The hotel says all rooms are water front, but don't be fooled I was put in a garden view room. Disappointed, complained and they had me check out the next day and check back in 3 hours later where I only got a pool view. Better than the first room though. Night band is no good, but the drinks are strong so they sounded better as the night went on. Tight security so no salespeople on the property. Gift shop is overpriced, go out to the shops and gets stuff for less it's not that bad if you go with a friend. Learn to say no thank you. Do NOT take cocalico snorkel cruise-ghetto. Recomend the 4x4 cross country jeep safari-it's a must!!

What a wonderful place to pick. The service was excellent, the rooms were clean, the dancers/entertainers were amazing and very nice. The hotel staff has a whole were exceptional and very friendly. I have never been to a place that was so friendly and helpful. The entertainers always gave a wonderful performance. The food was good, especially the jerk chicken, that is a must. The drinks were always good and perfectly well made. The only thing that sucked was the airport, it took us forever to get through everything, and the beach we had there were 2 but they were small but nice. It was a beautiful view of the ocean. They had activities throughout the day and they always made it fun! I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I even want to go back next year! I didn't want to leave from there! Best entertainment I have ever had!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Royal Decameron for 4 nights and had a wonderful time!! The hotel was great and the people were very nice! The Royal Decameron had great shows every night and the club Glitters was always fun!! The hotel staff was very helpful and even came and partied with us! I would recommend this hotel to people of all ages! Be careful if you plan on leaving the resort at night because people will approach you. We only left once and came back after 5 minutes because we were a little nervous, but I didn't feel like I had to leave the resort because there was so much to do there! I give the resort a 10 out of 10!

We just returned from Jamaica where we stayed a week at the Royal Decameron. We enjoyed our time at this hotel. The food was wonderful, plentiful and I really enjoyed the many types of bread they offered at every meal. This hotel had enough activites for us including snorkeling, the staff was very warm, friendly and helpful, their bit of beachs and water was well maintained and the view was amazing. This hotel is close to the airport and you can spend time watching the planes come in, there really wasn't any airport noise that bothered us beyond a passing oh a plane just took off. The Royal Decameron is not one of the luxury hotels in Montego Bay but it had everything we needed to have a great stay in Jamica. We were very happy for the service and facility we had at the Royal Decameron and we were happy not to pay the luxury hotel price.

This was my first time at an all inclusive resort and i loved it. the staff was very helpful and polite. It was not crowded and there was "no pressure " to do anyhting other than relax. The daily activities were very entertaining, my husband could not get enough he participated in everyone of them . The room was great , we had an ocean view and it was breathtaking . The pool was never overcrowed. There is not much of a great selection for the buffet , so we ate at the Souk for 3 nights , which was O.K

We were very impressed with this hotel overall. The staff was friendly and helpful and they always had activities to participate in. Our room had a balcony and the view was absolutely breathtaking. No other hotel can compare to the service, experience and price the Decameron offered. The only disappointment was that they led us to believe they offered more of a selection of beer than just the local red stripe and real rock, but they did not. But this definitely wouldn't stop us from staying here again. We loved it and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Check in took close to an hour...front desk staff seemed confused...paid for an oceanview room and was told none were available until the following day and that I would have to settle for a garden view room. Finally had an opportunity to speak with the manager on duty and had this problem resolved...there was always plenty of food, but nothing spectacular. There is a charge to use in room safe per day and there was a deposit required if you wanted to use your room telephone....rooms were cleaned everyday and there were always employees cleaning and ready to help. If you get cold easily...make sure to bring a sweater for your room because the temp. control can be a bit erratic. Sometimes, humid other times extremely cold.

The quality of the Royal Decameron was at least on par with the other all-inclusives I've visited, and the value was far superior. The hotel is very well maintained, the decor tasteful and suprisingly luxurious, the food is outstanding, and the service, while at moments slightly slow, was overall quite good. Surprisingly, it ended up costing us less to stay here than stay at a pay-as-you-go place. Great quality, great value!

This is an excellent all-inclusive resort for those looking for a fun, cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The food and drinks are great and the staff is friendly. Tipping is not forced, but seems necessary due to great service. The water sports department is poorly ran...don't waste your time except for free activities such as snorkeling. The workout room is exceptional compared to many other places. Overall, it is a great resort and comes highly recommended!

