This was my first trip to the Atlantis and I can't wait to go back. The resort is breathtaking. There is so much to see and do you are never bored. I took two 16 year olds and two 20 year olds with me and they had the time of their lives. We had one day where it rained the whole day and we still had a great time walking around and looking at the exhibits. The food was excellent and no more expensive than other vacation resorts I have been to. I had no complaints about the room. Only spent about an hour a day in there. Service is slower, but that is the culture. They do everything slower.

We enjoyed Beach Towers. Rooms were fine for 4 people (2 Adults & 2 girls -10 and 11). Variety of places to go within resort. Aquariums were fantastic and The Dig tour is a nice break from sun. Staff was nice. Sometimes you needed to remember that you were on BAHAMA time so things sometimes happened a bit slower than we were used to so just relax and enjoy yourselves. We went off sight to try native food. (The Fish Fry was recommended by some locals.) We do NOT recommend it. Our server was obviously put out that she actually had to work that night and food reflected it. (Wrong order and we waited a LONG time for it!) It could have just been a bad night but for the money... no night should be a bad night. Overall, shop - go into Nassua, eat - in Nassua or onsight. Snorkeling - Stuart's cove was great. Beach and pool at Atlantis were great. Bring lots of snacks from home if you want to save a bit of money. Have Fun!

Go to nassau and paradise island/atlantis if you want to see a beautiful beach that it!, Atlantis is the most impressive looking hotel Ive ever been to. If good priced food and good service is important to you dont go here. Attitudes of the local people working at the hotel and the throughout the island is horrible. The beach was beautiful but who can enjoy a beach packed with people and 30 jet ski's ripping apart the ocean. If you love to snorkel and expect to snorkel there dont go to this island- the only way to see live coral and fish is to go on an expenisve trip.

Atlantis is a beautiful hotel, but service is lacking. The problem is that the hotel is so large that everytime we had a question or needed something, it was a 90 min. adventure. Information gave us bad information about when the Mayan slide opened. we set our alarm at 7a so that we could ride the slide one last time before we left because Information told us the slide opened at 7a. Turns out it doesn't open until 9a and we had to check out before then. The kids were VERY disappointed.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay celebrating our 5th anniversary. We thought it would be a mix of couples and families, but in July it was cluttered full of families, many of which execersed no supervision over their children post afternoon beach time. It was like a high school mixer in the hotel in the evening as I noticed at least 2x 17/18 year olds trying to buy beer, etc. One night we had to bang on our wall to quiet kids who were throwing themselves against the wall. Service was responsive, and the beach, and various other amenties were quite elegant. The harbor, pools, crystal clear ocean all provided us with loads of fun. The resort was certainly much fun, but I might shop around if a couple is looking for a honeymoon destination during the summer. The Beach Towers is more family oriented, couples should stay in the Coral or Royal Towers if you are willing to spend the money.

Before we left I read all the reviews about this place and thought I would be disappointed, but because I didn't have high expectations I was pleasantly surprised! Sure, I've been in much nicer rooms for the same price but when you think about all the other things you are getting beside the room it was definatly worth it. That is, the pools and waterslides and amazing aquariums. We went over the 4th of July week and it was crowded, but by the reviews, I thought it would be disgustingly crowded. It wasn't that bad, and there were chairs available but not tons. My 3 yr old LOVED it. She is a lover of fish and swimming so it was wonderful for her. She liked it better than Disneyworld. The night we got there we were supposed to be in the beach tower but there weren't any rooms available there so they gave us a suite in the Coral Tower. No, it wasn't the most up to date in decor but it was very supacious with a balcony right on the beach. We loved it and we are not resort type of people. The food was expensive in the gourmet dining, but Nobu is exceptional and worth it. The outside casual dining is a good value.

I was in the Atlantis beach terrace tower. My room exhaust fan was too noise and, while I was checking out the Atlantis theater and heading toward that direction, and about 100 meter from the Atlantis theater, there was this very strong unpleasant smell which I can tell the restroom is out there.Soon I found out that the restroom was acrossed the Atlantis theater. The casino staffs were not very friendly. The casino gift manager do not want "small fish" player like me.I asked for a resonable gift with the points I have accumulated, they refused. The best thing happened to me was the hotel manager. He managed to give me an Atlantis towel when I explained the problem with the casino manager. He gave me the best service and made my leaving a "happy ending". For the money I paid for this hotel,I was a little disappointed.

