| This was an excellent hotel. The restaurant and room service were very good. Great service. It was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I would very highly recommend it. There are not a lot of good options for nice hotels in the area, but this one was really outstanding. Free self parking. I don't like to pay $9.99 for 24 hours of internet service, but this is a small detail.

| All Sofitels have the same beds and this one is no exception--but the beds are exceptional, down, crisp white cotton, huge and wonderful like a cloud. The hotel has a very nice outdoor pool overlooking the lagoon, which is nice for swimming or just laying around in the ever present Redwood City sun. The staff are mostly very nice, we had room service each morning, turn down service in the evening, etc. Room cleaing was well done. The carpet in the room had some pieces of perhaps candy that someone had dropped on the carpet, and, no one had done enough to remove. I did more with a wet washcloth than the cleaning crew had done. One staff member in the small store on the main level had a real attitude problem to the point where people were talking about it--but rest of staff great. We ate dinner twice in the restaurant downstairs and had excellent food and service. Bathroom high acceptable but not fantastic, and, such a nice hotel especially in California should have better bath products but they were pretty standard. All in all, this was a very comfortable hotel bordering on luxurious when it comes to the bed, and, my friend and I had a super and relaxing time. Getting into San Francisco is easy from the hotel as well, it's a short hop so if you're thinking this is too far away, you'd be wrong. Have a great time!

| The Sofitel in Redwood City was a very special place to stay. The room was absolutely grand and the people were very friendly and helpful. I was on a leisure trip, but the Sofitel would be a super place for any type of business occasion too.

| My wife and I spend a four day weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. Room was clean and nicely furnished. Westward facing view provided for some spectacular over the water sunsets. Great restaurant. Had lunch with friends from San Francisco who all ordered the Mahi-Mahi and were very impressed with quality of food and service. Evening bed turndown with fresh orchids added a nice touch. Doormen were exceptional. Very friendly, courteous and efficient. Had the best Bloody Mary since arriving in California. evening bed turndown with fresh orchids added a nice touch.

| Although my particular room was obviously an older model without typical modern upgrades, the beautiful, quality appointments and accoutrement gave it an upscale look and a luxurious feel. The bed and linens alone, were not only inviting, but steeped in comfort and quality. Cleanliness, atmosphere, attention and detail are of utmost importance, obviously. The lounge, restaurant, boutique/bakery/coffee stop are not only inviting and appealing to the eye, but stock only the best, and the staff, in every realm, treat everyone as royalty. The immediate view is somewhat strange at first since the hotel is in a business "park," but the adjacent lagoon (which the 24-hour pool overlooks), views of the San Mateo Bridge and the Bay on one side, and the hills on the other, make for a breathtaking experience. The close proximity of the hotel to all things nearby make it an ideal, classy, yet affordable respite for vacationers, tourists, business persons, or those looking just to escape for a night or two. I will return over and over again.

| The Sofitel is a great hotel to stay at when on a business trip because it is beautifully appointed and the whole atmosphere is one of calm and relaxation, especially the guest rooms. Service is exceptional and the bar and restaurant remind one of what you would encounter in a large European city.

| This Sofitel was exactly what you would expect from the chain. The service was fantastic--from check in, to maintenance (the blow dryer burned out and we had someone in housekeeping install a new one immediately). We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was exceptional. Went to the market for a dessert--they have a great selection and are VERY good!! Because of our great dinner experience we decided to have breakfast. Breakfast was as delicious as dinner. The French coffee a treat!! The overall experience was wonderful and the Expedia rate reasonable for a four star hotel. The hotel was only about 20 minutes from the airport with light traffic.

| This hotel looks really uptown, however, we found it to be cold and lacking in many amenities. The restaurant was overpriced and the service and the food was marginal at best. You have to request a coffee maker for your room. The room was small. While adequate, the pillows were good, however the shower head was positioned too high for my taste. I would not stay at this hotel again. It may be French, but something is lost in the translation here.

| This hotel was so much nicer than we expected for the price. The price for a weekend stay was unbelievable considering fow very luxurious and elegant the hotel is. And the bar and restaurants were fantastic. It seems kind of out of the way, but it is only a few miles from downtown Redwood City and a cab was a good (and affordable) choice. Stop by the Fox Theatre and the Little Fox bar for a great evening -- we are definitely going back.

| ALthough the staff was very courteous and helpful, I would not stay here again. Where many of the chain motels offer free internet service to their guests, Sofitel charges a $5 connection fee(connecting their computer to the internet) and a dollar a minute thereafter. Cheap. Also, the room we stayed in didn't have a bathroom fan, a balcony or a window that could be opened for fresh air. The service in the restaurant for lunch was poor. The hotel and rooms are clean and well-decorated, with nice toiletries. The concierge and doormen are exceedingly polite, as are all the personnel.

| This was our first time travel with our 11 months old baby. As first time parents we were unexperienced about traveling with baby. When we checked in they saw our baby with us but didn't ask us if we need any baby equipment such as crib or changing table (those are available in the hotel). We assumed that we would have to let the baby co-sleep with us. Thankfully my sister came to visit us and told us the that we could ask for a crib. The service could be more senstive and actively especially for parents with babies.

| Sofitel was a great Hotel. Service was friendly, and even though I waited about 5 minutes to be checked in since the receptionist was on the phone she gave me complimentary drink tickets for the bar which was nice. The rooms were very comfortable, a down comforter which gets the duvet replaced daily, and and overall luxurious bed. Nice bathroom and amenities. However, for being located in Silicon Valley, the heart of the technology world you would think they would have Internet Service for free. It costs $9.95 to have it in you room - pretty crazy since the hotel is located in a major business district and Oracle being right down the street. Overall, a nice place to stay though.
