The hotel is VERY clean and the staff is wonderful. Thr beds are hard, but don't bother you too bad. The beach is the best in cancun. We walked along the beach and most other hotels do not have such a large area to relax. The food is decent but the evening resturant is GREAT and very romantic. The center pool is for kids and games, great swim up bar. The upstairs is 18 and over if you need a break from the kids.

I just came back from Cancun, I surprised my husband for his birthday. We stayed at the Park Royal and I must say it was nice. I have been to other islands and had all inclusives and this was one of the best as far as the drinks and food are concerned. I read all of the reviews before I left and I agree with most, this was a great place for the money. Nice, courteous staff. clean rooms and facilities. The food was good and there was a variety of food, but I agree with one person when they said it was not very authentic. A lot of dishes I did try they were good and there was plenty. The pools were nice and they did have fun activities to enjoy. The only sore spot was the people trying to sell you time shares, they were very adamant and at one point my husband had to get rude with the guy. All in all this place was very nice for the bargain vacation.

The buffet has a good variety of food, but don't expect authentic Mexican food. Both restaurants were very clean, looked new and well staffed. The staff were very friend and effiecent, specially their door man, very friendly and helpful, always happy to see you. The rooms were large and clean. The adult pool had a very beautiful view of the Caribean and it's own bar, not swim up though. The hotel's beach was not crowded like the other hotels we see in the distance. Walking distance to La Isla shopping mall. We were very please with this hotel.

My husband and I visited Park Royal in July 2005. We booked the ambassador suite to find out that the "suite" was nothing but a regular room with a walk-in closet. Although the room was clean & comfortable, you could tell the property was old. The food at the buffet restaurant was good, but had very limited selections and repeated entrees often. The exclusive restaurant was good yet also had limited menu options. The bar drinks were well served and readily available. The pools were small and full of children. The beach was beautiful!!! In summary, I would NOT recommend Park Royal for a honeymoon or romantic getaway. Park Royal is not a resort. It is an average hotel for an economic weekend getaway only.

This hotel is a good choice if you are going to see the sights, not spending a lot of time at your hotel and don't expect to be pampered of have the amenities a lot of American hotels are great for. The inclusive price is fine, but the food and drinks are not worth the extra price. The buffet was less than satisfactory and we found ourselves eating out very often, and believe me I am not picky. Not a big variety, one buffet, one Italian restaurant and a snakck bar with only about four items that were not worth talking about. All drinks are in plastic cups and not a lot of choice alcohols. No bottled beer or water. On a positive note the beach was spectacular and clean and the location of the hotel is one block away from one of the nicest malls where you can get great food and nice shopping. We did a lot of outside activities, so for the price of the hotel it fit us. Would I go back, probably not unless I needed a cheap vacation and I did not care about the pampering-which I do. Not a lot of extras at this hotel but location and beach are nice for the price.

The reason I chose this hotel was because I didn't really know which one to go to. If I go back I would stay at a different hotel. The service was good, but I would just choose something a lot nicer now that I've seen them all. The food they offer was not that great and they use the cheapest liquor they can find on their drinks. If you do choose to stay here, don't buy the all inclusive package. It's better to eat outside of the hotel. It's hard to impress me since I live in Las Vegas. We do have the best of everything here.

Overall, Park Royal was a good place to stay. The positives: It was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was adequate -it wasn't bad but it wasn't outstanding either. The beach area was beautiful. Liked the beach/pool towel service. There is an actual Mayan ruin between Park Royal and the next hotel. Shopping was within walking distance. The negatives: The beds were HARD! It was like trying to sleep on a block of cement. Only one brand of beer was available (yep, Corona). The first 2 days there, we were constantly pressured to come to a 90 minute information orientation (they wanted to sell a time share). Suggestions: Book any tours before you go. Bring small bills (ones, fives and tens) because you may pay in US dollars but you get change back in pesos. The bus is the most economical way to get around at 65 pesos per person and it's an adventure in and of itself!

