The service was incredible. The Jamaican hosts were very hospitable even down to the cleaning people. The bed was not very comfortable at all. I am a big man 6'5" and 290# and both my wife and I had trouble finding a comfortable position to sleep and the pillows were too soft and provided no support. The food was very good. You have to do an all-inclusive package because you won't be able to afford to eat while you are there unless you do.

My husband and I visited the Ritz for our 20th wedding anniversary and we were very impressed and pleased with our stay. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and the staff was wonderful. We reserved a garden view, but were upgraded to an ocean view and the view was spectacular. We purchased the AI plan and it was well worth it. We never had a bad meal. This is a good place to relax and that's what we wanted to do. We didn't even go off the premisis. They have different activities taking place throughout the day and they have live entertainment as well. We also had a couples massage and matrimonial bath that was out of this world. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you plan to visit Jamaica, stay at the Ritz Carlton.

We had a great time at this beautiful hotel. We did the "Key to Paradise" thing and I have to say that we really enjoyed the unlimited drinks and dining (especially for children who eat 5 times a day). The pool and grounds are beautiful and so is the beach. Actually swimming in the beach is not great because it's very rocky at the bottom. I suggest going to Doctor's Cave instead. The service was wonderful but not quite the "incredible" we have come to expect from the Ritz. Overall, a good deal and a very relaxing vacation. Also, very accomodating for families with children.

This was a wonderful resort. I mentioned that we were on our honeymoon, and they bumped us up to an ocean view room. Nice. We at our first meal at Mangos (near the pool area). The food and service were excellent. The only 'problem' we had was that it was closed for the duration of our stay. The other restaurants were great too, and in-room dining was not too bad either. There were not a lot of activities to do, but seeing as how we wanted to just relax, this was not a problem. Also, yes, the beach was really rocky, so bring some swim shoes. We really enjoyed our stay, so much, that we did not want to leave. We will definitely be back.

Other than a moldy smell from the a/c unit (which was promptly fixed with minimal intrusion), our stay was just fabulous. All watersports (catamaran rides, windsurfing lessions, sea kayaking) are complimentary. The real kicker was the live music at the lounge everynight.

The name Ritz Carlton holds a certain status in this world. While it was really nice I guss I expected something more, we stayed in a nicer hotel in Kauai. It was definately clean and all the stuff was polite but they should be for the price of the hotel and all the services there. Since we were advised not to wonder of thehotel grounds for safety reasons you can only do so much in a single resort. There are few restaurant on premises and they are all quite pricey, and food is good but not inovative or different. The most enjoyable food we had was at a jerk center on the beach which is also the most casual one. The pool is little small and crowded, but nice for lounging. The beach is also small but there is alwasy a nice breeze and it's nice to lay and swim. There are few water sports and ping pong table and for a long weekend of relaxation I would recommend it but for a longer trip I would go to some other island. Everything is so touristy and there is no way that you can experience a true Jamaica.

Its clear to me that the staff at the hotel are pleased to have you as a guest and they enjoy making your stay an enjoyable one. In addition to the service being outstanding at the hotel, the restaurants are also incredible. Each restaurant lived up to its reputation and exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay at the Ritz Carlton Montego Bay on my return trip.

We had never been to Jamaica before and didn't know exactly what to expect. Concierge desk provided information in advance of our arrival and made dinner reservations as well. I too would suggest the Key to Paradise plan (all-inclusive). I was a bit concerned that it only allows 3 3-course meals per day and unlimited beverages. It was more food and drink than we could handle. Meals are expensive though and worth the package price. They charge everything to your room and then remove it, leaving just things not included - Wine by the bottle, Very high end liquors and additional gratuities you add. Food and beverages temporarily posted to the room were usually $300 per day for 2 of us. The White Witch Restaurant was delicious and Jasmine's is very elegant. We went for 3 nights and I found that more than enough time to fully relax. Other tourist things to do are far away and we are not group tour type of people so we stayed at the Ritz the entire time. Staff was very friendly. Just about everyone replies "My Pleasure" when you say thank you. Will look to other Ritz resorts in the future.

It had been nearly 10 years since last visiting Jamaica..and my how things have changed for the better. The Ritz Carlton was fantastic. The employees go above and beyond the normal Ritz level of service. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The room quality is what one comes to expect when staying at a Ritz..only with a Jamaican flare. The on-site restaurants were quite good as well. Not knowing much about the island, I relied on the concierge desk for just about everything..and they were on point.

Although the beach is not very big, it has plenty of chairs, umbrellas and cabanas. We loved this hotel and all the staff and are looking forward to returning. We did the Key to Paradise which is their version of all inclusive which is worth every penny.

