I was nervous booking after Wilma and not sure the extent of all the damage, but this hotel was great. The staff was the best part of the entire place. The rooms were nice, location very nice, but the people were so incredibly friendly and helpful that everything else pailed in comparison. I would definitely stay there again!

We were here June 28 thru July 7, 2006. Everything was in good shape after the remodel from the hurricane damage. Newly painted rooms, new mattresses, etc. It appeared not all rooms were open yet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was better than most comparable resorts we have stayed at. Appeared to be lots of kid oriented entertainment during the day and the evening. Snorkel to the north of the swim area. We found plenty of fish, a starfish, and a sand ray.

Went to relax - this is the place - not close to town, the beach is pretty & quiet. Room very comfortable & spacious. Hotel was still recovering from Huricane Wilma & we were impressed with the progress. Hotel staff very friendly & helpful. When we checked in, we were given the wrong room type, however, they moved us to the correct room type the following day. Food was delicious. We would surely stay here again.

When we visited this hotel it was undergoing construction because of last years hurricane. So we never had a relaxing shower! The water pressure was horrible and it would switch from extremely hot to ice cold! The food was ok but the salad bar was constantly covered with flies! The room was very nice and the air conditioner worked very well! They always cleaned our room... we did leave a tip everyday. The beach was wonderful even though it was cloudy every day. The hotel was in a great location for the beach and the reef but it costed between $13-15 each way to town in a taxi... depended on what taxi driver you got! Everyone was very nice but sometimes hard to understand their english. Overall, we had a good trip but I don't know if my next trip will be back to Mexico.

The hotel looks really nice after being redone. The shower sometimes had little hot then cold spurts, but nothing really drastic. Water pressure was great. The maids were very accomodating. We only let them clean the room a few times, but they were always ready to give us extra towels, shampoo, etc. The A/C really works great! Having cable TV was nice. Food was not a problem. My husband prefers "plain" food and I like to experiment. We were both satisfied. Sand Dollar is the scuba diving company there. Rates were really reasonable and they limit the number of divers per dive master to 8 or less. They are somewhat conservative, but that was to be expected. The reefs are still largely covered with sand but the vis was good and there was lots of aquatic life. I saw fish snorkeling in front of the hotel I have never seen in 10 years of diving! Lots of places to sit around and read and relax. I would recommend this resort for a very reasonable price and atmosphere.

This resort is almost complete with renovations. Even though during our stay they were still fixing it up, we had a great time! The rooms are all new, same with restaurants, pools, and beachside areas. We were also very pleased with the food and drink! I think we were eating constantly! We have never been to this resort until now, and we read most of the reviews before we left and couldn't believe some of the negative things people were saying, but I would definitely say now that all of those reviews are outdated until you've stayed with that resort recently! It's brand new!

This was our second visit to Cozumel, first time at this hotel. The hotel was in great shape considering Hurricane Wilma tore through there 9 months ago. We really enjoyed the hotel and the ammenities. The shower had hot and cold fits, but it wasn't that big a deal. The staff was very nice and professional. The water sports were great - both in price and fun. We toured the island with the other two couples we went with, we rode on a moped and they took a jeep. If you're adventurous - take a moped. The moped was only scary in town, the drivers in town are straight from the looney bin! Riding around the island was great fun. The beaches on the southeast side of the island are INCREDIBLE. Absolutely the best we've played in. The beach at the hotel was still a little tore up, but I would expect in a few months it would be back to normal. Snorkeling, scuba, deep sea fishing and parasailing were all top notch. I caught a 30lb Mahi Mahi and my wife caught a 20lb Wahoo. Great fun. This hotel was almost as nice as the Allegro, but both so nice that its a wash. Reef Club is very large, so if it's high season expect a lot of company. Don't fall for the "Owners" pitch, but you may get discounts on your trips from the meeting with them. All in all, one of our best trips ever! Definately going back to Cozumel.

Main resturant wasn't open so every meal was serve at the reef regency area and had menus not buffet, it was nice but slow, this will change as they start to open up the rest of the place. They lost 15-20 ft of beach and all trees on the beach during the hurricane. went in 01, service has inproved and there has been a lot of expansion.

