We liked this hotel. The beach is nto worth staying on as Kanapali is 3 miles away and much better. If you can afford to stay on Kannapali beach, then this is the next best thing.

This was our first trip to Hawaii. We stayed in the studio apartment and had an awesome view of the ocean. The apartment was very clean and we had housekeeping services every day. The office staff was also very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back!!

This condo resort hotel did what I needed it to do. The rooms were clean, but the hotel looked like it could use some remodeling or renovations. Also, no sandy beach to enjoy here, so you have to travel to public beaches.

The hotel was great and well worth it. My husband and I loved it, especially because it made it feel like home. Also, having a kitchen was great because buying food is sooooo expensive. If you dont know how to cook, start taking a beginners class to save money when visiting Maui.

We were pleased with the extra touches in the room...books, CDs, stereo, DVD player. There were many whales to watch(we were there in January) so bring binoculars. Pool is kept comfortably warm. The snorkeling, however, in front of the property is not so good. No waves for boogie boarding either. The staff is friendly and the Expedia rep is helpful in planning your activities and saving $$. The room is a comfortable size for a family of four.(we rented a one bedroom) Great beaches can be found in every direction for every interest. McDonalds on the corner. Just a great place to unwind.

We loved the condo...hated to leave. Our units was just like living in a home, only you are 40' from the surf. The units are quite, clean, and comfortable. This is not a hotel. There is no restaurant and no bell service. But, you have privacy and a very comfortable place to stay. You will find the pool area clean, and we had no kids screaming "Marco - polo". The condo is situated very closed to a small strip mall, excellent restaurants, and right on ocean. The views are spectacular. Sunsets are to die for and every ocean view room has a lanai to enjoy meals and beverages. The units include a full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living and dining room. The maid service was quick and painless. We are looking to go back and enjoy snorkeling, walking on the beach, and swimming in the warm Pacific ocean.

Overall my wife and I were very satisfied with this hotel. Our only minor complaints were that the bed was not really comfortable (although it wasn't too bad) and the hotel staff were not overly attentive, although again they weren't bad, just nothing special. The hotel is in a great location close to many activities. The activity coordinator we dealt with was extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is a great value for the money you are paying. If you are looking for something upscale and a hotel which has restaurants, gift shops, etc. then this isn't the place for you. However if you are looking for something comfortable, close to activities and reasonably priced then this is a great hotel.

Very nice; not glitzy or overdone, but very comfortable. Location is OK, it's in a very nice area, but at times felt like it was a little too far north for access to South and Upper Maui. Very clean common areas. They literally scrub down the pool every morning! Staff is OK, not great.

Very nice place. Not in the middle of all of the action, but only a short drive to Lahaina. Very clean, and the staff seemed to always aim to please. We loved to be3 able to sleep with the door open and hear the ocean waves in the background. We would definitely return here if we had not purchased a timeshare in Kona.

We really enjoyed staying at Royal Kahana. I didn't expect much from a 2.5 star hotel, but I was very pleasantly impressed. We had a one bedroom ocean front room, and it was very spacious and comfortably set up. The view was unbelievable! Whether you're there for a short stay or a long one, the room should suffice! (Also, for those of you who don't like bugs, we didn't see any at the hotel :).

We stayed in the 2 Bedroom suite, and on 2 occasions, saw small roach like bugs. The beds and pillows are very very uncomfortable. Slept awfully. Front desk is only available 8-5, so after hours, no help is available. Walls are pretty thin, so we could hear other rooms just talking. For the positives? - The view is amazing, and we could hear the ocean waves at night. The Thursday night Mai-Tai party was great, and parking is ample. Elevators are pretty quick. Great pool and beach access. Overall, if they would address the bed/pillow situation (I can't stress enough how awful the beds are!!!), and get rid of the bugs, I would gladly go back.

This front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The amenities - fitness room, pool, tennis court - were well-kept and useful. Each room has a balcony overlooking the ocean or pool, and the beach is just outside your door. The sunsets were amazing night after night. We'd cook on the community gas grills and take a walk after our meal. EXQUISITE!

We stayed here in Oct 2004 for our honeymoon. We had a studio ocean view and were impressed with the huge size of the room, as well as having a full kitchen and laundry room. I would recommend this place completely... ask for one of the higher floors. We had a fabulous view of Molokai and loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the surf right outside the door. This hotel is right on the beach, but Kahana Beach isn't one of the best for swimming or snorkeling, so make sure you have a rental car to drive to many of the other close and better beaches. Overall we were treated very well by this resort and would recommend it to anyone. It was very clean and well operated by the staff.

Stayed in the one bedroom ocean view --It was great. Right on the beach with a view of Moloki and the coast. The staff was super helpful with tips and advice. The hotel is not new but is very well maintained. Many restaurants are located within walking distance ( < 1/2 mile ).The pool is not fancy, but is very nice and lounge chairs are plentiful. If you don't need a hotel on a golf course and don't need an ostentatious lobby and overpriced restaurants on site ,I can't recommend the Royal Kahana high enough. Having breakfast in our room with the beach below and a view of the coast and other Islands at sunrise -- definitely going back.We found the location convenient for all our activities.

The location of our condo/room was wonderful. We had a partial ocean view and it felt like we had a full ocean view. The room was clean, but needs some updating. Even though the room was nice and roomy, it was not very child friendly, cords were exposed and knives in the kitchen were placed in a drawer close to the floor. The condo's staff was very friendly. The pool/beach area was very nice. If you are looking for a decent place to stay at a low price, I would recommend this condo. If you are parents of young children, come prepared to child-proof the room.
