| A very nice hotel in the best location. Fall out the window and your in the heart of Los Rambles. We stayed in a "family" room which allowed 2 adults, 2 kids. Very nice, upscale. Kind of a designer hotel. If you can afford it, you won't be disappointed.

| Terrific location, friendly service, substantial and tasty breakfast buffet offered in large room with views of Las Ramblas avenue. Rooms, for single occupancy, somewhat small and compact, but adequate. Though advertising air conditioning, the hotel AC system turns on through-out the hotel on a certain date usually May 1st, rather than as needed. So despite the warm weather in late April and lack of air circulation in the room, there was no airconditioning available. Room uncomfortably warm especially at night.

| Small, well-kept hotel; recently updated. Small, but nice rooms overlook Las Ramblas. Double windows keep out street noise, but you can open them to watch the street life below. Room was warm and couldn't adjust to cool it; just opened window (March). Didn't report to management-they probably would have fixed it.

| Hotel Royal is a very nice hotel, the service was great, and the location can't be beat (on La Rambla). Unfortunately the AC didn't seem to be working well in either of the rooms we were given. Some nights were rather uncomfortable. Great hotel, though. Staff was very helpful.

| The hotel was pleasant, the staff helpful, the room in the back was smaller yet quiet, the bar very tiny and not much selection, but adequate. However, most importantly, the location could not have been better. The Ramblas right outside the door was like being front row center to a three ring circus and a mall combined, going well into the evening.

| What can I say about Hotel Royal other than it was great (the staff, rooms, restaurant, and most important the LOCATION). Being on LA RAMBLAS was outstanding and so close to most things to see and do while in Barcelona. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Bring a good pair of walking shoes and go out and enjoy this city of charm, friendly people, romance, and a great night life.

| We stayed at the Royal during the futbol finals and subsequent street celebration recently, and were pleasantly surprised at the lack of disturbance from street noise. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Some drawbacks are poor air conditioning (slow to cool down the room) and the front desk staff's inability to multitask or handle more than one check in at a time. They were very harried, but did maintain a level of professionalism.

| The hotel is nice and clean. The bathrooms are great and shower was very nice. I booked a 3 person room and the third twin bed was very uncomfortable. Like sleeping on springs. Other than that..the location is prime on Las Ramblas.

| Hotel Royal is right on La Rambla, which, while touristy, is extremely central and a great place to stay. It was perfect for first-time visitors and allowed us to get our bearings. We stayed here for five days in January and I would recommend it to anyone. The rooms were nice and clean, and I cannot say enough about the hotel staff. They spoke English and were very helpful, always answering our questions and offering suggestions. If you can, try to get a room overlooking La Rambla. You don't have to worry about the noise (soundproof rooms), and it is so much fun to look out the window and see Barcelona life below. You will not be disappointed with this hotel.

| This hotel is in an excellent location, right on Las Ramblas. We were within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants and bars. Las Ramblas is always buzzing with activity right on the doorstep of the Hotel Royal. Very close to the Gothic Quarter and tour companies which provide excellent tours of the city. The hotel staff were very efficient and courteous and the hotel was very clean. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

| I booked this hotel because it advertised as being soundproofed. Well Room number 105 certainly was not! Besides hearing the traffic of Las Ramblas, we heard everyone in the hotels shower and toilet. There was an almost constant stream of water to be heard in the wall next to the bed!, And to top off that, we heard chairs being dragged across the floor, which was either the lobby or resturant. There was also some renovation being done in the afternoons so a siesta was out of the question!

| Great location. In the heart of it all. The only problem we had was trying to use the room air-con/heating. We failed. Not as simple as it should be.Front desk staff wee efficient, and directed us to some local restaurants that were off the beaten track, but superb.
