I'll give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and say that things just got off on the wrong foot. The second we walked into the room, we were assaulted by a horrible body odor. It wasn't what I was expecting from a 4 star hotel. Small room, tiny bathroom, and very expensive and mediocre restaurant. Best to leave the hotel for food!

The hotel his located just off market street and we were able to alk to China town and fisherman's warf. The only real downside is the cost of parking, its a tad bit high even if you are a guest. So if you do not have a car, this would be a great lace to stay

Hi! We stayed at Argent Hotel for 4 nights (end July 2006). We are very satisfied for hotel and room conditions, buffet breakfast and amenities (sauna; both not included in the room rate). The staff was very kind. The location was also excellent, in the city centre of San Francisco. We strongly reccomend it!

The decor of the hotel is wonderful. Hotel service was very pleasant and helpful. It was a little confusing finding the hotel but once you find it the exterior of the hotel makes you question the pictures that you've seen. Very close to all transportation- this is a plus. I didn't like having a room next to the elevator because you can clearly hear it going up and down and stopping- very hard to go to sleep. But you will still have a great time and have a clean comfortable bed to rest your head.

I'm a Bay Area local, but we needed a place to stay in the City for the SF Marathon. I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel was so convenient to everything. We walked to the Embarcadero, we walked to Union Square, it's just around the corner from BART, and around the corner from the Metreon. The staff was really nice.

This hotel was so much more than I expected in regards to the price per night. The hotel is just beautiful, the rooms are amazing and the view is something else! The location is perfect!Everything in this hotel is luxurious, from the lobby to the rooms. Approximately 3 minutes walking distance from the Bart & Muni (metro) station (the Bart practically takes you from the airport, SFO, directly to the hotel for $5) and a 10 minute walk to union square. Since I was the one to choose this hotel for our San Francisco trip during our stay I kept bragging to my husband asking him "Who is the best trip planner? Who is it?" So if you don't want to spend too much money by staying in the commonly known luxurious hotels, but are still looking for that style and quality this is definetly the choice! Enjoy!

The only things the Argent has going for it is its attentive staff -- they are the unsung heroes in this sad tale of a hotel, and the hotel's location. Though my bathroom was kept clean, the tiles and bath were dingy and neede to be re-srufaced. The furniture in the room was broken; cabinet doors were mis-alligned and could not be closed properly. I was truley disappointed.

I was traveling with my three yr old daughter, my sister and her two adolesent boys - I half expected to get some impatient eyerolling, but the service was flawless. The staff was so nice and extremely helpful. We were booked into great rooms on the 26th floor (lovely views of the gorgeous downtown SF landscape). They were simple, elegant, very clean and comfortable. Before we checked in, we had had a difficult afternoon of travel snafoos - after we checked in we felt completely taken care of.

This was my first time in San Francisco and I was very pleased with the Argent. Per my reservation, I was guaranteed a city view on floors 4-7. When I checked in we received a great room on the 16th floor. What a great view of the city. The hotel was extremely close to the BART Montgomery Station. This made traveling in and out of Oakland, a breeze! To top it off, the high tech vending machine in the lobby sells drinks, snacks and Ipods!

Can't ask for a better hotel. Location is ideal. Close to Union Square and most of the major line of transportation. No need a car as the bus, F-line, Cable Car, and the Bart is located within a couple blocks of the hotel. Service was first class. From checking in to hailing a cab, the staff was there to help. Room is pretty roomy for a San Fran Hotel and well kept. Will definitely stay there again when we go back to San Fran!

My daughter and I spent 6 nights at The Argent for our first ever stay in San Francisco. We had an amazing view of the city from our 24th floor room! Three times we received courteous and very helpful information (including excellent directions with maps) from the concierge. Great location - close to SFMOMA, Yerba Buena gardens, restaurants, transportation, shopping! Only minor complaint - dovet cover soiled with stains. Would surely stay there again.

We went to The Argent to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The desk clerk upgraded us to a room on the 34th floor when we told him of the occasion. The only problem was that parking is kindof expensive. I suppose if you're the type to go to a classy joint such as this you're prepared to spend a bunch of money on parking as well, but it was not something I expected. I did end up parking on the street around the corner and it worked out just fine. You may have similar luck if you don't mind moving your car sometime in the morning. The room itself was great, and had a beautiful view of the city. We booked a standard room, but the guy at the front desk was cool and decided to give us a better room with a good view (on a much higher floor) for no charge. The bed was large and comfy. There was tea and coffee. We brought our own wine. It was nice.

First, I would like to thank the staff at the Argent for making my sister's 60th birthday so special. With that being said, the Argent was great! Upon our arrival, they upgraded our 3 rooms to the 23rd floor. Needless to say the view was spectacular. Our rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and well maintained during our stay. This Argent is 2 blocks from the cable cars, has a starbucks across the street and is a short walk from resturants and shopping. We will definitly stay here again.
