| I have been several times in Ixtapa. This was the first time I stayed at this Hotel. The property is great. Advantages from other Hotels: -Private Beach with lifeguard -Great views -Magnifiscent balconies with hammocks and patio furniture Disadvantages: -Need to take cabs to go the Ixtapa area restaurants and shops, other hotels just walk across (3.50USD per ride) -Food quality at restaurants not great

| The service was fantastic throughout our entire stay. Everywhere we went the service was spectacular: beach, pool, resturant, lounge, front desk, etc. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful, while not overbearing. We also really enjoyed the privacy and seclusion of the resort. Granted, it was during the off-season, but we really felt like the place was ours. The private balcony with hammock is great and the private beach is an enormous plus. If you're looking for a great resort experience, with the ability to explore some local culture (Zihuatanejo), Las Brisas is an excellent choice.

| We went to Las Brisas and had a great time! If you're looking for a generic luxery hotel that could just as easily be in Vegas as it could be in Cancun or Cabo, then the Brisas is not for you. If you are looking for a very nice hotel with a distinctly Mexican feel, then the Brisas is for you. Service and sunset views are the best parts of this hotel.

| Distinctively Las Brisas, we were not disappointed with this one in Ixtapa. Built on the slope of a hill, the hotel gives its guests exlusive use of a private beach. The staff bends over backwards to please you. The layout of this hotel is breathtaking. The walkway between the beach on the 10th floor to the pool is protected by a wall and surrounded by beautiful flowers, trees and cacti. All three restaurants (Portofino, Mexicano and Bella Vista) are run by excellent staff who knows how to serve. All the dishes we tried were high quality and expensive. The Mexican was not quite as good as the Portofino, which serves Italian. The pools are very well kept and beautiful. You can enjoy the sound of the ocean, the sight of colorful birds, and swim or sunbathe to your heart's content - all at the same time.

| Pros: Excellent service on Club Level. Entire Hotel staff was very friendly. Cons: Its a very long walk from the hotel rooms to Pool area. The private beach very nice but the waves were too rough to swim. The Hotel is a great place to relax but make sure you take time to explore both cities Z and Ixtapa.

| We have stayed at this hotel many times and still love it. The staff is warm and friendly. We recognize many of the same staff members and they always make us feel welcome. The private beach is beautiful and the vendors aren't allowed. The pool is nice but when it's crowded there aren't enough umbrellas or shady areas. We have been coming to this hotel since 1988 and while we love it, the hotel definitely needs an update. The shag carpeting in the Lobby Bar must go back to the early 80's. The beds are hard, and so are the chairs. The staff told us they were working on updating the hotel and they expect to have some of the changes finished by this fall. Even though the hotel needs an update, the staff is great, and it would be hard to find a better value for relaxing get away.

| We just got home and can't wait to return to LasBrisas. We enjoyed the fabulous view from our balconey and slept with the patio door open every night to hear the ocean waves crashing onto the beach. I loved the fresh flowers in the room every day. The staff was extremely attentive but not pushy. Loved the private beach and the pools. We spent our time between Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. You can walk into Ixtapa but the return walk is harder up the hills. Zihuatanejo is very charming and we found the cultural activities very enjoyable to watch (there were some singing and dancing festivals). The people were very friendly and easy to talk to. This is definitely a vacation to remember and a lovely hotel to return to.

| Las Brisas was absolutely beautiful. The service was wonderful - you feel like you're being waited on througout your visit, and everyone we met on the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good but of course overpriced, and there was not a lot of variety as some of the restaurants on the resort have similar menus. The rooms are not huge but are spacious enough - and the ocean view patios were spectacular - they were huge, with a hammock, chairs and table, and an amazing ocean view. The only hesitation about this resort.....the bed was as hard as a rock! Not kidding. I'd read this in quite a few reviews and thought people were exaggerating but they definitely weren't. The hotel couldn't do anything about it so just prepare yourself for a very very hard mattress. Other than the beds, our stay was wonderful and we would definitely go back again. We're planning on it! One thing to note - when you check out, the bill is a bit confusing as its all broken out by food, beverage and tip and in pesos to boot. Make sure to check all of your charges. And be careful about the tipping too. Sometimes the room service said gratuity was included - sometimes not. We always tipped but have the feeling we didn't need to (the part about the gratuity being included was on a very light stamp on the bottom of the receipt).

