Our recent stay in Maui included the very nice condos at The Whaler. The rooms are clean & spacious, and right on the beach. We had a garden view, and a simple walk down the hallway, and we were on the beach. With shopping & restaurants right there...you don't have to go anywhere else while you stay in Lahaina. I highly recommend The Whaler, except when I am going again next year....don't want it to be to crowed you know.

We enjoyed the Whaler. In the heart of the resorts it is an oasis of sorts. Nice people accomodating and friendly. Having the kitchen and laundry facilities is a major plus. Some rooms are a noisy. The elevators were finicky but all in all a nice place.

Very convenient location, right next to the Whaler Villege shopping Mall, good resturants nearby, good and inexpensive public transportations to go to other areas. Will go back again.

The service at the Whaler was excellent. When we go back the Whaler on Kaanapali Beach will be our first choice for hotel accomodations. The location was close to shops, the beach and resturants. We are already talking about coming back.

The Whaler was roomy and affordable. It was very nice for an older hotel. The ocean view could have been better from our room, but the grounds were just beautiful. If you're a pool person, their pools were a little small, but who needs a pool when you have the ocean right outside your door.

This 30 something condo is located in the heart of Kaanapali. Short walking distance to the shopping and restaurants at Whalers Village and located on one of the best beaches in the world. Snorkeling at Black Rock is one of the best I have encountered. The rooms all have decks with great views. It was fully stocked with cooking utensils so we ate many meals there. We had a studio but it was large with a large bath and convenient laundry. Would definitely stay here again.

I think the Whaler has one of the best locations on Kaanapali beach, both with respect to beachfront and surrounding restaurants/activities. My family of 4 also really appreciated the large rooms. Our 1 BR/2 bath oceanfront unit had a huge balcony and an unbelievable view, both of which we enjoyed to the max. For us, these features made up for the fact that the Whaler is aging a bit. Our kitchen was quite modern--but our bathrooms were not! Also, when you check in they give you a warning flyer about the garage that describes problems with water seepage and falling rocks. Hopefully they will do the renovations they need to do before it's too late, as this is a beautiful property that deserves to be salvaged.

We really enjoyed staying at The Whaler. It's in a great location, has a perfect beach area and the condo amenities are very nice. We especially enjoyed the BBQ area. It is next to Whalers Village which offers shopping and dining, and is just a 5 minute drive to downtown Lahaina which has a very cool downtown. We will stay at The Whaler the next time we visit Maui.

Here you get condo amenities (kitchen, laundry access) with hotel service (daily maid service, towels at the beach/pool). It was great. The only thing it didn't have was a bar/restaurant, but who cares when you're in the middle of a strip of hotels and restaurants. The beach near the Whaler is the best stretch in the entire area. Very near the Black Rock, which has great snorkeling, and it was great to be next to Whalers Village and all the amenities there.

The only bad thing I can say about this hotel is that it is next to the Hula Grill and the smell and the smoke can sometimes be annoying. Our room was right next door. The room was very pleasant and comfortable. We especially like having 2 full baths. It was a great spot and lots of things to do around.

This condo-hotel gives you ALL of the amenities of a luxury beachfront condo with friendly hotel services staff. Our 1-bedroom, 2 bath unit overlooked the water and mountains. The location is perfect, far enough from the mega hotels down the street. Restaurants and shopping were abundant but not overwhelming. Comfortable to a four-star level without the expensive price tag. Great job Whaler!

We will definitely stay at The Whaler on any future trip to Maui. It was quiet, relaxing, clean, and we had a wonderful view of the ocean. The shopping center next door was a very convenient place to pick up drinks and snacks or to just walk around and browse. The pool was quite crowded, so we didn't spend any time there.

The Whaler was great. We upgraded to a one bedroom, ocean view room and were GLAD we did it. It was HUGE!! The kitchen had everything we needed. The maid service was great, and while it didn't have room service, everything we needed was right next door at the Whaler Village. We highly recommend this condo-tel for anyone wanting to save a little money withoug compromising.
