I would recommend this resort to my friends and I would return to it in a second. Food was great, staff and bartenders were personable and friendly. Activities staff was fun and great with the kids that were there. Housekeeping worked hard to get the sand out everyday that we tracked in. I had no complaints about this resort at all.

We didn't have huge expectations since we knew the Hurricane had been through, but while the island had damage everywhere, the city is up and running nicely. Better yet the Allegro was just about perfect. Rooms were great, (bed was a bit hard though), the grounds are in good shape, trees have been replaced and all is green. The food was acceptable, the staff was outstanding! Very friendly at the pool and beach areas. We will be back soon.

The hotel is very picturesque. It has a paradise feel to it. The food, however, is absolutely terrible with the exception of the a la carte dining that you do once. The buffet is not very diverse and all the typical food does not taste typical at all. For us, it is important to have an all around good feel to it and food is an important part. If you don't care about food as much, this would be a great place. If you are accustomed to large, beautiful buffet tables with lots of great seafood, natural drinks and so forth, this place will disappoint you. Other than that everything else was fine.

The Cozumel Allegro isn't a high class resort. But for the price you get all the sun, food and drinks you can take. This was our second stay and the grounds are not as attractive as they were last time, thanks to two hurricanes that went through in 2005. But the damage is repaired and everything is functoning. If you like to keep up to date with things while you are away, this is a problem as CNN is in Spanish and the only reliable news source in English is the BBC World News.

Hotel location, close to the best reefs, is fantastic. Beach is great. Rooms were all remodeled after the huricane. The people who work there are very accomodating and hard working. Weak point: the food was not as good as it was five years ago, when the hotel had different ownership. Very family oriented hotel. Activities for kids were well organized. Good entertainment at night.

We had a great time at the Allegro. The grounds are beautifully groomed and the pool and beach areas are awesome. The beach is white sand and there are no waves. The rooms are pretty minimal, you get free bottled water in the rooms. They are in the middle of remodeling all of the rooms, so if you go, ensure to request a remodeled room, you'll know because you'll have a key card instead of a regular key. The food and drinks were great. I would definitely go back to this place in a heart beat and would recommend it to anyone that was going to Cozumel!!

Hotel quality is pretty good.....I was nervous because of all the bashing I read over the internet but was pleasantly surprised. It is an all-inclusive so don't expect super high end food but everything is edible and there is a reasonable selection at the buffet. Pools and beach provide nice area to relax or get involved in the activities. Staff all very helpful and very nice (probably best part of the resort). Diving trips leave right from the resort and the staff there is great as well. Nightlife lacking but that could be just a function of who is at the resort. They do have a show everynight @9:30 and there is a club but that was dead. Can get into town for more fun but it will cost around $30 round trip. All in all had a great time as with any vacation it is what u make it.

The hotel was better than I expected and my group and I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was very friendly and helpful with everything. Plenty of activities to do during the day and they put on a fun show during the evenings as well. The food and drinks were delicious and wish I had those options at all my hotel stays. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good time. The weather was also beautiful while we were there so that was an added bonus!

We spent 4 nights with our son, his wife and our two grandsons. The boys, 12 and 14 couldn't have been happier - the staff was terrific, towel boys entertained them with cards, chess, etc. The rooms definitely need updating but beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. My husband and I (both in our 60's) would prefer being closer to shopping and nightlife, but all in all it was a very enjoyable place to stay. The grounds are beautiful and overall the food was great.
