We were in town for the Big Race - Bay to Breakers and wanted a place near the start line to be able to walk down in the morning - Perfect! Just a few blocks from the start line and right around the corner from Market Street where there was tons to keep us busy the evening before. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful. Available to assist with anything and able to make suggestions for places you may want to explore. They provide great city maps and 'things to do'books. For a minimal fee,we were able to store our car until after the race and store our bags. The room was very cute and functional and the pillows were the most comfortable ever! No air-con, but who needs it in SF? There is a ceiling fan and windows to let in the nice bay breezes.

I stayed 4 nights at the Mosser for a business meeting at the Moscone Center 1 block away. The staff was very nice, the room small but clean and comfortable. If you don't mind using a toilet across the hall (very clean always, but tiny) and a shower a few more doors down (also clean and big enough), I'd recommend it. I will definitely stay there again.

The location was perfect for our trip. We were two young women traveling alone and felt safe in the neighborhood around the hotel. We were able to walk to many attractions and explore the heart of the city. The room WASN'T large, but it served the purpose of the trip. The staff was helpful and friendly and the room was pretty clean.

The best part of this hotel was where it was located. It is in the middle of everything. We had to do very little walking because it was close to the train station as well as close to lots of touristy and shopping things to do. The room was nice, very clean and modern. My only complaint would be that their definition of a queen size bed and mine are two different things. I went with a friend and we roomed together to save money and believe me, you would have to be pretty cozy with your friend to sleep in a bed that size. Oh, and the elevator CREEPS. Don't take it if you are in a hurry. The stairs are way faster. Overall though, very high quality.

Clean and comfortable hotel right on 4th and Market near the shops. Good area, friendly staff and great price. Shared baths looked very clean and no one was ever using them. Of course the rooms are small..we are in SF so that's to be expected unless you want to pay $$$. Some people were complaining at the front desk about the rooms being so small so if you need a lot of room...this would not be for you. If you are looking to save on your hotel and spend your money on food, drinks and shopping....this would be the place!

As many people noted, the room is tiny. Do not expect to do anything in your room aside from sleep and get dressed. There is no bureau, no desk, just a tiny stool for a chair. Light sleepers may have difficulty coping: You can't get the room completely dark - light from the hall and the window will leak in. (As will city sounds.) But if all you want is a fantastically-located base of operations for being a tourist, it does the job nicely. Staff were very responsive, even allowed me to check in early.

The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. the rooms are small, but the bed is sooooo comfortable. The only downside was that parking cost $25 a day plus tax, but that is about average for parking in that area. The hotel is in a prime location off of 4th and Market. The area feels safe and the shopping is great. My girlfriend and I whole heartedly recommend this hotel.

I still can't believe that a hotel so close to Market street and the shopping district in San Francisco is so inexpensive. The hotel is clean and I felt safe arriving even late at night. The rooms really capture San Francisco, they are small with bay windows overlooking the street below. The windows are double paned which cuts down on the street noise which is nice (and necessary). I thought the staff was very friendly and helpful, in fact, I enjoyed my stay there so much that I booked it again on a follow up trip.

I stayed at the Mosser to be close to the Mascone Center. The Hotel was inexpensive but had high quality service and charm. I was extremely satisfied with both the Hotel and its location. Located one block from the Mascone Center, the historic Trolly turnaround, the Street Car, and the Bart system. The hotel was clean and remodeled beautifully. The bathrooms and showers we outside the room but private, clean, and new, with plenty and no waiting. Loved it. If I go back to San Fran, the Mosser is where I will stay.

Me and my partner are travelling through the US and were a bit skeptical about The Mosser after reading the reviews and just general San Fransisco hotels. After all of the that, we were totally impressed! Beautiful hotel that was super clean and couldn't have been in a better location. Would definitely stay there again! Our tv wasn't working correctly, so we kindly got upgraded to a better room with it's own ensuite. All good!

As many other people mentioned - small rooms but very nice use of space, and modern design. You can find storage for your clothes under the bed (built in shelf). My girlfriend and I had a private bathroom, but the shared bathrooms on our floor (very top - 8th floor) were clean, and didn't seem to be often occupied. We had a full size bed, which was ok, but the space size and comfort level was not high on our priority list. I would probably upgrade to a queen size bed next time just because I saw one room on our floor with such bed, and the whole roome looked bigger with better window view.

