| This was our first trip to Hawaii, so we weren't expecting too much from the hotel. We stayed in a nicer hotels before, but in reality how often are you in the hotel...We spent little time in it. So, if you want something cheap that will give you a place to sleep then this it the hotel for you. Don't expect a lot, and you will be fine.

| If you are looking to save money but be right in Waikiki this is a good option. It is not a fabulous hotel but it is close to the beach and all the shopping in Waikiki. Pretty much a no frills but reasonably clean place if you aren't planning on spending much time in your room.

| Hotel customer service is good. However, the condition of the hotel itself is bad...from the carpet to the bathrooms. Management need to knock this building down and just build a new one. When I chose this hotel I knew it's not going to be fancy but I am expecting that it will be a comfortable and decent place. I think that I can get a better 2-3 star hotel for the price that I pay. Elevator and room carpeting is really bad and the room smells muggy. The customer service is good but parking is just valet for $10/day. Well, what can you expect this is Hawaii. I think this hotel have a lot of potential if it will be renovated.

| The room was very small. The bathroom was not set up very well. The sink area was very small so you could not use it to put your toiletries on it. They only gave you coffee for the coffee pot in the room your first day. The following days you had to buy the coffee packs in the lobby. The free breakfast was not worth the trip up the elevator.

| A good start to a great trip to Hawaii as I was in transit from California to Australia. Great corner room with two balcony's, one facing Downtown and the other with an unobstructed view to the water. Service was good, however the hotel like many others in Wakiki are under renovations, with only two out of the three lifts available. One lift ride had 20 people in it and ended up going down then up before hitting the ground floor! But overall a great place to stay!

| convenient to so much! While the hotel in under construction, there's a wait on the two elevators, but the room we were in was not affected by the const. noise. Another guest told me his room was vibrating - they could use some updating - the carpets should be replaced. We slept with the (wall) a/c on and one of the lanai doors open every night. Quite comfortable. Computer room and laundry on premises was great.Front desk people are nice and knowledgable. I would stay here again, without question.

They also offered a continental breakfast which is nice while traveling to have an option of one meal a day that is free. We travel on a budget and this was a great hotel for the price we paid.

| The staff was very helpful-I needed to do laundry and utilize the business center. I was able to borrow and iron and ironing board when I needed it. There is a convenience store on the ground level that was helpful. There is also a very nice seafood restaurant on the first level where we had a very nice special dinner. We rented a car for 2 days and the rental place was only about 1 block away. The lobby is undergoing some renovation and that was a little confusing at first. Our standard room was comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed morning coffee and pastries on our lanai and watched Waikiki bustling around us.

| Great location at the start of Waikiki, close to AlaMoana shopping. The hotel experienced a power outage on our 1st nite, so we had to walk 11 flights to get to our room. The electricity was working in the room so was ok. Things under construction, so a bit messy in lobby area. Otherwise, good deal for the location.

| Tip: get the deluxe ocean view room with the balconies (lanais), it is definitely worth the extra money! I think I would not have rated this hotel so high without the ocean view and balconies. It is worn down and was under construction while we were there, so it is good that we didn't need to stay in the room during the day. The location is good, and accomodations & service adequate (though one day we had to go to the housekeeping desk to get towels). We appreciated the business center with free internet! The restaurant downstairs (Nick's Fish Market) is very upscale -- unexpected in the context of this somewhat travel-worn hotel. I would NOT recommend the free continental breakfast, it's much better to go out and get a buffet breakfast (with local fresh fruit) at any of the dozens of restaurants nearby or on the beach.

If you're looking for a great hotel, go get yourself a 4-star hotel and pay triple the price. Rooms are aging but very clean and comfortable. Very convenient access to the Waikiki area. Hotel service was very couteous and went out of their way to help! Would definately stay here again.

| I came on a package deal for a business trip. The hotel lobby is undergoing renovation, and the elevators, hallways are pretty dingy. If you're here by yourself and don't intend to spend much time in your room, the room is ok. But it sure isn't a place stay for a vacation. As others have mentioned, the free breakfast is very skimpy. I had to buy cereal and milk at the ABC store to not go hungry.

| We stayed at this hotel 3 yrs ago & it was comfortable & nice, but aside from the renovations going on to the lobby, it's not now what it was. The beds were so hard & so lumpy, you could run your hand over the bumps. We complained after 2 awful nights & were moved to the penthouse, which wasn't much better. Both rooms were run-down, not very clean, housekeeping was minimal at best, & we never got enough towels. Location is at end of Waikiki, so quiet & convenient, though.

| Stepping into the small hotel lobby was like watching an old Bogart film. One young fellow did an ample job of checking me in, albeit without much aloha charm. He was overworked in a unkempt area, with much in disarray. The elevator was suitable for the task and delivered us to the proper floor. Some floors were being renovated. We got off at a floor that had not received renovation. Opening the door to our room, the '30s decor was quickly apparent. The beds were hard, not comfortable hard, but like stacked and pressed cardboard hard. The toilet tank was cracked all the way across & was caulked to seal it. The tub was very weary, stained & pock marked. The hosed shower wand jumped off the hook and sprayed everywhere before I could get it under control. The air conditioner did not work, except to make a lot of noise. There was little in the way of a view, opening the windows only provided much traffic noise. Look elsewhere for a nice time on Waikiki..

| I am a local resident of Hawaii who has stayed in many of the hotels throughout our State. We had a nice stay at this one in Waikiki and would go back again. It is simple, clean, roomy and nice, with a staff that is courteous and friendly. Our room had views of the beginning of Waikiki on 2 of its main avenues. The parking fee is fair with valet only service. We liked it too because there were not hundreds of guests trafficking thru every hour like the bigger hotels.

| I came for a couple days on business, and chose the hotel for its low price (I get an allowance and if I go under I can keep the difference, so I aimed low ) The front staff were VERY helpful - I arrived on an awful 9am flight from Japan, way ahead of checkin time, and they had a shower, waiting room, and business center computers all for me to use until my room was ready to checkin. They also helped me with shuttle arrangements and other little things, and when I went to maui for a couple days they held my extra luggage in the interim. The room is basic - clean but aging. The bathroom ceililng was cracked and ugly, but otherwise the interior was fine. Everything worked. The balcony was not appealing because pigeons obviously enjoyed landing there, and there were droppings on the balcony. There is also no screen door, so even though I wanted fresh air instead of the A/C I couldn't because it seemed the pigeons would hop in at any time. The morning breakfast was very basic, but welcome, and the lady running everything was very sweet. I would recommend this hotel based on the excellent service I received. Be aware, though, it is no luxury operation in terms of facilities.

The staff is great, the rooms - a little dated - were clean and comfortable and it is walking distance to all of Waikiki. The price is right even with the $9+ daily parking fee. The ABC store downstairs is available for spur of the moment purchases. I'll be back on my next trip to Honolulu.

The only complaint would be that the mattress was of poor quality. However, the sheets, blanket and bedspread were clean, the tv and clock radio worked, and there was even Nintendo. Although I did not use them much because there is just too much fun to be had in Waikiki. Shops and bus stops are right outside the door and I felt very safe traveling as a woman alone. We were given an upgrade upon arrival, the valet parking was great, and the front desk workers were always so friendly. It was nice waking up every morning to the free continental breakfast and it wasn't hard to get used to at all. The location was excellent, right on the main street in Waikiki, Kuhio Ave. Everything was within walking distance...the shops, the parks, and oh yeah...Waikiki Beach. The weather was something else, even when it rained (which only happened twice and both times was less the 30 minutes)it was even warm. It was a "fun time to be had by all", and am glad I was there.
