Nice out of the way place for a weekend getaway. Not easy to locate from the highway, but a great place.

This hotel is priced low for the area. The suite was roomy and well laid out. The beds were not particularly comfortable. A little peeling wallpaper didn't bother us. The last 2 days of our 9 days there, they failed to leave us clean towels and we had to call for them. Those days were on a holiday weekend and they may have been short of staff. The rush hour shuttle was a big help, but the walk to the metro station (about 10 minutes)on weekends was partly uphill. There are a few restraunts within about a 10 minute walk.

Overall a great stay! The hotel is older, but has been rehabed recently. The staff is nice. There is a nice bar/restaurant that includes a cont. breakfast every morning. The beds were really comfortable. Here's some advice though: I stayed here for two visits. The firt visit, my room was on the front of the hotel - no complaints. The second visit, I was on the back of the hotel. At 6:30am, every morning they allow all the tour buses to park behind the hotel to wait for passengers. 3 or more buses are parked with their engines idling!!! No one can sleep through that. So, FYI - if you do not need to be up that early, request a room on the front of the hotel.

The hotel was well maintained, convenient to the Metro, in a safe neighborhood, and convenient, with a complete kitchen including utensils. The rooms were clean, and well maintained. The service could have been better,,,we called the night before arrival and asked to change our room to a room with two beds, and we were assured it was taken care of, but when we arrived, we only had one bed and were not able to change to another one. They also had no record of the phone call for the change. Other than that, it was an awesome stay, and we would stay there again.

Rooms are large with kitchenettes. Area is well landscaped. Parking in an extra $7 per day. One can walk across the bridge into Arlington/Roslynn, easy access to Metro station and restaurants. The price is unbeatable for this area - have stayed their twice. Easy walk to the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial. The only downside is the place is difficult to find - it's off the main highway on a side access street parallel and not an obvious place to find from the address.

Recently stayed 3 nights at this hotel and found the room to be nice and the staff helpful and polite. The AC/heater unit was so loud however that you couldn't hear the tv when it came on. Also, the hotel was hosting a large group of school kids who were quite loud at times. My only surprise at checkout was that the hotel charged an extra fee for guest parking. Perhaps that's standard in the DC area but it seemed pretty chincy for a place that cost this much.

We were extremely pleased with Virginia Suites. Our room was large and quite comfortable. The kitchen was a nice touch, and we used it mostly for quick breakfasts before heading out for a day of sightseeing. The location was very convenient, with a Quick Stop just up the hill, as well as a restaurant. The Metro and a Safeway market were only a 10 minute walk. We didn't mind that is wasn't a full service hotel. We were there to see the sights, and enjoyed coming back to a comfortable room where we could completely relax.

I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend and was very pleased with the size and cleanliness of the room. The kitchen was a great convenience and economical for us since we didn't have to go out for meals after long days of sight-seeing. The bathrrom was a bit small, but very clean and there was a small dressing room attached to it. There is a weekday shuttle to the metro and grocery store, but it's only a short walk if the shuttle isn't running. The staff was very helpful and the shuttle drivers were wonderful and gave us lots of advice. I would definitely stay here again.

IF your looking for an affordable place close to DC this is the perfect place. It was convenient with 2 children to have a kitchen and a little extra room. The hotel offers a shuttle to the metro station but we found the walk to be pleasant and only 10 minutes away. There aren't any restaurants nearby so you either have to plan in advance or order food to be delivered. Another added benefit is the free parking, and plenty of it. I would probably stay again, if only for the location.

We went to DC for my father-in-law's interment at Arlington National Cemetery and were very pleased with our accommodations. It was just a couple of minutes away from Arlington and across the street from the Iwo Jima monument. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful. The trip across the bridge to the memorials was very quick and only cost $8.00 by taxi. We plan on going back just to enjoy the sights we missed and will stay here again.

My family spent 3 nights at the Virginian Suites. The rooms were neat, clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The free shuttle service to Roslyn Station and the grocery store made getting around D.C. easy and convenient (shuttle drivers were really nice too), although we walked to the Metro stop easily. We also walked across the street to the awesome Iwo Jima monument.

The hotel is not new but we found everything to be clean and neat. Room was quite large and we enjoyed having the kitchenette. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but, there is a nice place for breakfasts right across the road and several restaurants within walking distance. The Metro station is within an easy walking distance. Arlington National Cemetery is near as well as Fort Myer. We liked it and will most likely stay there again when we go back to the D.C. area.

Don't expect the usual "luxaries" i.e. bar, room service, etc. It is a basic hotel, located about 10 minutes (walking) from the Roslyn Metro stop (orange line). The kitchen is nice, but otherwise it is a down to the basics hotel.

The hotel is tucked away, a bit hard to find the first few times when walking back from the Rosslyn metro at night. There is no view from the windows except other apartment buildings. The staff was very helpful with suggestions and directions. The room fit our needs wtih a nice kitchen (grocery store about 15 minute walk) table and chairs and a sleeper sofa for our third person. Fifteen minute cab ride from Ronald Reagan, and about 6-7 minute ride to Arlingtron Cemetary. A Restaurant on site would have been nice but the kitchen was an asset.

For the price of a regular hotel room, Virginia Suites offers a suite with a queen-size bed, a twin-size sofa bed, and a full kitchen stocked with cookware and tableware. The hotel is in a quiet part of Arlington near the Iwo Jima Memorial (5-10 minutes by foot). There is a small grocery store that is less than 5 minutes away by foot and a supermarket that is a 10-15 minutes away. It is about 5 minutes to the Iwo Jima Memorial and 10-15 minutes to the Ballston Metro stop.

My wife and I stayed at the Virginian Suites for 8 days in October. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. The only drawbacks were the lumpy pillows and the dripping bathtub (it was in another room, however, and was not a distraction except when one was in the bathroom). We brought it to the attention of the staff as we checked out and they said they would send someone up to look at it. The hotel setting is lovely - just a short walk to a lovely park and the Iwo Jima memorial in Arlington Cemetary. There are two restaurants within a five minute walk of the hotel and leftovers can easily be kept and reheated in the suite's compact kitchen. There is ample parking on the premises for automobiles and the hotel shuttle makes morning and evening runs to the nearest metro station (which is walkable in a pinch) and will take you to the grocery store as well. The suites are large and comfortable and we will probably use them again if we return to Washington.
