| This hotel provided all that the traveler needs for a very reasonable price. Large, attractive lobby and patio areas that are clean and stylish. Rooms are modest, but have pleasant views of the mission area of downtown Ventura, at Main Street. This area is walkable to restaurants, coffee, shopping, church, and the glorious ocean.

| Rooms are old but generally well kept. They claim to have high speed internet, but didn't have cables. Forgot my razor, called down for help, they had run out. The handle on the door into the wing of my hotel was gone, had to put my hand into a hole in the door and be careful not to slice my hand. Continental breakfast was basic breads, not interesting or appealing at all. I would not stay here again unless I knew they'd taken care of details. A 2 star hotel at best

| We requested a non-smoking room. The room we were first assigned smelled awful of smoke and didn't have a non-smoking placard on the door. So we went to the desk and the desk person said there were no other rooms available. But, after working on the computer a few minutes, assigned us another room that was fine. Not exactly the welcome we wanted. Also, don't get your hopes up on the wine and cheese reception--the boxed wine wasn't that great (we had to request replenishment as when we arrived the carafe was empty), the saltines were mostly broken, and the Cheese-Whiz-type spread that was offered was, well, Cheese-Whiz-type spread. And no other guests to talk with. But did like the fireplace and working tall case clock in the lobby. This hotel is located in the right place for visiting Ventura and its interesting antique stores and Mission.

| Our bathroom sink didn't drain, the shower was weak, message light on phone blinked even though we didn't have a message there. Maid tried to enter room on the morning of our check-out. Front desk clerks were not very professional in demeanor. When we pointed out the room flaws upon our check-out, the clerk simply thanked us, at which point I realized that a more trained staff would have thanked us for informing them AND apologized for any inconvenience. Staying here convinced my husband and I that we'll upgrade our hotel selections in the future. The good thing about this hotel was its location; very close to Main St. in Ventura with quaint shops and nice restaurants.
