| I selected this hotel because of the comparatively low price. The room was very spacious and reminded me of an old fashioned living room with a bed in it. Although the hotel is obviously very old, the room was very clean. I had requested a non-smoking room, but because my husband checked in without me, he didn't remind them at checkin. However, even though it was obviously a smoking room, it was aired out nicely. I would definitely stay here again. To have a kitchenette and spacious room for such a price was really a bargain in New York. The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. Bell Captain loaned me an umbrella to use for a very rainy evening.

| This is a wonderful all suite hotel. The location is near the United Nations and the neighborhood is full of embassies. Fully equiped kitchen with a deli and full grocery store within 2 blocks, but with the nearby excellent restaurants, you may never use the kitchen.

| From the moment we were greeted by the doorman and the rest of the hotel staff, we felt as if we were indeed true 'guests' at the Beekman. Our room was clean, and kept clean, the kitchenette was the perfect size as was the bath and sitting area. My husband and I felt the beds were top notch as far as comfort. For the price, which we felt was a GREAT deal for NY, I don't believe we could have done better. We will absolutely be back again!

| Great room at a great price. We were very satisfied. The rooms are very big and comfy and clean!! View from restaurant was great, however, food selection minimal. Only minor concerns of hotel - somewhat off the beaten track, and a few blocks walk to the subway station. However, this makes the hotel quiter, and one can take the bus, too. Very safe and clean area of the city. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.

| Only downside is distance to nearest subway, but easy to grab cabs from anywhere near the hotel and the walk to the subway is about 10 minutes if you want.

| Located in midtown near the UN, this hotel is only a short (easily available)cab ride from many places, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Our room was extremely clean, quiet, and the staff courteous and professional. A bit pricey but less than the mega luxury chain types. We had a selection of different restaurants close as well in addition to their wonderful lounge on top. We'd definitely return.

| Above average boutique hotel with a great location in midtown Manhattan. Rooms were very average, spacious with separate seating and workspace areas for business travellers. Avoid rooms with two double beds, as it dramatically reduces space to walk around. Closets were very small and restooms were very average. Top of Tower resturant/lounge had great views, but sub-standard service and not recommended for enjoying a simple cocktail.

| The suite was spacious, and the staff was nice. Some areas for caution: there were no ice vending machines, which makes it difficult if you're using the suite to throw a private party. There was also a smoking stench in the non-smoking room. The restaurant/bar upstairs was fun. A semi-decent view of the city.

| This is a gem of a hotel. All rooms are suites with a sitting area, kitchenette and queen bed. The rooms are kept clean and well appointed. There's a nice piano bar on the 26th floor to relax after a day of doing NY. You can walk down First Ave. on a nice day and see many shops, restaurants, etc. The price is better than most others in its class. The major problem is with the heat:TOO MUCH. There's no way to lower the heat and it is terrible sometimes. I don't understand why they don't change it as everyone complains.

| Our room included a tiny kitchen and a sitting room -- luckily for me, as the bed was so hard it felt like a board with a half-inch of padding glued to it. After a few hours, I got up and went to sleep on the loveseat in the sitting area. We also couldn't get the heat to shut off. The bed was so bad I actually stopped by the front desk to ask if there was anything they could do for us, a first for me. I also let them know that the heat wasn't shutting off, thinking it was broken. The clerk stared blankly at me, then picked up a pencil and, making a note, said to me, "Room too warm. Bed too hard. Anything else?" And that was the total response from the Beekman Towers staff. Much as we liked the area, we definitely won't be returning.

| The location of the Beekman towers is good. We had no complains with the staff or cleanliness of our room. The size is good (two rooms)for families. The bad part is there are no controls for heat in the room. Our room was about 95 degrees when it was 50 degrees outside. So we had to open the windows and hear all the traffic on 1st Avenue. I also understand they have no air conditioning in the summer! I don't know how anyone could stay here after May and survive! Needless to say, no one slept well due to the overheating and the outside noise. This was a late booking due to an event we needed to attend.in Dec. and all the usual hotels we stay at were booked. I will not be staying here again in the future. I will go back to the hotels in mid town which are more dependable.