I took my 18 yr. old daughter and her best friend for their graduation present and we stayed in the Beach Towers. Everything was great and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The prices for food, drink, sundries, etc., are very high - double what you'd pay at home. Other reviews said to eat across the street, but we found that expensive, also. However, kick back and don't worry about the $ when you can and you'll come home relaxed and happy !

I would not recommend the Beach Towers to families with small children. It is a hike from Beach Towers to the Royal Towers where all of the water slides and the new kids pool is located. Although we are a fit family, our legs where tired at the end of the day from so much walking. We found the dinning on property to be extremely expensive, so make sure you budget accordingly. All in all, we are looking forward to going back again next year!

It's clear that this was a magnificent property at one time, but poor maintenance has left it looking like a "has-been amusement park". There didn't seem to be any emphasis on cleanliness outside your hotel room. The glass on the lagoon exhibits were so dirty, it was difficult to take quality pictures. The predator lagoon tunnel was covered in a fine layer of algae prohibiting quality photography there as well. Painting does not seem to be a learned skill there, as it appears when someone actually did make an attempt at brightening up the faded resort, it looked almost as if they just applied a hasty coat of paint over everything - covering any & all detail, & leaving drips & puddles in their wake. Water poured from the ceiling of our room on the 2nd night from some a/c problems, our mini-bar was empty and unplugged on our arrival & after 2 phone calls to get it stocked I gave up. I used one of the bath robes to dry scuba gear (they smelled too bad to wear) & it wasn't replaced - I'm still watching my credit card bill to see if I'll be charged for it! If all the above wasn't such an issue, it wouldn't have bothered me so much to pay 400% more for everything than it costs outside the resort. Having Atlantis employees aggressively ramming their Harborside Resort timeshare down your throat at EVERY desk & lobby was more than a little annoying too.

For most aspects of what you would expect of a hotel in this price range, it was fine as expected. Being close to the beach was convenient, a few restaurants in the same building or very close, and hotel staff very polite and easy to work with. Only inconvenience was elevators get very busy, and being on the 7th floor caused some waits. Also, we needed to use the Coral Towers check-in/out and transportation areas due to current construction, which required a 3-4 minute walk.

We were really impressed by the hotel property. It was always kept really clean. We have two children (ages 9 and 10) and they had a blast. Between the pools, gorgeous beach, kid's club, and aquariums, they couldn't decide what to do first. We definately recommend going on the Rose Island excursion. The beach was spectacular and the snorkeling was great for children.

atlantis is one if not the best place to take your whole family on vacation. my only two complaints are the price of food and drinks and the beach tower hotel is the eastern most hotel on the complex. my two suggestions for people with young children is to stay in the royal towers, its closer to everything for young ones. as far as the food prices are concerned there are reasonably priced restaurants such as murra's deli, jonny rockets, pizza, and i highly reccomend carmines italian rest. these are right in the marina complex which is all part of the amazing atlantis

We just returned from 8 days at the Atlantis, and it was just great!! The staff at the hotel couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. We had a problem with the room when we checked in (the safe was missing) and they promptly changed (and upgraded) our room. The water park was as spectacular as we had imagined from the Web site. The whole family had a blast at the waterslides as well as the pools and lazy river. Staying at this hotel is a must if you have kids, and for adults who love to have fun as well as relax. It was great just snorkeling right off the beach, which was well maintained and beautiful. The water was so calm - great for kids who wanted to swim. We loved the buffet restaurants - the food was great and offered many options for kids. Even the outdoor cafes for grabbing a quick lunch were delicious. The food is pricey, which we had expected, but was well worth it.

I travel a great deal, both for business and pleasure. I have stayed at many 1st class hotels, and unfortunately this is not one of them. I would never return to Atlantis under any circumstance - the issue is the service. When I pay top dollar, I expect top dollar service. You just won't get that at Atlantis. It is GROSSLY overpriced and you simply don't get what you pay for. The facility and property are very nice, but the rooms are average and the service is completely unacceptable. The vast majority of the servers were not even friendly.

