Masters Inn was one of the cheapest ones available in Mt Pleasant, SC. It is just out side of Charleston and only a few miles from the wonderful beaches of Sullivans Island and Isle of Palm. It is just off the main 'drag' but was very quiet. There ae lots of restaurants nearby.

This is an economy hotel, so we didn't expect luxury, we were just needing a place to sleep at night while we were in Charleston visiting the College of Charleston and doing some sight seeing. So the motel met our expectations at a good price.

The staff members were wonderful - polite, helpful. That's the good. The bad - the place is getting really run down. There were more patches in the drywall than unpatched areas. No cold water in the sink - only warm to hot. Light so dim in the bathtub/lavatory area that I couldn't see to shave my legs. Fixtures showing bad wear and tear. For all that, the room was clean and the air conditioner put out ultra-cold air. The bed was average in comfort. As previously stated - the staff was the strong point of our stay. Towels were replaced, the bed was made, and trash taken out daily. Check in and check out were a breeze. If you're looking for a cheap place in a convenient location, this is it. If you're looking for comfort and style, well - try someplace else.

The service at the front desk was just fine. The room did not have: Coffee Maker. Hair dryer. Alarm. Enough toilet paper.

The Hotel was one of the cheaper hotels in Charleston. They must have shampooed the carpet before we arrived but the carpet never dried so it was wet the whole time we were there. The comforter on the one bed was also wet, clean but wet. Also they never cleaned the shower in the bathroom. I guess you get what you pay for.

The Masters Inn is a reasonable alternative if you want to save a little money in the Charleston area -- it's conveniently located, but is an older motel, so no bells and whistles, but if you're just looking for a place to sleep, it will work just fine.

I took the least expensive room and other rooms might be better. Mine was the first room on the ground floor near the office. Therefore there were lots of traffic and walking noises. Being further away from the office would have been better. Doesn't provide any shampoo only soap. Very convenient to downtown Charleston. Just a quick ride over the bridge, no more than 5 minutes away.

The hotel is sort of cheap-the floor covering in the bathroom has been ripped out, but the adhesive remains and is grungy looking. For $6.oo more you can go next door to Extended Stay and have a nice clean room with refrigerator and stove.
