| Our entire family enjoyed the Melia immensely! The best part was "Bam Bam", the Kid's club with around the clock activities for our boys (6&8) directed by highly energetic Sussy. Strongly recommend a Junior Suite in the tower--so much nicer than our first room (a "deluxe" oceanview which was not at all deluxe and very damp). Loved Cafe Paraiso and the beautiful piano music!

| My husband and I just got back from a weekend trip to Cozumel. I enjoyed the hotel, people were friendly and helpful. We didn't eat alot a the hotel. In the morning before we left and maybe a snack in the afternoon. But the food was good. I thought the room was nice. My liked another hotel better. The only reason I would not return would be the water in the front of the hotel. The staff kept the beach clean the hotel is great I just love looking at that blue ocean and I didn't get to enjoy that this time.

| The hotel was definetly more than what I expected. The place is very clean and well kept. There is always a hotel employee around when you need any assistance. The only complaint: THE FOOD. I'm from a Mexican background and I expected a lot of Mexican food, being that I was traveling to a Mexican Island. Unfortuantely, this hotel caters more American food which does lack some taste. There are a lot of choices from which to choose from, but they need to have more Mexican food. Overall, the stay was very nice, the hotel employees were extremely nice and from the moment we got there, we felt welcomed. The view from our hotel room was Magnificent. We stayed in one of their Junior Suites, which was beautiful.

After the hurricane, I think the beach the sand has shifted and is now a bit rocky, so going into the sea can be a bit painful.

The staff bent over backwards to accomadate any and all of our needs. they would start early in the morning rakeing the seaweed from the beaches and cleaning the pools while preparing the first of many great meals and ended late at night entertaining guests at the piano bar or fueling the party on the beach. And no problems with the ice or water! My wife and I just had a great time.

The Activities Team was wonderful, very friendly and treated our daughter like a princess. We kept busy with activities put on by the hotel and lounged by the pool whenever we wanted. We will return to the Melia as soon as we can : )

| The Hotel was great! You couldn't ask for anything better. The staff meets and greets you at the airport for pickup. They help arrange tours and getaways (not that you even need to leave). Did nothing but relax. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from - as my grandfather would say "If you leave hungry, it's your own fault." There's 2 pools - one for adults only with a swim-up bar, another for the family and activities. The young activity staff makes everyone of all ages feel welcome. The beach is clean and beautiful - the water near the hotel is so blue! Just like the photos and all the rooms have beautiful views of the ocean. Sometimes you feel like the only one's there. We went for our honeymoon - both in our mid-20's - we loved it. Would definitely go back!

| The service was fantastic! When they say All-Inclusive, they do not just mean finger foods. They had 3 restaurants; hot food was always available. Beverages were always available. There was entertainment every night. Although, we did not have a need for it, I was none the less impressed with the activities they had for young children. I had 2 new high school graduates with me. They had a blast! They played volley ball, went snorkeling, dancing and one night there was a beach party. We were only there for 5 nights. Wish it could have been longer. They are already planning to return next year.

| Everything about the hotel was good, not great, but good. The best places to eat are definitely the two restaurants that need reservations. It is well worth the hassle to get a reservation in the morning to eat food that is so much better than anything in the restaurant that only offers the buffet. The view from the seaside balcony in our room was gorgeus! But, keep the doors to the outsides closed, otherwise the humidity will permeate everything in your room.

| I have just returned my my stay there. Overall my wife and I were happy with our stay. A couple notes from our trip. We had an ant and shower problem in our first room. At first the staff didn't want to give us a new room, after examining our shower they upgraded us to the Ocean view room. Bring a pair of pants and shoes. Cafe' Paradiso the nice resturant on site require both. We only did a few activities, but the ones we did do were fun. The buffet food was average, and reminded my wife and I of our college dining hall. You can tell that the island is still recovering from the Hurricane, and therefore the beaches were not in the best shape. The Staff was very friendly and the pools are nice. The on site spa was fantastic and realtivly cheap($63 for a 1 hour deep tissue massage). If and when my wife go back to Cozumel we will be staying here again.

The service is good. The rooms are clean, and kept well. The only draw back is the humidy of the room, but was still comfortable. The staff was always very helpful, prompt and polite. Especially to our kids. The cabs rides are only $5 to town. We rented a Van for two days but returned it, it was easier to take a taxi. Make sure you keep a lot of $5s and $1s handy for tips and cab rides. Great place to stay, we will definitely go back.

| We enjoyed our time there. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the food. We always felt as if we where guessing what we where fixing to eat. Did not like the Gourmet resturaunt at all. The Iguana Grill has the better food and there is no dress code. The water in front of the Melia is too merky, you can't even snorkel, and the snorkel trip that the hotel takes you on is to the hotel beach next to them. The room was nice we stayed in a junior suite. I think the excursions that you take are over priced. The hotel is beatiful though and so are the grounds. Everyone is friendly and will always ask how you are doing. The bars are great too. We will probably not go back though only because of the food. Otherwise its a good place to have a vacation and if the food was better we would definately go back.

We recommend the snorkeing on the other side of the pier, the water is crystal clear and you can see for 100 feet. Also, Wave Runner is good, taking a Jeep and driving the island is fun. If you do decide to go to Chichen-Itza, be prepared for a VERY long day! The bus ride is 6 hours to.. and four hours back. But, is work the adventure, as was the sink hole for swimming. We went with our friends who said this was an "Epic" vacation.

| From the time we arrived we had nothing but problems. Our rooms were not ready so they told us to come back 3 different times. Finally we got into the rooms but we had 3 rooms all on different floors, which prior to our trip I had called and asked them to arrange all 3 next to each other. The front desk said no problem. Then the next day we asked if we could switch if there were other rooms availabe and that was a hassle. My rooms door did not lock all the time, the toilet seat was half on and the safe did not work at all. Added to these problems all three rooms had the maid service barging into our rooms at 7 or 8 am while we were still sleeping. We would have the do not disturb sign out but that didn't matter. As soon as we left the rooms they would go and clean it anyway. The one nite they threw out expensive cuban cigars. When we went to the desk and to the manager of the hotel he did not want to hear it. He was very condisending and rude to us. The food was horrific at the hotel too. If you stay here you stay here for the not watered down drinks. Ohh and Cafe Pariso is a joke. As long as you wear pants they will seat you, the top doesn't matter.

| Reading the reviews ahead of time, it seemed like people either really liked this place or disliked it. I guess I'm in between. The food is OK, the drinks were great (we certainly got our monies worth, as did others, the bars were hopping). The entertainment and activities were also pretty good, although we didn't participate in a lot of them. The resort itself doesn't show any after effects of the hurricanes (with the exception of some trees), but you do notice it around the island (cleanup and construction). The people at the hotel are very nice, but they are really pushing the timeshares in the hotel and all over the place which really gets annoying after awhile.

The staff at the hotel was so eager to help and very kind and couteous. We stayed in a junior suite and the housekeeping staff cleaned it top to bottom every day. We got certified in scuba diving and had a short walk to snorkel right outside our hotel. We were worried going to Mexico so soon after the hurricane, but the Melia is completely renovated and beautiful. There are shows at the hotel theater almost every night that were very good. Overall we were extremely pleased with our trip and would return to the Melia in the future!

However the staff spoke very little English, and gave incorrect info regarding taxis, church times and in-town shopping. You have to take a cab to go anywhere. We were registered as Seniors but our rooms were 4th floor walkups in a bldg. without an elevator. There were lots of steps and not always a ramp. The beach is small and parts had small, sharp stones all over. The water was full of seaweed with a dropoff and unsuitable for swimming, however each morning they did try to rake some of it up.
