| The desk clerk's first language was not English, and it was difficult to understand what he was telling me. However, he was friendly, professional, and helpful. The room was nice and clean. Restaurant service was excellent. Remember to get the clerk to validate your parking lot ticket before you leave.

| We booked this hotel to be close to Gatwick on our last night in the UK. We booked the connoisseur double which was wonderful (king size bed, jetted tub, etc.) After staying in other hotels with cramped quarters for the same price it was a welcome treat. I only wish we had more time to spend there as we arrived after dark and left very early the following morning. The only disappointment was that we were looking forward to using the hot tub/pool facilities, which unfortunately closed at 8:00 PM.

| Good location for early morning flights out of Gatwick. Free shuttle service, and decent hotel rates, especially compared to London.

| This hotel was just what I needed after a long trip back to London. The jaccuzzi tub was a welcome sight and the shuttle to the airport in the morning took away any worry I may have had in getting there on time. The grounds were very calming and beautiful, and the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable.

| Hotel receptionist at night (when checking in) was not very helpful. Room rather too warm and no way to adjust temperature apart from opening the window.Checked early in the morning but no eggs available at breakfast even after the buffet breakfast had been opened for 20 minutes.Nice old world hotel with character. Perhaps visited on a bad day! I would visit the hotel again in the hope that it would better than this visit.

| Bar and dining room very expensive (21 pounds for two drinks and a beer, 35 pounds for a $14 bottle of Estancia wine, 16 pounds for breakfast) and dining room food disappointing--quite ordinary stuff "tarted up," as they say in the U.K. Service good, hotel otherwise just what we expected--an old, charming country hotel near Gatwick. Like most hotels nowadays, though, they feel free to close advertised hotel features (in our case, the pub, forcing us into the ridiculously expensive and mediocre dining room) for weddings or other events.