My husband and I had a fabulous time staying 8 nights at this resort. We noticed the first night the beds were a bit stiff and the pillows were hard as rocks and by the fourth night we were sleeping in separate beds to get a little more comfortable. You can't beat the staff, they were so helpful and eager to please! I can't count how many times I said "gracias" to their amazing folks there. The adult pool was where we hung out since we didn't bring kids. It was BEAUTIFUL with a great view of the Caribbean. The music outside near the pools definitely could have been a bit more upbeat and festive. Say hi to "Mario" at the pool side bar and make sure to give him a big tip!

we all had a great time! My 13 yr old daughter had a blast! The food was great! The desert awesome! The beach front had a lot of room a lot more then other hotels! The ocean water really warm! The only time that a conflict accured was the dress code for the resturant and hte flip flop issues so make sure that men you bring a pair of sneakers n coller shirt and women have a shirts and not beach flip flops but like sandals! My daughters and wife were wearing a pair of old navy flip flops and they had to go back to the room and change their flip flops into other sandals! The pools were great too! They were a little cooler then the ocean but how there is an adult pool were only 13 yr n older can be is great n the younger kids are down below is great nice enjoyable vacation with my family! The whole issues with the bar that another person wrote we really didnt have a problem with! One bar opened at 10:30 am another 11am and another 12pm so really we could survive a few hours without drinks. I found the people in the hotel very nice and always willing to help! A lot had sense of humor so it was just great! We are differently goin' back in the next year or so!! Defenitly would stay there again!

Hotel was nice, food at the buffet was OK but nothing special. The Italian resteraunt was very good, but you need reservations. The beach was very nice and large compared to other hotels in the area. Probably the best selling part for this hotel is the beach and how close by the shopping is(across the street). This was our first time to Cancun and we enjoyed it. We did have to go a whole day without hot water because of renovations that would have been nice to know before we went so check things out before you go.

The hotel is nice. The climate control in the room seems to work well. The beach was gorgeous. The food was very good and the buffets were always hot. There are only a few complaints that we had. First, the activities staff didn't seem to do a good job of having activities going on or properly communicating these activities. In the same vein, the facility could have a game room or games available to check out. We didn't like that you have to be transported 10 minutes away to Aquaworld for the water sports - even the included, free activities like kayaks, windsurfing, etc. The restaurants and hallways are also very noisey because there's no soft material to absorb the sounds - it echoes throughout the place. In the a-la-carte restaurant, the place sounded like there were 100 guests when there were only about 15. The final complaint was that there seemed to be someone working in the offices below our room from about 12:00 midnight to around 1:30 AM. My wife was already asleep, but I wasn't and the hammering that I was hearing was keeping me awake. All-in-all, this was a very nice place and we would have no problem returning if we go back to Cancun again.

This was our first time staying at the Park Royal. We purchased the Presidental Suite all inclusive. The room was suppose to be ocean front but you could barely see the ocean. I called to tell them to fill our mini refig with water, sodas and beer but you had to go to the bar or resturant to get something to drink. The bars didn't open till 11.00am so we had to walk across the street to purchase something to drink to put in our refrig. Over all staff was very friendly, hotel was clean, and I would recommend this hotel to others but be prepared to furnish your own drinks in your room.

The guys working the front desk were rude, slow, and were not helpful unless they know you weren't going to put up with their attitudes. The all-inclusive package was good. If you are going as a couple to relax go to an adults only resort. Their were many high schoolers and little kids running around that made it hard to enjoy yourself. Overall, I would go back if I was going back with children, but until that time we will be staying at 21+ resorts.

This was my third visit to Cancun. The hotel was very clean and the staff was exceptionally friendly. It's a good hotel for adults but not for children. There is no entertainment at night and during the day it was very, very limited entertainment by the pool (trivia and bingo was about it). We couldn't eat at the Italian restuarant because my kids were under 12 years old. The food at the buffet was good and the service was excellent.

I believe it is always hard to find the perfect hotel when shopping via the internet. Most times you see beautiful pictures of the hotel's lobby and bar, but when you get there, your room is a 10x10 shanty. This was definitely not the case with the Park Royal Piramides! This hotel was beautiful and the room (non-oceanview) was spacious. For an extra fee per night, you can even get a room with a jacuzzi! The property is kept sparkling clean every day (they even use a buffer on their brick walkways and bar!). Park Royal Piramides definitely takes pride in their property and staff and it truly shows! One of the many nice amenities was their beautiful beachfront access; complete with your own chair and palm hut umbrella! No need to worry about renting chairs and umbrellas here. Steps away, other hotels close by didn't have the luxury of a nice beachfront. Of the people we met at the hotel, all of them were repeat vacationers and commended me on a great choice in hotels. I will definitely be staying with Park Royal Piramides on my future visits to Cancun!