This is a suprisingly nice little hotel located a block away from a BART station and the Powell cable car turnaround. As the other reviewers have stated, the rooms are quite small. Since I was a single traveller, this was not a problem. I stayed in a single room with a shared bathroom. The shared bathroom/shower were clean and I never had to wait to use either facility. I'll probably stay here on my next trip to San Francisco. Oh yeah... The organic apples are good...

The Mosser has a very modern flare, clean rooms and nice amenities, yet is extremely well-priced compared to the others in the area. I stayed in a room that has its own bathroom, which was very nice, and stayed for 4 nights. Some rooms don't have their own bathrooms. I saw the shower room in the hall. It looked very clean and nice - it is meant for one person at a time - you go in and lock the door. I wouldn't mind it if I needed to save some money. The room was small, but I liked the cozy feel of it, actually. The space is designed well for being such a small room - there are places to put things. The bed was really comfortable (all cotton sheets w/ high thread count, nice mattress), and there were 2 drawers underneath it where I placed my folded clothes. There were two bathrobes in the bathroom, and a hair dryer, and a CD player/alarm clock. The hotel is in a great location for shopping and restaurants. You have Union square just a couple of blocks North, and the Metreon just one block away which has movie theaters, restaurants, and shops. The hotel is on a noisy street, but the rooms have double windows which dampen it quite a bit (which you can actually open for some air if you want). The only down point was that I tried to call the front desk to have them activate the games on my TV, and they said "I'll call you back in just a minute, ok?" And they never called back. Oh well. I wasn't dying to play video games anyway.

If you looking for lots of creature comforts this probably isn't the hotel for you. For me it's perfect for the price. Yes the room is on the small side, but usually I travel alone, and I don't need a lot of space. The bed was comfortable, the shared bathrooms always available and spotless, so what more could you need. It's just a short two minute walk from the Bart station and close to the cable cars on Market & Powell.

I read the other reviews about the 'european style' lodging that The Mosser offers...and I was a bit worried. But the 'shared shower' and the 'shared toilet' were not an issue for the length of my stay(although the shower had little water pressure). My room at first glance seemed excessively small, yet for just myself it was perfect. Despite the DND sign on the door...housekeeping still entered my room. This I did not like. Nevertheless....The Mosser was a great choice per dollar!

This hotel is great if you do not want to pay for services that you will never use - like a fitness center or room service. The rooms are small, but very comfortable. Everything was very clean - even the shared bath was sparkling and I never saw it in use - and the hotel staff was very helpful. We stayed on the top floor and used the elevator every time and never had to wait more than a minute - there are even dials on every floor so you know it's on the way. My only complaint is that there is not a large closet nor drawers to stash our clothes, so we lived out of the suitcases. But, it had great room amenities (iron, blowdryer, 5-disc stereo, TV) and the location can't be beat!

We (2 people) stayed July 8 at the Moser and had a great experience. The hotel lobby is gorgeous and the rooms were very clean. We stayed in a room with a 'shared bathroom' down the hall and those facilities were also very clean. The only downside is the size of the room and the bathroom facilities...they lean towards the small size. But I don't have a problem with this as I've done a lot of travel through Europe and this is the norm over there. Besides...how much time do you actually spend IN your hotel room awake? Throw in the low price and great location...I'd stay here again.

Our room was so small that it was extremely claustrophobic. The TV and nightstand were both mounted to the bed, overlapping it. It was really hard to stretch out on the bed without kicking the TV. The room was clean enough but there were noticable stains on the bedspread. Also, water leaked out of the ceiling above the shower when the floor above showered. In spite of this, the location is great and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

I just wanted to start my saying the rooms are very small - your bedroom is problably bigger than the whole room! But the rooms are clean, stylish, cheap and it is in a good location. The shared bath/shower are not bad at all. If you are by yourself is good but if you have more than one in your party it is not a good idea to stay here. Overall I had a good stay. Also you should know that parking is available for $30 a night - it's expensive but you just pull in front and they valet the car for you and get it whenever you need it. One last thing at this location is a Movie Theater, plenty of shopping, dining and nightlife.