We were there to relax and that's exactly what happened. The resort had a good-size pool. They had people to set up chairs at the pool or on the beach. The beach was small and a bit rocky. Les, the tennis pro, was a lot of fun. We played almost everyday either at the daily clinic or by ourselves. The gym was too small. There were 9 cardio machines and no space for stretching. It was crowded so we had to wait to work out. The spa was nice. We got the couples massage($200+ for 50 minutes), and it was just average. The food at the Ritz was ridiculously expensive. Appetizers were at $15 with entrees $30-40. They have an all-inclusive option, which we took. The food was very good with beautiful presentations. I highly recommend the seafood entrees. Breakfast was a buffet that had a decent assortment. The AI deal includes alcohol, so is really worth it esp for people who imbibe. The Ritz is not near anything, so it would be difficult not to eat at the resort. We had cocktails at the White Witch clubhouse, which had awesome views of the Caribbean sea. We went off the resort one day to do a canopy tour, which was fasntastic. We drove through the "Hip Strip" enroute to the canopy. The Hip Strip consisted of souvenir shops, restaurants, and hotels lined up right next to each other. The hotels looked run-down and dirty. When we came back to the Ritz, I knew we had picked paradise. For relaxation, pick the Ritz.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ritz Carleton immensely. The staff was very professional, warm and friendly. My suite was immaculate, spacious and beautifully decorated. The landscaping for the consists of very manicured lawns and palm trees which seemed a bit artificial, not as tropical as I would have liked, but very well maintained and clean. It was the best way to celebrate my 40th birthday and I definitely plan to return very soon.

Simply put, this place is fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend getting the all-inclusive "Key to Paradise Plan". We got it, and based on the prices I saw for drinks and food, we easily would have spent 3 times what we paid for the plan. The beach is a bit small, and there are a lot of rocks in the water, so bring some water shoes if you plan on hanging out at the beach. The service was fantastic. They really go out of there way to make every interaction exceptional. We can't wait to go back!

We went down to celebrate my b-day and wound up having incredible weather in the middle of rainy season and everything was fabulous. The staff went out of their way to say hello to us and everyone knew us by name and even off-duty out in the shops in public would say hello to us. Very friendly, very courteous and polite, and also very efficient. We wanted for nothing while we were there. The ONLY drawback for the entire weekend was also a shining moment on the part of the staff. We called for a shuttle from Margaritaville, but that club failed to follow through(they are not associated with the Ritz) so the bellhop went out of his way to get us a cab to take us down and back. Another review was complaining about the TV, but honestly the only time we watched it was for CNN in the morning and then it wasn't on again for 24 hrs because there was just so much to do. Also the best part of the weekend was just opening up the doors at night and listening to the night noises. The AC vents are placed in such a position that you don't get bombarded with the humidity so it's a nice cool breeze and the sounds of the ocean.

We were pampered like queens and kings. Food is very expensive but wonderfully made! It will be a benefit to get all inclusive meals. The only thing that we were not satisfied with is that a hotel with such excellent service does not provide free shuttles to downtown areas so that you can see the culture and shop. Best place to shop for souveniers is at the airport.

i've been to two separate weddings here in the past six months and had a blast both times. the place is laid back, people were friendly, golf course was great and the bar was fun. it's an easy trip as there are direct flights from baltimore. the beach was nice with plenty of help around to serve you. the pool got a bit crowded but i'm more of a beach person. the grounds were nice and the price was cheap compared to most Ritz Carletons. my wife was a big fan of the salad bar with the fresh mahi-mahi and i liked the jerk shack. would love to go back there again.

The Ritz Carlton in Montego Bay is probably one of the nicest resorts in Jamaica, but it is overpriced and not worthy of a 5 star rating. The service is questionable and inconsistent. The rooms, along with the furninshing, are modest. The air conditioning in our room while always set to "high" and "coldest" never cooled the room adequately. The television in the room had lousy reception and no HBO. The only thing within walking distance is a small shopping center which is hardly worth the walk. The resort offers virtually no entertainment and the "daily activities" were not very exciting. The resort's beach is very small and full of rocks. Cabs and tours were all overpriced. The only thing I'd recommend would be the horseback riding at the Rocky Point Stable (located at the Half Moon Bay Resort about three or four miles from the Ritz).

I can't say enough good things about the Ritz-Carlton at Rose Hall, Montego Bay. My wife and I went last year for our first anniversary and loved it so much we went back for our second. I would say that the one thing that impressed me most of all was the friendliness and hospitality of the staff, and that fact that almost all of the employees refer to the guests by name. I am completely baffled as to how the employees remember and refer to each guest by name. It made my wife and I feel very comfortable and welcome. We plan to return as often as possible.