Even though the hotel is under construction it was wonderful. The parts of the resort that was open was very well maintained and we could tell that they are working very hard at getting everything up and running after the hurricane in November. The food at the ocean front restaurant has improved 100% from last year. Can't wait to go back next year and see what it will be like when the entire resort is open. The spa services were as good as I have had here in the US. Bring swim shoes if you like to swim in the ocean, it is very rocky to get in.

Our first trip to Cozumel. The staff did a great job entertaining us during the day. We ate twice at Vista del Mar. We arrived on Sunday and Monday night was the only night we could go, since we were not in the studios/ suites (VIP) section. A new friend from the suites invited 5 of us over the second night. We ate at Los Corales (Italian/Mediterreanean)four nights. We found plenty to eat at the breakfast/ lunch/ dinner buffets and I am a picky eater. The soda machines worked sporadically, but juice and water was normally available. El Marinero snack bar was fair. The diving with Sand Dollar Sports (onsite dive shop) was great. Easy drift diving, well informed dive masters. I did 4 days two-tank dives for $200. We rented a car for $60(tax included)from the onsite car rental to drive around the island. Stopped in San Miguel to shop. We had lunch at the Hard Rock, "smallest Hard Rock Cafe in the world". We were told that most souveniers could be purchased for less than half of marked price, when cruise ships were not in town. The gift shop at the Reef was reasonable. Everything was 20% off on Wednesday. Overall, this was one of the best vacations we ever had. We stayed busy from 8 am- 11 PM and were ready for bed. The rooms were fine, we were on the top (third) floor, no thatched roof.

We have stayed at the Reef Club twice. The most recent was May 2005, and prior to that was Sept 7-14, 2001. And during that stay, we did have to remain several days longer as we could not get back into the United States (home). The Reef Club did all that was reasonably possible, during that bad time, to make our extended stay and the situation less stressful. We WILL stay there again.

This was our first time staying at an "All-Inclusive" resort. The hotel was nice and clean, people were very friendly and helpful (a very safe atmosphere - for those with children). Nice variety of food, snack bar open from lunch on -serving Nachos, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, mozz.sticks, etc. The beach front was gorgeous. They had shows every evening - the problem we found, they started at 9:30pm. We commented to the hotel that in the future, maybe they could have shows start a little earlier so that families with kids can enjoy the shows also. The only other problem we found was there were no buses to take you into town, it cost $15.00 each way to go into town.

As far as a 3 star hotel goes, Reef Club was aswome. I was a little uncertain after reading the other reviews on what to expect, but we had a blast. The restort does a lot of activities and you get a lot for your all inclusive. The food, yes, wasn't 5 star rating, but you're in Mexico not America. It was fun trying new things. I would definitly recommened the hotel to my friends and family. I'm already planning a trip back with my children.

The room was nice, clean and pretty view. The beach front was not well kept, i.e., the sand was hardly swept up of debri. Service was poor and staff were not very friendly. I said good morning first, all the time. The charges for the policies listed, were exuberant. For example, my bracelet fell off within two hours of being there, I was charged a lot of money for a piece of plastic. There seems to be no exceptions made to keep guests happy. There was no security at the resort that I was aware of.

There wasn't anything WRONG, per say, with the hotel, but the 'all inclusive' deal wasn't really worth it. When you are slopping beans and old fruit on a plate, all you can eat isn't very enticing. The rooms were okay, although it took 4 hours to cool with the very small air conditioning unit. Overall a GREAT trip to cozumel, but not b/c of the hotel.

I must say that I disagree with every negative remark that I have read about this hotel. My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at the Reef Club and we couldn't be happier about our trip. Not only was the service exceptional, the atmosphere was great. The hotel is clean, family and adult friendly, and safe. There was always something fun to do, or an empty hammock to hang out in. The food wasn't the best cusine I've ever eaten, but all the food in Mexico is that way(what do you expect, it's a different country!) There is always enough of something at every meal to stay full, and the snack bar is almost always open if youy prefer hamburgers and fries. The drinks were far from weak, and the drinking water comes from bottles. The hospitality desk made arrangements for us to take several excursions and never once did we have a problem. The best part of the hotel has to be the secluded beach, within a few yards of our room we were able to experience the best Cozumel has to offer. I would highly recommend this hotel (I already have), and we plan to return soon. Bottom line: Don't believe the others, find out for yourself how great the Reef Club truly is.

Overall a pleasent experience and very reasonably priced. I recommend renting a car for 50 bucks and taking a day to drive around the island. There are some remote areas which were gourgeous.
