Hotel was very clean and impressive. Great views of P. Ocean. Room was nice but beds were rock hard. Location was probably the best in town because everything was within walking distance and you also were on the beach (although unswimmable). Several hotels were at marina with no beach. Avoid eating and excessive drinking at hotel (expensive). Would have been nice to have all inclusive. Overall completely satisfied with hotel and if I go back to Cabo this is where I would stay. Last note, the time share vultures are ridiculous, the worst I have seen in all of Mexico.

I picked the Finnesterra because I wanted to stay in Cabo San Lucas even though I drove to to San Jose del cabo every day to go surfing. The idea was to be near the restaurants and nightlife. The hotel is great and the service was fine. Food was fine at the pool bar and the Whale Wathcer bar. View from the Whale watcher is awesome. I never ate at the Blue Marlin. Pools are great and the beach is beautiful. They don't stress in their ads that the ocean is too rough to swim in but that is pretty much the case. Hotel faces the Pacific and the beach is steep. Setting of the hotel is in the rocky cliffs and is quite spectacular. Great place for romantic couples or even families. Not much of a singles place. Its a 10 minute walk to town but you can cut through the marina and its quite pleasant. If you want to stay in San Lucas and don't want to be on medano beach, this is a great choice.

This is a great hotel for the price. We would recommend that you get a room in the newer part of the hotel (oceanview) as the older rooms need some renovating. We had some trouble with the air conditioning (leaking water from ceiling) and a leaking shower pipe. We were immediately moved to another room. Besides that, our stay was great! The views (marina side and Pacific beach side) are beautiful. It's in a great location - 10-15 min. walk to the marina and downtown. We thought that the food at the Blue Marlin was excellent and so was the service. We relaxed and took in the sun at all of the three pools.

Overall this hotel is great. The services are great. It's within walking distance from the Marina. The only negative thing is that you cannot swim in the beach. We did not know until we got there. It was a little bit of a hassle having to go to somewhere else to the beach.

The bed was so hard. So if you have trouble sleeping, this is not the place to stay. The shower water was cold. I called to get a wake up call. They never called. Besides that, the hotel was clean. The pools were nice. You could hear the waves break from the hotel room.

Make sure If you get a JR Suite, you get The roomservice and restaraunt foods are all the same, but they were not too bad but dont get the room service pizza, Very bad! The Hotel was great! Its location is close to the city but there is no noise so an easy walk to shopping and foods. We had an eccellent view of the bay and city we could see the dolphins show from our balcony which was prettty fun to watch as well. Other views seemed like they would be nice looking over the ocean. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Finisterra for seven days, July 29th-August 5th. This was our second trip to Cabo. We read several hotel reviews before booking the Finesterra and were glad we did. It is a beautiful resort, and is close to the downtown activities and eateries. The hotel is very well kept and has beautiful views of the ocean. The bed at the hotel is a little hard the first night as others mentioned but it gets better after the first night or so. We upgraded to the newer section of the hotel and I recommend it because the views are much better. We will definitely be returning to this hotel. It is a great hotel for the money.

My husband and I took this trip to relax, and that is exactly what we were able to do at hotel finisterra. The beds are not as hard as people were saying, they placed egg crates on all the beds. The ocean view was beautiful. The food at whale watchers (get the fish taco's!!!), and marlins was great. The pools were one of the best we saw in Cabo.

I travel frequently to Mexico and have stayed at, both, non- and inclusive places. I have to say I was thoroughly impressed with our suite. The ocean view was magnificent and the staff was outstanding. They made up feel like part of their family and quickly met our every need. One of the surprising highlights of the trip was the quality of their food. It was a delight no matter what meal we had there. And since I am vegetarian, usuaslly this is a problem, but my expectations were beyond met. I highly recommend this hotel. The overview simply does not give it justice.

First time to Cabo. Hotel much nicer than expected. Excellent location. Excellent view of marina or ocean. Easy walking to everything! Hotel definitely under-rated! Website doesn't do it justice! One and only complaint-the "lure" to the timeshare presentations are VERY misleading. They do not tell you it is an RCI operation and do not hold to the 75 minutes promised. We were VERY disappointed and frustrated with this experience!

