Deluxe double room was very spacious (especially for London). Linens and amenities were nice. Hotel charges for internet access. Very convenient location - walk to 3 different tube stations.

The Melia White House provides a nice atmosphere with the service to go with it. The hotel has full ammenities and London is easily accessible via the underground network, putting all of the major attractions within a 15 minute trip. Many key sites can be walked to if you are up for a full day on your feet. I found it to be a good value and would recommend it to anyone looking for good service at an affordable price.

I had read and heard that hotels in Europe are smaller, and that a North American 3 star hotel is the equivalent a European 4 or 5 star, so I booked the Melia after a lot of research. We were looking for something comfortable, close to a subway station, and close to 'old' London. We walked around for 2 days and the Melia was a great place to return to and crash!

Staying at the Melia White House was the perfect conclusion of our trip. Highly recommend you upgrade to "Royal Service" and be treated like a queen! I felt like I was royally pampered the 2 nights I was there and didn't want to leave! The service was impeccable. The room was beautiful, high quality linens. We had complimentary beverages in the private lounge area with wonderful munchies from 6-9pm. Also enjoyed a wonderful breakfast buffet and tea in the afternoon...all included in room price with Royal Service. I definitely want to go back!!

Great rooms for the business or leisure traveler. Good size bed in a beautifully designed room. Wonderful bathroom that overcomes its small size - and loved the shower. As a tourists, great location if you like public transportation. Was a bit noisy at night with traffic on main street about 100 yards away. Bed was a bit hard, but that seems to be the norm in Europe.

Although this hotel is reasonably priced for a London hotel and fairly well located, the concierge service was so bad that I would never go back. When we asked where we could go to hear come Christmas music at a church, the concierge told us to go to another hotel and either find a brochure or ask their concierge. When I spoke with the concierge at 9 pm the night before I was leaving and asked him to organize a taxi for me at 6:30 the next morning to go to Victoria station, he told me that it wasn't worth it to him to book a taxi for a short trip and that I could try calling the next concierge at midnight to see if he would do it for me. I was appalled. Additionally, although I was in a non-smoking room, so many people were smoking in the hotel that it traveled through the air conditioning/heating system.

This hotel is very convenient to the tube being just a block away from the great portland street station. For London the room was large and the king size bed we had was very comfortable. My wife wanted to make sure we get one just like it for the house. The bathroom was London small but acceptable. There was plenty of room for our clothes in the closet. We had a very enjoyable stay. I would recommend this hotel both for business and for holiday.

Other than not receiving phone messages that were left for me on the voice mail system I was very pleased with tthe hotel. Clean comfortable room. Well located, away from the hustle and bustle near Regent Park, close to the Great Portland Street tube station. Nice inexpensive (for London) ethnic restaurants just a couple of blocks away.

This is a hotel owned by a Spanish chain and refurbished to a high standard. The rooms are spotless and well furnished. The location would not suit everyone, close to the Euston Road, which is very busy at all times of the day, but the hotel is a short walk to quieter, greener parts of London like Regent's Park. But it is convenient for taxis, the tube and Euston station. The best feature of the hotel is its Spanish restaurant, with excellent food at reasonable but not budget prices. If you are bored with the major hotel chains, this is well worth considering, just slightly to the north of central London.

Everything about this hotel is first class - from the check-in process to the concierge service, from the cleanliness of the room to the room amenities. Spring for the junior suite accomodations - definitely worth the little extra cost. Superior room size, full English breakfast, coffee service, cocktails, etc., included in the price. Our room was impeccably clean. The hotel is well-situated in London, with easy access to all city attractions. The hotel is a block away from the Great Portland Street station, which is on the Circle, Hammersmith/City and Metropolitan lines.

My visit to the hotel was a pleasant experience. Modern decor and friendly employees. The rooms are small and not easy to get around in. There is room for a queen size bed and not much else. The room was perfect for me since I planned on spending little time in the room, except for sleeping. The Underground is less than a block away, which allows you to get anywhere is London.

