This was a very nice hotel, we got one of the sea view suites for the same rate as the garden suites. The room is one of the largest I've stayed in, and I've stayed in large suites before! For an all inclusive food is not that bad, however I do suggest making reservations for the theme restaurants every night, buffet is good only for breakfast.

Barcelo Premium Karmina Palace is a very elegant hotel with very spacious, beautifully finished rooms. The service was excellent in all aspects. The food very good with lots of selection. The hotel offers many extra ammenities such as billiards, exercise facility, spa, a few nice shops, tourist facility to arrange side trips. Karmina Palace is a great place to relax and unwind!

Our family with 2 boys 5 and 8 really enjoyed this hotel in April 2006. The pools are great, there is a wide variety of food, and free drinks all day and night can't be beat. The only thing it is short on are activities such as tennis and biking, which might have entertained the kids a little more. If your kids like to swim all day and you like laying by the pool with a drink in your hand this is the place.

Our family of 5 had a great time in March 2006. Our kids ages range from 12 - 3, and there were things to do for all ages. kids club was great, the kids wanted to go almost everyday once they went to see how fun it was. The staff in the kids club were terrific, they knew most of the kids names by day three. The food was very good with great variation. Although we didn't go to the reservation only retaurants, with 3 kids we decided to stick to the buffets. The entire hotel is extremely clean and the pools were terrific. They were a little cold at first but with the heat they felt great. The water slide was very good with lots of spead for the older kids. We would strongly recomend this resort for young families as the staff were exremely helpful and willing to make a few exceptions where requested. One tip would be to exchange your money at the exchange store in the Commercial (mall), it is very close to the hotel 30 pesos cab ride or 15 min walk. The rates are better for Canadians there than what the hotel offers.

My teen-age daughter and I spent Spring Break week (mid-March) at the Karmina Palace and found it to be an excellent family resort. This would also be a perfect honeymoon destination. It was peaceful, quiet and beautiful. There was no Spring Break college student contingency there. It was 82-85 degrees and sunny every day we were there. There were 8 pools connected with waterfalls. There was also an adults-only pool. There was a small private sand beach where kids could dig in the sand, jump waves and snorkel. The staff was attentive, friendly and competent. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and kept clean and groomed. Our room was large and was kept very clean. Our only complaint was the bed was too hard for our liking, but there were lots a pillows provided. The all-inclusive meals included alot of variety, so we never ate the same thing twice. There was an after dinner show with a different theme every night. All the guests children were invited to dance up on stage with the dancers both before and after the show. The all-inclusive plan included use of bicycles, snorkeling equipment, rides on the banana boat, and kayaks. There were planned daily activities availabaleand. The town is a commercial port and is not at all "touristy." The Manzanillo International airport was a small no-hassle type. We both agreed we want to go back to Manzanillo and the Karmina Palace again!

This was our 2nd trip to Karmina Palace and we had as much fun this time as the first. We were a bit disappointed with the check-in process (had to wait until 4:00 p.m. to get into our room), but understood the resort was very busy as it was the week before Christmas. This is simply a great place to stay if you have children. Great waterslide, kids club, nightly shows, etc. Our kids absolutely loved the "mini disco" at 8:30 each night. This is where the kids get up on stage and dance with the kids club leaders to various songs. We have boys ages 5 and 7 and they were standing in line each night to be the first on stage. Kids under 8 stay free! The weather in Manzanillo is wonderful. Manzanillo is at the same latitude as Hawaii and the weather is mild all year. During our trip, the high was around 83F and the low was in the mid 60's. No sign of rain during our 6 day stay. It was great to see that many of the staff members were still there from our trip the year prior (tells you that they are treating their people right). Don't expect the best food in the world. The food at the restaurants where you make reservations was very good. Everything else is buffet style. Would have liked to see them offer something besides chicken nuggets and hot dogs for the kids. All in all we would recommend the Karmina Palace and Manzanillo for any families looking for a great vacation at a reasonable price. We want to go back soon!

Great food, pools, and very family freindly - all kinds of interesting stuff to keep the children occupied. Small beach without any wave action, tends to smell a bit skanky at low tide. Plenty of live entertainment for adults as well.

Karmina is definately a family oriented property with excellent service. Hotel is fairly new and quite clean with large spacious rooms. Better attention to bathroom corners would keep them pristine. Most rooms overlook pools and gardens with oceanview as well. Staff is excellent. Bent over backwards to accommodate our purchased upgrade & placed us in a master suite when unable to fulfill an oceanview. Food is repetitious, but that's standard with most all-inclusives. Drinks are not watered dowm. Staff really enjoy children & will try to accommodate most requests. Pools & grounds are lovely. Beach is well groomed with nice waves, but if you want to "surf" just walk south of the property. Like a cruise ship, there are daily activities...check your schedule as some restaurants may not be open that day. We really enjoyed Karmina and if we travel to Manzanillo again, this is our property of choice. FYI: Sited Las Brisas and it is definately dated, needs some rennovation, but still lovely in architecture.

My husband and I went to Karmina for 2 weeks for our honeymoon - Manzanillo is gorgeous and so is the hotel - but ........... the beach is horrible there - it is very rocky,it is a man made beach for the most part - but it is gorgeous. The food needs alot of improvement - we were very dissappointed in that - we ate out at restaurants almost every night! As far as the all-inclusive, the drinks are VERY watered down - we were charged for Jack Daniels in our drinks since it was considered top-shelf, they do not tell you this is extra until you get the bill! The Spa however is wonderful - everyone MUST go there!
