We were satisfied with the hotel except that on the day of our check out, the key card was deactivated before check out time and before we checked out (leaving me locked out in the hall). We asked to have the card reactivated and no apology was given for the mistake.

Sam's Town is one of Shreveport's best hotels. Matter of fact, I was so impressed I could stay there every weekend. The room was sparkling clean, spacious, and the bed was really comfortabe. However, I do wish the shower had a stronger force of water. I am use to the water being much stronger at my home because that's the way I like it. It was definitely good and hot, but I know they have the water miser in use. Plan your next stay there and you won't be disappointed as I have been with some of the other hotels.

This hotel was clean and comfortable, with a large room and bath and comfortable chairs and bedding. We did not go to the casino section, and we ate only in Smokey Joe's Cafe. The food portions were much too large. Two can easily share an entree. Other than a bit much oil, the food was seasoned well. Most of the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Nice place with plenty of elevators to get you to your room quickly, The check in staff was a bit on the slow side, but once you got through the check-in everything was great. Beautiful spacious rooms. Not much of a view of anything looking out the windows. Easy access to resturants, parking, nightclubs, and casinos.

Sam's Town is always a nice place to stay and the staff is very friendly. Most of the blackjack dealers were nice and the mgr gave us two free buffets. The buffet food is average, but when it's free, you can't complain. There is definitely a lot of variety. Also, the beds are sooooo comfortable and the bathrooms are very large.

Check in started with the friendliest desk clerk we've ever encountered. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was HUGE with a delightful 2 person tub. No whirlpool jets but plenty of hot water. Nice decor touches like draperies behind bed and around tub made us feel royal. The food and gaming in the resturants and casino and bar were great. In fact, when we visited another casino, we lost. We had doubled our money at Sam's Town. An overall wonderful stay with nothing to complain about, except that we had to go home! This review comes from a person who is usually not 100% satisfied with a hotel.

My problem was with the service in the the hotel's own Smokey Joe's Cafe which was recommended to me by the front desk clerk when I checked in at 8:00 and still needed dinner. The food was okay but the service was slow for what appeared to be only me ( the only single woman diner)in an empty restaurant.

The room was overly large, as was the bathroom. The lady was also impressed with the make-up nook. Room service was quick and friendly. Housekeeping was responsive to any need. The front desk was, too. Sound-proofing was impressive. We were on the 16th floor, and never waited more than 15 seconds for an elevator. I have paid three times as much for a hotel room many times inferior. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I will definitely go back.

This probably won't affect most folks that stay in a Hotel/Casino, but there is no hi-speed internet available. Had I been there primarily to gamble, this probably would not be a problem, but I was there on business and this posed a big time problem for me. They also charge for phone calls(although they did comp this when I complained), so if you use dial-up it is slow and it costs you $0.50 per call. Other than that, the room was absolutely spectacular! As is the case with most Hotel/Casino locations, the room was extremely comfortatble; i.e. big, room, and well kept. If the internet thing doesn't bother you, this is an excellent choice.

On both occasions I have stayed at Sam's Town, the staff was friendly, professional and efficient. My wake up calls were always on time, and when items were requested, the response was within 10 minutes. However, the rooms were not as clean as they could have been. Once there dried hot sauce on the sheer curtains, and dried mustard on the couch cushions, not allot, but it was there. Both times it was noticeable that the furniture was not being vacuumed under and the bathroom floors still had ashes, hair, and dust in the corners, that was kind of yucky. Both times there has been a problem with the bath faucet handle falling off and the first time I stayed, the potty became clogged, but a plumber was Johnny on the spot at 3:30 am to fix it. I plan to stay there again. Compared to other hotels in Shreveport, LA it is the Taj Majal.

Due to unforseen circumstances, the reservation had to be changed to another night. That was no problem for the Sam's Town Hotel & Casino staff. Plus some parts for a job were Fed Ex'ed in anticipation of having already checked in. When I wasn't there, they still held the parts for me and were extremely helpful. The overall atmosphere at the hotel was definitely first-class. Any trip to Shreveport from now on will be spent at this hotel.

Room was large, well decorated. Bathroom was great with separate room for toilet, separate dressing table with lighted mirror, granite counter tops, large tub. Plush towels. Feather pillows on bed. Well worth the price. Ate breakfast at the Smokey joe cafe...food and service were both good. Didnt do the buffet. Casino not as nice as the room. Low ceiling, smokey, slow elevators, no escalator. Couldnt get my comp card to work in the machines most of the time. Definitely gamble at the Horseshoe but dont hesitate to stay at the hotel.
