The hotel wasn't ready to check us in when we got there after 2pm. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The noise from the streets wasn't bad, it was the neighbouring rooms that were loud. Next time I'll spend the extra dollars and stay at a different hotel.

So so quality of serivce. Zero comfort of the room. Just wanted to make sure that fellow travelers do not make the same mistake as we did.....

We only stayed at this hotel for one night. The service was good and the room and bathroom were clean. The only downfall of this hotel was the location and the parking garage. To get to the good shopping area on Robson Street, you have to walk a couple of blocks past some bums and "hole in the wall" type stores. There are also not many nice restaurants nearby unless you have transportation. The underground hotel parking garage looks obscure because you have to enter through the dirty alley. Other than that, once your car is parked in the gated garage, it is safe.

As usual, we enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Chateau Granville. We stay here almost every time we're in Vancouver. Its located on busy Granville st., which is Vancouver's "strip" after the sun goes down. Rooms are very spacious and offer great views of the city. One of Vancouver's better deals! Two bedrooms suites are worth the extra few bucks, nice and big!

Pluses: Free in-room wi-fi, location (proximity to Yale Town, Robson, GM Place), cheap parking ($10/night), free passes to a local gym (didn't use) and overall quality of service OK: mediocre quality room/comfort Minuses: If you have a family and plan on walking around the hotel, the area just north of the hotel is a bit dicey for kids with adult shops and related unpleasantries.

Parts of Granville street are somewhat seedy, but it seems like the neighborhood is changing over. We never felt fearful and we were all women ages 12, 16, 44 and 84. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of shops and short driving distance to many Vancouver attractions. We were very happy with the staff and the quality of the hotel. I would stay there again.

Hotel was comfortable and clean, and service was great. The walls where we were, (the Courtyard), were very thin, and we could hear everything our neighbor said. The location wasn't a problem for us, and we enjoyed the food nearby and the fun stores. :)

If you are going to Vancouver to party then this is the hotel stay. It is located on Granville St. which is where all the bars and clubs are located. Just know that parking is at the hotel is an additional cost that you will have to pay when you check out. The hotel room was great though. It was clean and comfortable.

The location of this hotel did not feel safe. The basement parking and back alley had homeless people and trash, Lots of tatoo parlors etc in area plus lack of places to eat. Lobby and hallways worn. Room was O.K.

rooms very noisy (street noise, even in 11th floor, feels like traffic is just passing by outside your window) curtains had mole stains(in sleeping room) and bathroom ceiling not in greatest condition hotel is just across from adult video rental...just imagine what kind of customers hang out there. description "entertainment district" suitable, but sadly for dull entertainment, mirrored by shops surrounding the hotel.

We are used to staying at extremely cheap and unimpressive motel rooms. We are usually only in the room to sleep and not "hang out," so why pay a lot? But the room was a suite for a very low price! We loved it! We would definitely stay again if we returned to BC. The only drawback was the XXX Adult stores on the block. But the hotel was great.

We experienced major drunken behavior/noises and significant street noise during our stay in the courtyard. The room was clean & modern, but very small and poorly lit. Phone instructions were not accurate/updated, no movies available on cable system. No fridge or mini-bar. Closet was half blocked off by a nightstand, no dresser. Restaurant food was marginal at best. Surrounding neighborhood is not family oriented - bars, clubs, tattoo/piercing parlors, adult entertainment. Location is good for walking to most attractions. One of the front desk staff was helpful & recommended an excellent Japanese reataurant.

don't stay in the tower! We stayed there for 3 nights & friday & saturday were horrible! the noise from granville is attrociously loud even on the 15th floor where we stayed. The hotel is at the end of Granville situated close to many bars & a youth hostel. On Friday & Saturday drunk yells & loud drumming could be heard until 3 in the morning, making it impossible to sleep even with the television on. HOWEVER our friends stayed in a courtyard room & it was wonderful. Those rooms are huge & very quiet all nights/days. Strangely they are also cheaper. So if you stay at this hotel stay in the courtyard rooms-they are quiet-huge & nicely priced..
