The only good thing about this hotel is location, other than that, nothing is good. The bed is extremely hard, and they didn't change the sheets in a week. There is no wake up call service, and the alarm clock is not working, so if you have a early morning flight, forget about this hotel. All male employees in the reception have poker faces, like we owe them some money! however there was a young lady was nice and helpful.

Although it is not in the center of tourists' attractions, we found its location very convenient. The train from the airport goes to the Sants station on which this hotel is located. The metro station is also right there, and the tour bus which one can hop on and off stops right in front of the hotel. The hotel itself was very comfortable too, although our room was not very well vacuumed.

We stayed 5 nights in the end of September. Clean, comfortable, quiet and conveniently located. (Not in the touristic area though.)15-20 minute subway ride takes you to downtown areas. Downsides: Air conditioning was not very powerful (but acceptable). We did not get CNN (TV) for a few days due to a signal problem.

The Barcelo Sants Hotel is located right above the major train station in Barcelona, Barcelo Sants, so both trains and buses arrive there. It is highly convenient if you're arriving late via bus or train. The hotel itself is great. I usually don't expect much from European hotels, but this was a major exception. The room was big, the bathroom was big, we had a king size bed, and fresh fruit was waiting for us in our room. The staff is courteous, accomodating, and very friendly. They kept stored our bags at no extra charge the last day that we were there and the use of their computers to access the Internet was free. The location is super convenient if you're going to be using the Metro to get around the city. If not, taxis and buses are also accessible from the hotel. I would definetely go back there and stay there again.

A great value for overnight. The metro station located just below, is the main strength of this hotel. No concierge (at least we didn't get the chance to meet him during our 4 nights' stay). No one to handle the luggage. We had to wait 15mn to check in. Once in the room, we asked for the key of the safe (chargeable of course). The reception invited us to come down and get it by ourselves as they were too busy at 4pm.

I just came back from a 5 day trip to Barcelona. The hotel was very conveniently located, loved everything except for the air conditioning. It was hot all day, all night. Especially after taking showers. Also the hair dryers were terrible and located over the bidet(is that the correct spelling?) so you literally had to kneel on it to use the thing. Other than that room was clean, room service was very fast, and I thought it was a good value.

Hotel provided very easy access to buses, trains and metro. We were able to get around Barcelona very easily and cheaply from the hotel. Very clean hotel but very hard pillows and the room never quite got cool enough even with the curtain drawn during the day to keep out the sun. Hotel restaurant pricy but plenty of places to eat close by. Was very quiet and you would never know that the station was directly below the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful.

This hotel,I like to call the "Bates Motel", was dirty and disgusting. We spent 4 hours trying to get out of Barcelona because we hated this place so much! I did not even want to sit on the bed, let alone rest my body under those covers. The staff was rude and did not seem to care that we were unhappy with our stay. Strongly DO NOT recommend this "luxury hotel". YUCK

Located above main train terminal with access to hop on hop off bus and direct line to the airport. This worked out great for our short one day stay. The beds were overly firm and the airconditioning did not keep up with the heat. The automated wake up call system did not work. This could have been a disaster as we were counting on it to catch our plane, luckily we woke up early enough on our own.

When I read previous reviews regarding the great location they seemed to good to be true. But they were. This hotel is located directly above the train station. Very easy access to/from the airport. The on-off tourist bus stops right outside the train station. The hotel lobby is spacious and the bar drinks are generous. The room was larger than expected (we just came off a RC 14-day transatlantic cruise. Hotel staff had excellent English and were very polite and helpful. That's the good news. Of course, the hotel is not totally perfect. So here are the improvements we included in our comments to the hotel management. The beds were very firm. For reference, I'm a backpacker. We had a West room and it was very hot in the afternoon even though the outside temperature was only 20C (not sure how that converts to Farenheit but 28C is about 82F) on the hottest day. The windows do not open. Overall we loved our stay in Barcalona and would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The only negatives were the indifferent front desk service and the relatively bland neighborhood that surrounds the hotel, though there is a decent little park directly across the street. You can't beat getting on the train at the airport and basically being dropped off in the basement of your hotel, however. Rooms were good size for Europe and included a bidet.

It's not located right in the city center, but you can get just around everywhere in the city via the subway and be there within 3-5minutes. It's proximity to the Barcelona train station makes it easy to travel to the airport and other destinations. The only complaint I had was that they charged 4 Euros a day to use the inroom safe, which was a bit of a turn-off. Overall, its convenient location and price makes it a worthwhile bet.

I think the main advantage of this hotel is the location which is a 20 minute train ride from the airport and just above a central subway station with access to almost all of the lines. It is a nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. We opted to only eat breakfast at the hotel once as we felt it was overpriced and there are so many options just a quick train ride away. I'd highly recommend getting the Barcelona card right upon arrival, because then subway access is taken care of for the length of your card. That alone justifies the cost, but there are some coupons as well. Just have to say one more thing: There is an open air food market (Boqueria) just of off the La Rambla (can't remember the name of the stop) - well, you'll see lots of fresh delicious fruits and chocolate (mmm..) however, if you walk to the back of the market, there is a FABULOUS lunch place - I mean UNbelievable and SO CHEAP! Seriously the best seafood I've had ANYWHERE - including the most expensive seafood restaurant there which we went to one night. We don't know any Spanish, but we could just point to something and they knew enough English to get us by. This place is bar style service and filled with locals and it's SERIOUSLY WORTH INVESTIGATING - it's really, really, really great. It's called Bar Boqueria. Have fun!

The tour bus and the Aeroporto bus stop right outside. The hotel was quiet and the lobby bar was always active. It was convenient as well as comfortable

the hotel staff was very nice and responsive. the room was also very clean; however, even though we were in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, the hallway was filled with cigarette smell. also, the sun shone into the room throught its gigantic window. at night time, the room was very very very HOT. there was no way to control the temperature inside. the hotel is centrally located, right above the train station and metro station!

The location, even though not city center, was great due to it being on top of a major train / metro / bus station. Access to Place de Catalunya was only 15 min. by Metro. Tour bus for the city of Barcelona stopped just outside the hotel. Large enough rooms and non smoking floor was odor free.

This hotel is located in the main Barcelona train station. The train system in Spain is extremely user friendly. We stayed there overnight since we had an early morning flight out of Spain. We were able to take a train here to the airport. Fair was E 2.40 each verses E 30 for cab fare. While food in the hotel was very expensive and the dining room didn't open til 8:30 pm, there were two adequate cafetrias in the train station plus other fast food places including a McDonalds. There were numerous other shops. I believe I read 35. A tour bus of the city stops there. It is one of those where you can get off and on for a one day pass. However, the area where the hotel is located is mainly a business and financial center. If you are a good walker, you can walk to the art museum or take a bus.

The hotel is very nice and comfortable. However, the Cyber Cafe computer system was down so I had to go to an internet cafe. However, the hotel deserves its 4 stars and perhaps the nicest thing about was that downstairs in the estacionwas every imaginable shop and service. Convenientlocation and accessibility of services due to the train station is a definite plus.

My husband and I just stayed in this hotel for the second time. We love it and have recommended it to several people. It is clean and spacious and the staff is great. But the best part is that it is located several stories above one of the main train stations in Barcelona. You can get a train to and from the airport, or catch a metro or bus to all parts of the city. The station itself is great, housing several restaurants, gift shops, bakeries, etc.