| The hotel's swimming pools are the best. The pools were relaxing and the location of the hotel provided quiet seclusion. A short cab ride ($5 U.S.) takes you to "Z" -- excellent restaurants, quaint shops, and a large flea market. The food at the hotel was adequate but not special. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. Many amenities offered but often with an extra charge, such as for internet and coffee in the room.

| My husband and I chose Las Brisas because we were looking for a place to relax and enjoy the beach and we were not disappointed. Las Brisas provides nice rooms with a wonderful view, privacy, excellent service, good food, nice pools and a wonderful private beach. We were extremely happy with the beach and the waves. The service at the pool and beach is good. I would definitely suggest taking some time to go into both Ixtapa and Zihuatenejo just to see what else is around you, but you'll likely want to spend most of your time at Las Brisas. I would not suggest this as a place for people who are looking to go party; relaxation is the theme. The only downside was the food at the resort was a little expensive overall, but the quality is good. Just be prepared for the expense or if you want to cut costs, you can take a quick, cheap cab ride and eat in town or go to the market and get some fruit for breakfast, etc. But overall, Las Brisas is a place we would not hesitate to return to, if we are looking to get away from it all!

| We stayed at this hotel for a little over 8 days and thought it to be incredible! As we rode from the airport, the couple in our shuttle told us that this was their 6 or 7th time staying here and that we had picked the best place to stay in Ixtapa. Service was excellent, the restaurants and food were great, although they were a bit expensive. We ate often at the beach bar and once at La Brisa II for dinner. Both were delicious. Bed was comfortable and the flowers and towel "sculptures" were a delightful surprise. Their could be artwork on the walls in the rooms, but all we had to do to go ahhhh was to spend time on the terrace with the hammock and beautiful views, day OR night. Dining outside the hotel and a trip to Zihuatenejo was within a reasonable cab ride. Zihua was charming. We would definitely stay here again, the location and hospitality were wonderful! This resort is large and spread out and they are quite a few stairs as it sits on a hillside, but you cannot beat the views! Check out the lobby bar nightly for sunsets and happy hour from 6-7pm, it is all open air. The breakfast buffet was a little expensive but extensive and most said that it was worth the price!

| The hotel is architecturally striking. The private beach with crashing waves is breathtaking. However, the landscaping and some elements of the hotel look a little tired. With a bit of "sprucing up" it could be back up to its "glory days" condition. The staff is extremely courteous. The Portofino restaurant in the hotel is good, but go out and enjoy the lovely restaurants in Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa like La Casa Que Canta, Villa de la Selva, Amuleto, and La Cala. Order in room service for breakfast and enjoy it on your balcony. Overall, Las Brisas is a nice place to stay...way better than other Ixtapa hotels. There are a couple of boutique hotels in Zihuatanejo that could trump it, but Las Brisas' beach is UNBEATABLE!

| There is no doubt that Las Brisas has probably seen better days, but overall, we thought it was great. My husband and I travel quite a bit, and have stayed in some absolutely amazing hotels. We weren't expecting "luxe" for Las Brisas, but were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are a decent size, clean, nice bathroom and a great patio with hammock that looks at the ocean. The property is fairly well-maintained, service is good, and the private beach is fantastic. The food was just OK; we ate a lot of the meals at local restaurants. The Lobby Bar was fabulous (in a slightly worn-1980's way) for watching the sunset. We were commenting that if they would update the beauty parlor (not really a spa, just a sad little salon) and the gym (smells like mildew), it would be incredible. We loved Ixtapa, and definitely really liked our hotel. If you are looking for exquisite service and amenities, maybe this isn't the place for you. But if you are going to have fun, and relax and just enjoy the surroundings, Las Brisas is great.
