The service is extremely attentive, food is somewhat expensive considering all the wonderful restaurants very close by. Rooms are super-clean and all requests are cheerfully and promptly fulfilled. The only complaint from a weeklong stay, including a room change to accomodate the kids, is some problems with the televisions and remote controls. I believe both issues were caused by previous guests as I don't imagine the hotel would damage their own equipment... Both times, maintenance was taken care of promptly! One word of caution however, this hotel has no access ramps. And a flight of stairs at the entrance. With two small children in strollers, this was a minor annoyance everytime we came in or out. For those travelling with a wheelchair, this could be a major issue.

The Galeria Plaza has an excellent location and provides good value for the money. But it came with a major frustration for me as a business traveller. The hotel purports to offer wireless Internet access and charges a whopping 200 pesos a day (close to $20) for the privilege. But my experience was that the signal was so weak that it frequently did not work properly. One night I was so frustrated that I dragged my computer to the lobby to try to get online. When I complained, the hotel staff simply shrugged and admitted it was a problem but had no resolution and offered no refund. The hotel is clean and well-maintained but the beds could stand replacement and the decor is a bit tired.

The hotel itself is fairly nice, although it felt a bit uninviting in the smallish lobby area, as there are few places to just sit and while away time. But... it is clean and fairly nice. Contrary to what we had read previously, we found that very few of the hotel staff speak English adequately to communicate as well as MAY be necessary. Mind you, most staff have some English skills, but any question or problem you might have that is even a little complex will require that you speak/understand Spanish. This is not normally much of an issue, especially if you maintain a sense of humor, but it can be frustrating at times. The staff are very pleasant. Very friendly. Our room (business class) had a very poor view of other, less nice, buildings nearby, but was fairly comfortable and well maintained while we were there. Our bed was just a little too hard and so was the pillow - but not too bad. (You WILL sleep well after a long day walking about!). Be sure to explore the National Museum of Anthropology: WOW! This is one of the finest museums I have seen in all my travels, with wonderful presentations of the various cultures that have made Mexico what it is today. One piece of advice: the Audio Guide is generally worth its low price, but if you can read Spanish, you will get much more from each exhibit by simply reading the signs. :-)

Although the location can be a little marginal, the hotel was a great value when compared with others in Mexico City. I have stayed in six different places in the past six month and the Galleria rates as one of the best values. The room was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. The roof top pool was a nice escape from the busy streets of Mexico City.

The feeling of security is the best way to describe the location of this hotel. Walked the streets at all hours of the night just sight seeing and never felt threatened. The staff called me by name during my entire stay. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mexico City. Great Italian resturant nearby. The staff was very helpful and English was spoken by many of the staff.

Hotel and rooms were updated, modern, and clean. Caters to the business traveler with nice amenities. Quiet in comparison to hotels on Ave Reforma. Hotel is centrally located between two significant points of interests, the Zocalo and Chapultepec, right off the golden Angel of Independence roundabout. Very convenient.

Nice, clean rooms, mine had excellent view of the statue of Angel a prominent landmark. Good service. Hotel taxis highly recommended, English speaking drivers, who readily serve as tour guides with good prices and lots of information. Rooms medium size, bright, beds are very comfortable. Concierge was very helpful. Only negativ: the rooms can be somewhat noisy if the neighbours don't tone down the TV or loud.

The hotel staff and maid service is excellent. Especially on the executive floor. The hotel caters to American travelers more than other Mexico City hotels I have stayed. However, the service in the restaurant is definitely less than adequate. Very slow, unattentive waiters who stand around talking rather than serve the customers. I recommend going to the wine restaurant on the bottom floor, which is technically part of the hotel, for great service and food.

We had a short 2 night stay with my inlaws in Feb. The hotel was very accomadating ... finding us rooms within a few doors of each other. Free espresso machine next to 6th floor elevator (our room floor) and coffee machine in the room was nice. Only criticism was a strong "new varnish" sort of smell in the hall near the elevators that came from somewhere at times. The concierge was right on with dining recommendations within walking distance and made reservations for us. He also recommended a private guide for a tour which really turned out to be great as my mother-in-law would have had difficulty keeping up with the speed of a normal tour. I didn't use them, but did tour the rooftop which had a pool, a "swim in place" exercise pool and an adequate exercise room.I thought breakfast in the hotel was great. Would recommend dinner outside the hotel for a better experience.Overall a great experiance for the price.

I know the hotel for many years. The quality has been going down. The rooms do not have internet connection only dial up if you have a local internet provider. There are 4 computers available in the business center but the maintenance of the machine is very poor. I sent my clothings to the laundry and all 2 times my clothings were given to other guests. The breakfast is very expensive. Infact a cup a serial with banana and a juce cost more around $12.
