handle it. The deskman gave us the key card to our room and we went up the elevator to room 602. I swiped the key card, opened the door, and lo and behold, suitcases on beds, music coming from the TV and voices in the bathroom. I stopped in horror, glad that I had not sent the boys in first, or worse, sent the eldest up without me while I gathered the boys and all our stuff. I do not think the people in the room knew that I had just opened their door. I went back down to the lobby, told the deskman what had happened and much to my horror, another guest at the desk chimed in "the same thing happened to us when we checked in yesterday. We are on the 11th floor." Can you imagine? I have never had that happen, and I have been in a fair share of hotels! So the clerk behind the desk says to the other girl, can you check 602 and see if they are showing as checked out? - and reprograms the key for room 409. Without so much as an apology, he handed the cards back to me. I did not thank him. I was now concerned that our things would not be safe in the room when we went out to see the sights.

We just returned from a 9-day stay over the 4th of July holiday. This hotel is in a perfect location for site-seeing. After a long day of walking, it was great to have the Metro stop practically at the hotel's front door. (No "just 3 more blocks to the hotel, honey...") The breakfast buffet was a lifesaver in getting us through until an early dinner. We'd highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is 3-4 blocks from the White House and 6-7 blocks to the National Mall. Great location for walking to all the Smithsonian museums, the monuments and the Capitol. We didn't have a car until we left DC and we never missed it. We did use the tour bus for Arlington. We had an incident with a small stuffed duck that was left in the sheets one morning, it left our room in the laundry. The hotel staff contacted the laundry company and the duck was returned before we left. Really good service! There is a pool but it is small. Still big enough for an 11 year old to unwind after a long day of walking.

There is a subway station across the street and the White House is withim a walking distance. The property is relatively new and the rooms are clean and confortable. The only problem is the service that is really bad (at least on the weekends). Front desk attendants does not make any effort to make you feel wellcome (to not say they are rude). They have a valet parking but do not expect they will help you to park your car easily. You have to find a spot outside in a busy street walk inside and find someone to help you (hopefully you do not get a ticket until they park your car). But if you do not care about whether or not they "value your business", it is a good place to stay.
