| The Calinda was great for a first time vacation to Mexico. The staff and service was great(especially if you tip a few dollars here and there!) The food is OK. It definitly gets old, because it is very repetitive. The all-inclusive plan was well worth it, even if you are going to go out to different restaurants a couple of times. The pool area is very nice, and it even has it's own semi-private beach that you can swim and snorkel. The rooms are decent. If you are not worried about luxury, then this is a great place to stay for the price! P.S. Don't drink or brush your teeth with the water out of the sink!

| This hotel has a wonderful view of the Pacific, nice pools and hot tubs, good drinks and friendly service; however, if you are looking for 5 star quality food, call a cab and go down town. The all inclusive is worth the price, but don't expect mouth watering cuisine for each meal.

| The hotel experience overall was okay. the views made up for several shortcomings. Sheets, pools, and jacuzzis were dirty. The building is dated and shows. Matresses felt like two box springs stacked up, not entirely positive this wasn't the case. Overall, it was okay, I might go back.

| This hotel will do if you want the cheapest package to include your food. It does have a great view! Pools are viewing the ocean. Service is bare minimum...you have to ask for all that you want and it really helps if you speak Spanish...at least have a few years under your belt like I did! Overall, if you want to save money to do activities, this is the place to go!

| Very nice hotel with secluded beach, gardens of local flora, open-air dining, multiple pools, swim-up bar, good Mexican buffet. Lovely tile in room; great bed. Wish room had ceiling fan so didn't have to run air conditioner unit. No coffee for coffee maker or cups/glasses, but nice little fridge and complimentary bottled water. Plumbing not well maintained - toilet ran, faucet spewed. Shuttle into town for small fee.

| Although the Calinda is beautifully located and maintained, I would not recommend this hotel. The beds are rock hard, the swimming pools are freezing, and the food is mediocre. The staff was fairly unresponsive to request for a knife, cup, etc. when they would run out. It's located a good distance from town and taxi rides are expensive. Not much to do there either. We ended up leaving after the third night and checking into another hotel.

| Great location, great bartenders. Food is ok, but nothing to write home about. We had to call the front desk daily because we could not get hot water in our room...we really didn't want to take a cold shower. Maid service was sporadic to say the least.

| Wonderful quiet beach, great snorkling just steps down from the hotel. Must take a cab or scheduled shuttle to get to Cabo which is from $10 to $24 roundtrip.

| I found the Calinda to be a very nice hotel. It is quiet and just far enough away from Cabo to be secluded. They had a very nice and helpful staff. The close proximity to a small secluded beach made it very desirable. If I had one complaint it would be the food and beverage. Both were adequate, but not very tasty or interesting.

| If you want to relax and take in the real Cabo San Lucas, the smells, the sounds and the warmth than go here where you won't get the feel of a resort for Americans found any where, but you will get the genuine Mexican food, and hospitality.

| Calinda in Cabo is part of a group of Mexican Hotels that cater to a cliental that is largely middle to upper class Mexican nationals. In this regard it is a great way to experience more of Mexico then if staying in some completely isolated 'gringo' property. To have a really enjoyable stay at this extremely beautiful and peaceful property you should: 1. Resist booking the full-meal plan - there are so many great places to eat in Cabo and the dinner and lunch food here is mediocre at best, 2. Rent a car at the airport as the hotel is about 5 km from CSL and you will want to explore (also saves on the cost of getting to the hotel from the airport), 3. Learn a little Spanish - just for fun as most (but not all) staff speak English, 4. Manage your expectation - this is not the Westin or Sheraton (which is a great property for those looking for all the luxuries and a largely US cliental).