My fiancee and I met in London for a romantic getaway weekend. We chose a good location with easy access to the underground. If you are coming from Gatwick Airport - take the Gatwick Express into London Victoria Station then the Circle Line Underground to Great Portland Street . The station is really just across the road from the hotel rather convenient. The Melia White house Hotel has a welcoming atmosphere. The foyer is charming with a hint of technical sophistication. Although we booked under a deal we requested an early check in and a king sized bed - both were granted much to our delight. The room was a bit small especially for my 6 foot 2 fiancee but comfortable and charming just enough for us.All the necessary ameneties were available e.g. satellite Tv internet access, mini bar etc. The showering facilities were good but they needed to provide the full complement of towels - no wash cloths. The staff was professional , courteous and helpful and provided great recommendations for restaurants and travel. They recommended a great Italian restaurant called Al Duca in Soho and Yo Sushi on Polland Street in Soho-sushi on a conveyor belt-great food, service. Efes 2 is a Turkish restaurant within walking distance of the hotel -great food too. If travelling by taxi always use the black taxi cab they have a meter and are more reasonable. We were charged double for calling a taxi service in Soho to take us to the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel

I've stayed at the Melia on several occasions and I keep returning because I think the location is great, since I don't like being too close to central London. Getting around was easy enough since the Great Portland tube station is right across the street. The staff was very friendly and the hotel, although worn, is very clean. The breakfast was expensive since we bought the vouchers upon arrival- 17 pounds per person(almost 34 dollars). The standard rooms are small but otherwise comfy. My only gripe on this visit is that I was given a smoking room since there weren't any non-smoking rooms available; and the smoking room I was given was extremely noisy, I could hear every car that roared by(all night long). If you enjoy long walks, then all you'll need is a map and a pair of comfortable shoes, since you can walk all the way to central London via Great Porland and Regents street. All in all The Melia is a nice, comfy place - don't pay for a bigger room if you're going to do alot of sight seeing, but do ask for a quiet room if you're stuck with a noisy one. I'd recommned it for a first time traveler or for people that spend most of the time out and about.

I have stayed at a number of Melia hotels throughout the world and have always had a great experience- this hotel is no different. The staff was incredibly helpful. The concierge went above and beyond to help me with arranging event tickets and dinner reservations. The wait staff was polite and friendly, and the rooms were beautiful with more amenities than the average hotel. There were even American plug outlets so I had no problem with my laptop and other electronics. The location is next to Regent's Park, one of the loveliest parks in London. There are a number of very good restaurants one block away on Cleveland Street. But the restaurant in the hotel is also very good. The prices of mixed drinks are very high at the hotel restaurant- about 10 pounds. So with the exchange rate to the dollar, each drink will cost about $20. But the cost of food is about average. They also serve traditional afternoon tea in the bar/ lounge area with scones and finger sandwiches. I was also very close to one of the Original Bus Tour's start locations and Madame Tussaud's. Overall, I love this hotel and do not plan on staying anywhere else for the price, comfort, and location the next time I visit.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for others traveling to London. Our room was attractive, clean and very quiet. The Hotel itself was conveniently located within short walking distance to the busline, the "tube" (Portland St. Station) and Regents Park. Only downside was asking for washcloths (none provided) and calling for small items such as ice. The staff, who I don't think are English by their accents (reception and bellman) seemed a little "chilly", but accomodating. Did not eat in or use the lounge as they were rather expensive.

The hotel sparkles from head to toe. Rooms are very clean, room service and maid service are good. Bar area is 'modern classic' with great, friendly, waitstaff. Price of room through Expedia was great value. You will spend a bit of money if you eat in, order room service, or drink at the bar for an evening. It is much less expensive if you eat and drink outside the hotel. Cabs can be slightly difficult to get at odd hours. Overall 8 out of 10.