This hotel was great. Somewhat near the center of town or at least walking distance. Seemed very secure, we came back late at night in a taxi and they checked for our room number, made us feel very safe. The room was nice, great view of the ocean. The pool was awesome and the swim up bar outstanding. The Blue Marlin, which is the restaurant just above the hotel had the best food and the best service. Great outside seating. The Whale Watching Bar just up from the Marlin had great drinks and was open pretty late. The hotel itself was quite and relaxing. We would like to make this our regular stay while in Cabo.

We booked this trip online after days and days of looking over all the hotels. This hotel was the one we picked. It was beautiful. The food at the hotel was ok but town was so close it didn't matter. The beds were the only down point of the whole place but we were so relaxed it didn't matter. Ole Ole was fantastic if you like steak and seafood. I would recomend bringing some food and drinks for the room. If you have time try to go to some of the time share things in the morning it is worth it. Don't do the snorkeling because everyone got stung by a jelly-fish when we went and the fish were all the same. I would go back to this hotel every year if I could. My wife and I loved it.

For our first time in Cabo and not really knowing where we would end up, the experience was a good one. The hotel is up on a hill area which faces the Pacific, however; the hotel has its own shuttle until 11 p.m. for those that rather not take the hike, which is a plus after walking all over town. Ocean is not conducive for swimming. Rooms, lobby area, pool were very well kept and clean. Hotel is not in the very center but near the marina which has lot of restaurants and walking distance to the center of the city. A good option and good rates!

The hotel staff was very friendly (front desk, bell boys, activities desk, room service, Palapa restaurant staff, Blue Marlin staff, and Whale Watcher Bar staff. Our room was very clean and we had a million dollar view of the ocean from our balcony. The food and drinks at the Palapa bar were excellent, you must have the calamari, nachos, and steak sandwich. Their happy hour is from 2 - 4 pm and the margaritas are the best in Cabo.

We stayed in the newer section of the hotel and had a beautiful view of the pool area and ocean. The pool area was definitely a highlight. The swim up bar was nice to have, especially during happy hour. There were also very few children at the pools, which made it peaceful. The hotel was within walking distance to downtown Cabo. We walked there at least twice a day. Convenient to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife.

If you are going to stay here I suggest staying in the Palapa section great views, and very convenient to the pool area. the staff is what made this place so wonderful. They will go above and beyond to make your stay more comfortable. It is very convenient to town, just a short walk through the Marina and your surrounded by all the restaurants and clubs. I will definately be staying here again. Although you cannot swim on their beach, it was nice just to walk out their and lay on the beach without being harrassed.

If you are planning on staying at the Finisterra, try and stay in the new part of the hotel. We stayed in the old section (which we called the Back 40)...and kept loosing power..they actually had to switch us rooms to the new section by day 3! The pools were great, as well as the service. The only problem we had when checking in was that our room was not ready (we arrived at 2:00 and did not get our room until about 5:00).

The room was clean, maid service prompt. The staff at the restaurants and pools were wonderful. Location is good if you don't mind walking a little, but it is close enough to downtown to do so. On the downside, can't swim in the ocean here because of the undertow, but the pools are beautiful and not overcrowded

Our stay at the hotel was great, with the only drawback being there were no umbrellas to use by the pool. For us, it was too hot/sunny out to not have an umbrella to use for some shade. I think it is because it can be so windy at the hotel's location. Luckily, it is only a short water taxi ride to the beaches, where there are bars and beach umbrellas galore! We didn't find the beds to be too hard and the location of the hotel is great; just a short walk to town and the marina.

During our trip my husband and I went to the public beach area to rent waverunners and I was even more relieved that we were not staying near the public beach. It was too crowded and there were too many hagglers trying to get you to buy something. The hotel was nice, the staff was friendly and the whalewatcher bar was excellent.
