| This was our second year back and it was another great experience. We cannot say enough about the service and attention given to us during our stay. The staff is the nicest group of people of any hotel we have stayed at. Our room was the best with room to rest and a beautiful view of the ocean. There was great attention to detail to see that our room was kept clean and we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We did miss the morning breakfast buffet this year which is now only on Sunday but there were plenty of options to select from to make the meal enjoyable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Ft. Lauderdale.

| I really enjoyed my stay at the Pelican Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale. The hotel is right on the water and the ocean view is fantastic. The hotel looks like it was recently, tastefully renovated. The foyer is beautiful. The back deck wraps around the hotel and is completely lined with rocking chairs. The room was beautiful and impecably clean. There is a nice restaurant, bar, and ice cream parlor on the main floor. The only downside is that every service is "a la carte" - the radio, television, etc. A very good hotel for families and couples.

It was a superb spot to relax and minutes away from the shopping areas. From now on, this will be our spot whenever we're in Ft. Lauderdale!!

| WE absolutely loved this property. It has such a Southern charm to it. Unbeatable for the price. They paid very close attention to details. The curtain showers have lace on them! Enjoy the lazy pool. The view is outstanding with wrap around porch and rocking chairs to enjoy the ocean just feet away from you. Just a gem. I highly recommend it.

We had a seperate living room with a balcony overlooking the beach. great view!! The hotel & room was extremely clean. Pool was nice and my son had a blast in the lazy river. Food & drinks were a little expensive as expected. Pool area gets very crowded early. Very nice place for families.

| We loved our king ocean view suite! Although, because we were there for our anniversary we would have liked the atmosphere to be a little more adult oriented. The concierge was not very helpful, When we asked for a good place to eat he suggested Blue Moon. We then asked him about other areas and specific restaurants we had heard about but he claimed to not know where or what they were? Isn't that what a concierge is for?? All in all, it was a wonderful trip. We found an area on the nice private beach away from all the kids and we were in heaven!

| This was a most relaxing, enjoyable experience. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Fort Lauderdale area. It is the only hotel on the sand with a wonderful porch and pool. I would totally spend the extra, very few dollars for a suite, oh the views, and the extra room and luxury of it were well worth it! However, please take heed, and note, that the hotel is not in the vicinity of ANY eatery of ANY kind. The hotel's restaurant is very good, however it is very pricey. Cabs are available, but to get into town they will cost you about $15 Buses cost a $1. A car rental is a must. The only negative I have really is that the hotel does not provide any pick up from the airport to the hotel, which will cost approximately $26. Plus I feel they do need to offer more of an affordable, and variety in their restaurant, especially if you have children. But PLEASE don't let this keep you away, it is the best in town!

| We were put off by the commercialism at this hotel. During the last part of our stay, the new owners were making a big splash to sell each room to private investors and closed the pool and several other attractions to wine and dine a bunch of real estate people. They excluded paying guests from the buffets, drinks, beach access, etc., so they could play up ownership to agents. We found that to be tacky and disrespectful of paying guests. The balconies are dangerous, i.e., low plastic railings. TVs are bare bones models, but the programming is convenient. Some exterior and interior surfaces are slippery with wet feet. On the dining side, the restaurant served good food at a moderately high prices for families. A short trip to the nearby Galeria mall and US-1 revealed less costly but good dining options. Bring your laptop for free wired Internet. Staff friendliness is not consistent.

| We had been disappointed a few years ago in a hotel that looked great online but was rather shabby in reality. And shabby does describe a fair number of Ft. Lauderdale hotels. But Pelican Beach Resort was just as great as it looks online. Very recently renovated, the whole place is lovely, well maintained, and still being upgraded. The location right on the beach can't be beat and the pool and lazy river were big hits with us and our 3 year old son. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. I highly recommend it to business travelers and families alike and we will definately return ourselves.

The front desk personnel were very friendly, considerate, and helpful no matter what our needs. The dining room staff, menu, and service are excellent. The ambiance from the entrance to each and every nook and crany is superb. I highly recommend this facility to all.

| We've stayed at the Pelican at least six times now and wouldn't stay anywhere else. While the prices have increased dramatically since they first opened, they still have the nicest set-up on the beach. The guest rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. Have at least one meal in the hotel restaurant and request a table on the porch--it'a a lovely, "southern plantation" type of atmosphere. The staff maintain the pool and beachfront constantly, and the lazy river is a real draw for families. We've always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. We wouldn't stay anywhere else!

| The Pelican was a great place to stay...clean, comfortable, and very pretty. The convenience of eating in the resturant or on the veranda was great...not any more expensive than the other resturants in Fort Lauderdale. The only negative thing I can say was that the pool and lazy river closed too early. We are used to hanging out at the pool after dinner. We would definately stay there again.

| My wife and I found this hotel to be very enjoyable. We stayed in an internet special room with an ocean/pool view. The room was clean and a decent size for the two of us. The hotel is one of the few newer hotels that actually is located on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale, most others are on the other side of A1A. One of the drawbacks of this hotel is that there was not any nearby restaurants or shops that you could travel to by foot unless you want to walk over a mile 1 way to Sunrise Blvd.

The staff were lovely and the room was exceptional. I had a little trouble with the toilet in the room and the maintenance man was sent up promptly and they called to make sure every thing was taken care of to my satisfaction. Very child friendly ---nice soda shop which sold ice cream for the little ones and all types of sundries for adults. I can't wait to go back and whole heartedly reccommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere reasonable and beautiful to stay at while in Fort Lauderdale. Very conveinent location for all activities.

The rocking chairs on the baech front porch are amazing and the restaurant was perfect. If there could be one complaint, it would be that the Lazy River closed at 5 pm - but the pool was perfect and very family appropriate. If you are looking for ultra-hip South FL swank, this is not the place; however, if you are looking for a stellar upscale family hotel - this is the best that I have seen after many trips to Ft Lauderdale.

| I stayed last night for a single night business trip. The room was nice, great ocean view. The pool and lazy river were nothing special, lots of chemicals in the water. The reason I chose this hotel was to get a nice ocean view patio to enjoy a cigar on. I had looked on the net when making my choice but didn't catch the no smoking part. When you check in they make you sign a form that says they will fine you $250.00 per each time they catch you smoking on the premesis (including outside and on your ocean front balcony). They also ask that you please report any smoke if you smell it from your balcony. That's the reason I won't personally stay here again, however if I was a family looking for a smoke free environment, that could be a plus.