The hotel room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We had an ocean view room looking out over the River Pool with the Atlantic Ocean behind it. Make sure you get an ocean view room; otherwise you'll be looking out over a parking lot and construction. Atlantis was a blast. Definitely worth the money. There was just enough to keep you occupied; but, not too much that you felt you were missing something if you justlaid by the beach.

Please keep in mind as you read this that I have traveled extensively. The following are just a few of the incidents that occurred during my recent stay at this hotel. Imagine these for your vacation experience and you will not go to Atlantis. The chef at the omelet station was asked to prepare eggs a slightly different and reasonable way. Not only did they say a flat no but it occurred each day with different chefs in different restaurants. On the beach in the evening workers decided to pile up beach chairs literally 2 inches in front of two guests thereby blocking their view of the beach and causing them to jump with the noise for 30 minutes. The concierge replied with an I do not know and walked away when a guest asked for where they could get healthy food. To top it off, those with an aversion to walking through or being in clouds of cigarette smoke should realize that this can not be avoided at this hotel. 5 times each day we found ourselves running with our kids to get them away from the smoke and even having to move our seats more than once. Think about what you really need on vacation. You can get it in much more pleasant surroundings elsewhere.

We had been to Atlantis before as a couple but this time we took our kids ages 15 and 9. We all had a good time and there were activities to keep us all entertained. Our youngest enjoyed the Kids Club evening activities and our teen enjoyed the pools and girl watching. The Teen Club looked fun but he didn't want to go in without knowing someone else. There were several restaurants, Bimini Road and Johnny Rockets to be specific, that weren't too expensive and had a variety of choices. The snack bar at the pools offered good lunch choices. The singers at the pools in the afternoon made a day at the pool extra special. I did take lots of snacks and drinks and we ate breakfast in our room to cut back on some of the food cost. I didn't feel though that the overall food cost was that much more than any other high end resort. The shops across from the Marina Shops, next to Anthony's Grill, which has a great salad, are great for souvenirs. The only complaint was that the first night we didn't have towels and it took three phone calls to get them. The rooms were small especially after we had a cot brought in but since were weren't in the rooms much it wasn't much of an issue. We have stayed in the villas by the Beach Tower's Pool on our previous trip and they are a luxury. We would recommend this hotel to those who want a memorable vacation and aren't on a tight budget.

A place that is different from all others! The only bad thing was the food and beverages were priced outrageously. This should be amended to allow for families who cannot afford to pay nearly three times the amount for food that you would pay anywhere else. Take notice that a 15% gratuity is automatically included in your price, even for a cup of coffee or an ice cream bar. Everything else was superior.

This is the least expensive of the three towers at Atlantis but we found that it was in the perfect location for my wife and son (27 months old) and worth every dollar for a kid/family-friendly vacation. The room/hotel and service was great...they are very personal and remembered my name at the desks. The main pool and kid's pool was no more than 25 feet from the beach. Get to the pool side by 9:00 am and save your lounge chars as they go fast. They also run out of towels fast. You can go back and forth from the pool and the beach all day long. My son enjoyed the large adult pool and the children's pool very much...as did my wife and I. Everything is within walking distance...including the other pools, the magificent lagoon, underwater aquarium and casino. Food is expensive on the resort and knew that prior to our booking by reviewing Expedia reviews.

The ocean is close to the Beach Towers - has great views. THe game of reserving pool chairs at 8 am was ridiculous though. I saw people throw a towel on the chair at 8 and not come back til 2 pm. almost a fistfight. There were many rude big city customers there.

This was probably the most fun and relaxing trip we have ever taken as a family! We all had a great time - and we had two teen-agers with us! There really is something for everyone, from the obvious water activities to pottery painting and complimentary movies. The rooms are small but very comfortable and quiet. Rooms without a water view have a fairly poor view (we looked over the roof of the entry foyer)- but you don't spend much time in your room, so it doesn't really matter. I don't think you sacrifice much staying in the less expensive towers. The resort is very large, so you end up walking a lot, regardless of where you stay. The only negative was the food. It is very expensive, and it is difficult to make "same day" (or even "next day") dinner reservations.
