| we did the all inclusive. the food is bland and st. maarten is the type of place where the restaurants are part of the attraction. unless you're going to drink alot at the hotel, you may be better off going out for dinner and a few lunches and eating breakfast, and some lunch at the hotel. there are 3 restaurants, the buffet which is o.k., the caribean restaurant which is o.k., the italian restaurant which is below average. i would not recommend to pay for the restaurants there are much better options, but you'll probably need to rent a car or cab it to get there. the beach, pools and and activities offered were very good. we had a mountain side room, the dogs barking and rooster crowing was almost unbearable and the view was ugly, a beach/pool side would have been well worth it. the room was kept clean and was decent, didn't smell any mold which i read in other reviews. the spa in the hotel was great. the activity center was great as they offered excursions at a reasonable price. small casino, there are better ones if you're into that. I couldn't not recommend the place, but if i went back i'd stay somewhere else

| Food was sub par in the buffet, evening dining with reservations afforded more variety and better quality food. Beach was not good for children. Very steep drop off and only a few feet from shore was 5-6' deep. No wait staff around pools or on beach like most resorts. Casino very small, lightly used during our week

| The hotel lobby is open to the ocean which is beautiful, but outdoor exposure caused the hallway & the room we stayed in to smell musty. However, the room was clean & the bed was comfortable. If you don't mind walking, you can walk on the beach for approximately 15 minutes to reach Front Street, where there is tons of shopping, restaurants & bars.

| The views from the resort area were absolutely gorgeous. Everything that you need is at the resort so there's no need to venture out. Food at each of the restaurants is excellent. Traffic on the island is sporadically horrible and driving is sometimes an impossibility. Hotel staff could have been a little more accommodating. Not as friendly as we would have liked.

| Excellent service, with great view on the mountains and the beach. The only drawback is that the beach water gets to be very deap very quick. We have to little kids and we could not go in the water. We had to go to the Le galion beach wher the water is more shallow and we spent a nice day there.

| Lower level dining area and bar open to the pool and beach, could hear the ocean from the table. Buffets pretty good. Dinners quite good, inside regular restaurants, Christmas eve dinner was lovely. Newly renovated, and beautiful floors, granite and wood inlay, and all the room furniture handmade mahagony, in pleasing shapes and smelled like new wood is supposed to. The only thing was AC system did not dehumidify, so room was always a bit damp, but hey, it's the tropics! Sheets and towels were clean, floors mopped every day. Each room has little balcony.

| WOW! Pictures on the website are normally better than what you actually get, but not in this case. The hotel was simply beautiful. Our room was spotlessly clean and the housekeeping service was excellent. We were so impressed that we're talking of our next trip to St. Martin and will certainly stay here.

| My husband and I were on our Honeymoon , this wonderful resort made it so very special for us. The people in Sint Maarten are the most welcomming , and warm hearted folks around . The resort is newly remodeled with breathtaking views from every angle . The housekeeping staff visit your room twice a day, if need be. The Great Bay Beach resort is what visiting a tropical paridise is all about!
