We stayed there 5 nights and we had excellent service. The staff was friendly and any requests we had (like extra towels etc) was quickly brought to our room. I am very particular about a clean hotel, and this was clean. The breakfast in the morning was hot and tasted good. We would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.

I was never able to get wireless service at this hotel to work. The A/C never really kicked in enough to cool the suite enough. I was on the backside of the hotel so had the noise of the FED EX trucks to listen too at night.

The Hawthorne Hotel was in a good location from the airport. The entrance was adequate as well as the room. Service was fair. The breakfast was adequate but nothing over and above. The room had cockroaches in it which I informed the front desk when leaving. I wouldnt have rated this hotel as high as you did and I would be able to recommend it to anyone as well.

The complimentary breakfast buffet was great!! Much better than the traditional continental breakfast. The free internet access was also a huge plus. Other than that the pool was sub-par, the room was simple but the kitchenette was nice and water pressure in the shower was very good. Overall, no real complaits.

We got stuck at DFW airport and needed a place to stay. Expedia hooked us up with Hawthorn Suites. We (me my wife and two year old son) had been at the airport all day. Hawthorn Suites provided a nice room with a crib that was comfortable and clean. Also free internet service was a nice touch.

My husband and I stayed at the Hawthorn in Dallas for 5 days (me, 3 days). The hotel was very clean (although one lady was ranting about bed bugs in 3 different rooms), the staff friendly, and the price just right. The breakfast was great, the beds comfy, and free internet access a plus. The only complaints I have for the hotel are the following: 1. The hotel shuttle does not run regularly. My husband came after me and did not realize this so was waiting for a shuttle that never came. 2. Our phone had a serious problem. It rang the first morning at 6am, 6:30am, and 7am. I complained to front desk who said that maybe we put it on wake-up call (trust me, we did not). Also, when a friend called for us, the phone didn't ring sometimes, and when we picked up other times, all we got was a dial tone.

The staff was couteous & the Shuttle service was available and on time! All of this - PLUS the low cost - I'll certaily be back!

The Hawthorne Suites in Irving Texas was very close to DFW Airport. Arrived a couple hours before check in and they allowed us to check in early. Hotel room was very clean and the staff very friendly. The continental breakfast was better than our breakfast provided by our 4-star resort we stayed at in Ca! The hotel also provides an internet service room, gym, and pool. I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the Dallas/Forth Worth area.

For the price we paid for the room for 3 nights, you would think the room would at least be a little on the nice side, but the toilet ran and it wasn't bolted down good. There had been holes in the walls of the bathroom that had been patched, but unpainted. The love seat cushions were torn and had holes in it. This place looked great in the pictures, but was really a dump. We requested a king bed and they gave us a double. We were very disappointed and will never stay again.

Let me start by saying the room was nicely appointed and roomy. It was clean and the matteress was comfortable. Housekeeping was prompt and unobtrusive. The complementary breakfast each morning was surprisingly good and choices were varied. That being said the staff was surly and less than helpful. The courtesy shuttle was far from prompt and not reliable. Worst was the elevator, if you stay on the second or third floor you may feel as if you are taking your life in your hands each time ride. So for the money the room was a good value, but if you are looking for a good experience the staff here won't provide one.

We liked the room - bed was comfortable. Room could use some maintenance in shower area. It was great having a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, iron and hair dryer in the room. Also the message system was good. it would have been nice to have a little more information in the room, such as hours of pool & spa, breakfast hours, how to use the voice mail system. The lack of information made it seem a little "cold", not as friendly as it could have been.

The hotel was clean. The staff did not smile but were very prompt with everything. The room had very low lighting, and I don't mean ambeint. It was probably the darkest hotel room I have ever been in. We asked for brightr light bulbs and never got any. Beds were comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, fresh amd hot every day. And they never ran out even when we ate at the end of the breakfast hours. Elevator was very, very slow, and the building is not air conditioned, so the hallways smelled hot and smoky. Fitness center is tiny but sifficient. And although the property is next to DFW airport, we never heard any airplane noise.

Room was nice size and clean. The A/C was not properly working and the first night was uncomfortable. The condition was reported to the front desk the next morning. After being on the road all day and returning to my room at 9pm the thermostat had been moved back to 68 degrees, which gave me the impression the A/C was fixed. Not so. After returning the thermostat back down to 50 degrees, the lowest setting possible, I was hoping to get some relief. It never happened.

For the price, you can't complain. However, at no fault of the hotel staff, the location was rather noisy due to the airport and FedEx trucks, so I wouldn't recommend it for light sleepers. There was no landscaping around the pool since it's surrounded by concrete and parking lots, and the hot tub wasn't working which was very disappointing to the kids. Also, the lighting in the hall and our room was very dim. Two lightbulbs were out in our room when we arrived, but they were replaced by the time we returned from shopping. The beds weren't the greatest...tiny pillows and the sheets were thin and didn't fit properly. The gentlemen working the front desk was very helpful with directions to the Grapevine Mills Mall and provided coupons, maps, etc. Basically, this seems to be a great place for business travelers and those wishing to be close to the airport for a quick overnight stay, but if you're on a leisurely trip with the family and aesthetics are remotely important, keep looking.
