I chose this hotel because it was close to a conference (1.3miles) I was attending. It was also very affordable compared to what I was suppose to pay at the conference hotel. I was very happy with the staff, and the room. A very decent, no thrills, breakfast was provided daily. Amenities included: jacuzzi tub (nice),wireless internet access (worked well),large fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable (very important). The area seemed very quiet, right next to restaurants and local drugstore. The staff was very courteous and very helpful. I have told my fellow conference attendees about this hotel and they are planning to stay there next year. I just hope they are quiet!! LOL

It is a quite, outside of the main stream business traveler environment. The location is interesting with the Sports Arena, small shops and restraunts within walking distance. The atmosphere is that of a small southern hotel. The only negative is that the wireless internet is not strong enough. I had to move the table into the open closest to get "good" reception. I got "low" reception throughout the rest of the room. I was there one night.

The hotel is very clean, although the carpet seems worn in some areas, but not so much to keep me from staying again in the future. It's location is good, and it's very quiet and peaceful.

The only problem with this hotel is the area it is in. The room was large and comfortable. The jacuzzi was big and worked well. Close to the Shark Tank for hockey games.

Great location! Enjoyed the free breakfast and jacuzzi. Hotel was overbooked and we were given a smoking room vs. the non-smoking room requested. There were minor maintenance problems. Needs some refurbishing. Would stay there again, however.

Excellent value for downtown san jose. Large clean rooms with jacuzzi, free wireless internet in room, complementary breakfast and dinner. Only downside is long(ish) 20 minute walk to the center of downtown; but it's only 5 minutes by car and the hotel is almost next door to the HP pavillion.

Great location with very helpful & friendly staff. A really nice hotel: clean, comfortable, and wonderful jacuzzi bathtubs. Price of room also includes a complimentary breakfast and also a light dinner at the hotel.

We stayed at several hotels while we scoured the northern CA area during our last trip. This was the BEST hotel room we had! After staying at a couple of other hotels, I wasn't expecting much beyond the ordinary, but the Arena Hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. We had a jacuzzi tub (no extra cost), a mini kitchen, a HUGE room, AND they included continental breakfast and dinner as well. (Not gourmet, but enough to make it worth going down to the cafe room for!) I would stay here again and *definitely* recommend it to others!

I was pleasantly surprised when we got to the the hotel. I thought the lobby was nice and comfortable. They had a place to sit{on our floor} and meet with other people to talk etc we were there for a Metallica concert and there were several guests that were also there for the same concert so it was nice to have a place to meet up with them. The room was nice. It was within walking distance of the hp pavilion so that was the main reason I picked this hotel, but was glad I did. I would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a hotel in that area. Very satisfied customer.
