This hotel will never be written up in a fine lodging magazine, but if you have more than one person in your party, are visiting somewhere in Tempe for several days, and don't want to spend an arm and a leg this is a solid place to stay. The front desk staff is better than the maids, the fold out couch was worn and upholstery stained - but the air conditioning worked, the hot water was always there, everything in the kitchen area was new and worked great. The free hot breakfast is a great plus, and there was also high-speed interent service, irons and ironing boards, hair dryers, a small fitness room, and a washer/dryer. If it's your money and not a business deduction - and you like a bit a space to move around others in your traveling pary - this place is worth staying at.

Only negative I can think of is that the "kitchenette" had no dishes or flatware- only a small refrigerator and microwave. Ample room. Kids have their own TV. Room was very quiet- especially since it is on the frontage road. Very good breakfast which saves going out.

We've stayed at other Hawthorne Suites and find them very convenient. We enjoy the continental breakfast for saving time in the morning and the easy accessability to our car. The hotel in Tempe had the same features but the room needed maintenance and some thorough cleaning. We had a small rip in the carpet and a smashed electrical outlet. The room was a little run down and the maid service not very good-we often didn't get basic things-cups, wash cloths. For the price and ease of travel, though it was OK.

I was impressed with the Hawthorn Suites Tempe. The room was very nice and the kitchenettes proved to be very useful. I was very happy with the service, everyone was very helpful and kind to us. The hot continental breakfast was also a plus. The hotel had a great location, especially for those who ride the public busses. The only downside to the hotel was the pool area. I felt like the location and size of the pool area was poor. Because of the small space there wasn't enough lounge chairs to lay on. Other than that the hotel was very nice.

when we planned our trip to phoenix we automatically chose Hawthorn Suites. We remembered the reasonable rate and comfort of the large room from the first time we stayed. It wasnt a tiny motel room that most people settle for. I was very roomy and with 2 kids the division of the 2 rooms was great. The kids were able to sleep in one and us in the other, decent privacy.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that the Hawthorn Suites offered a hot buffet breakfast. We booked two rooms and in one of them we had trouble with a TV. A call to the front desk brought hotel personnel immediately to the room. The rooms were spacious, affordable and pleasant. We look forward to staying in other Hawthorn Suites in the future.

Very nice place to stay. Loved the idea of having a living room and bedroom seperate with a TV in each, so my son and I could watch whatever we wanted. Very nice breakfast, not just a continental, but bacon or sausage, eggs, waffles, fruit and the works. Conveniently located right on the Freeway, but entry to Motel was not accessible if traveling west. Friendly and couteous staff