This was a very fun ,relaxing vacation for the dollar. The front desk staff are confused and act as if they all just started tommorrow but once you get past that its all good. Plenty of fruity drinks, frozen and on the rocks to take you over the edge if you choose. They also have jack daniels and jim beam but these are hid from you. All the fruity drinks by weeks end do get tiresome. If you are a beer lover I hope it is Redstripe beer that you so love. This is your only choice. Here its rum, rum, rum. The food was ok and there was plenty to eat. I reccomend the jerk wings at the beach grill and the bamby beef at the reservations restaurant. Be aware on the beach,if you go more than twenty feet out into the water you are into the reef. Shallow and full of spiny sea urchins and anenomes. ouch!!! Spacious and well keep rooms that stay nice and cold. Great views from the balcony. Lots of seating at the pool and on the beach. Plenty of watersports included and not included to meet any needs. Great gym. No nitelife here! The club is dead. Go to Margaritaville for nightlife, however exspensive. The gift shop is overpriced.

It's beautiful. Food's great, and plenty of it. Drinks are not watered down. Pools are great, entertainment solid also. Front desk staff can be rude. We had the reservation for almonst 11 months, asking for double beds in adjoining rooms and a cot in one room. We got none of it. And the front desk staff got nasty when I called them on it. Eliminate the attitude and generally inept desk staff part of it, and it was a great stay.

First time out of the country and we were really looking forward to it. The web site was very misleading. Yes we had an ocean front view with two windows (not bay windows) and a sign that said "do not open windows". Our air conditioner did not work (room 35). We reported it every day that we were there and even asked for them to move us to another room. They said they had no rooms available. Finally, on our last night there they fixed the air conditioner. The food was terrible. We spent most of our week at the snack bar eating burgers and pizza. The only good thing I can say about our stay was the very friendly entertainment staff and the bartenders. They were awesome. We will never go back there though. All in all we were terribly disappointed at Royal DeCameron.

This was my first time going to Jamaica, and I will certainly go back again. Although a bit dated, the Royal Decameron was a wonderful hotel. It seemed as if some of the staff worked 24 hours a day. They were always cleaning, smiling and willing to assist you with everything. Everything was well organized from the transportation to and from the hotel to our trip to Ocho Rios to Dunns River Falls (which is a must do for everyone). The food was average, but it was plentiful and good. The drinks were very good. If you like your drinks strong, just let the bartender know and they will oblige. This hotel is very close to the airport, but very quiet. We had an awesome view of the sea. The entertainment and activities were enough that I really didn't need to go anywhere else. My daughter and I went out for a walk and did a little shopping, but that's all the money we spent while there.

I think this is a typical 3 star resort. You get a lot for your money but not all of the frills that you get at a 4 or 5 star resort. The entertainment staff is excellent and the wait staff are a little unattentive at times. All in all I would recommend as long as you know what to expect from a 3 star place. Some people pay for 3 stars and are upset when they don't get 4 or 5 star service. You get what you pay for and they have ratings for a reason! I got what I paid for and I would happily go again!

The fish will eat out of your hand. We also had a great time at the evening shows. The only problem we had was that it took a long time to get our room and luggage. I finally had to go down and get someone to get our luggage out of storage. Also, the closest ATM is a couple blocks away.

As suggested, we brought our own cups. We were denied. Soda is hard to find; booze is plentiful. The beach is rocky; however, you can go to Doctors Cove beach down the strip, and it's beautiful, and well worth the money. Definitely do the Dunns River Falls tour. It was our very favorite. Margaritaville was hot, pricey, and average. The Jamaican Bobsled cafe has delicious pizza. We had a bug problem in our room. They sprayed, which seemed to take care of the problem. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful. The view...breathtaking. The desk people are rude. The grounds people are very friendly. We don't recommend getting the massage. OUCH! We thought we'd bruise for sure. Defnitely try the Rum Cream. Yummy! Always pay 1/2 what they are asking. I think, the Royal Decameron has the best bread on the planet. I lived on bread that week. We recommend R.D. It was a great value for the money. We tipped our housekeeper at the end of our stay. In hindsight, we should have tipped her at the beginning. The service at the beginning of our stay was wonderful; by the end of the week, I think she only made the bed, and brought clean towels. Next time we come, we'll just start tipping everyone right at the beginning...right from the 1st hello we get at the front desk.

This is a very good deal for the price. It is not an extravagant place, but for the cost you can't beat it. The staff, overall, was super friendly, the places (and bathrooms) throughout the resort were very clean, and the water was beautiful. The food was only so-so, and if you like GOOD food I would suggest staying elsewhere (breakfast was pretty good, and the bread was amazing, but the main entrees were not very appealing). Some of the hotel rooms are in better condition than others...this is definitely a 3-star resort. We had a great and relaxing time, but my husband and I would only return here if we really wanted an INEXPENSIVE vacation...we would have prefered to shell out a few more $ to stay someplace nicer.
