Hotel staff upgraded us for free to a suite (because we arrived late and our room had been taken). The suite was large, clean, and very comfortable. Room service was great. Food from the different restaurants was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of shops. The only downside is you have to walk through part of the casino to get to the elevators and restaurants and it is smokey. Would go back though!

Harrah's is a wonderful hotel, but if you're not a celebrity or a high roller, be prepard to be treated as a second class citizen. We arrived at the hotel at 3:30, but we had to wait nearly four hours for our room because a celebrity function was taking place, and many of the participants hadn't vacated their rooms. Not acceptable. When I pay for a room and reservation, I expect my money to be just as good as an athlete's or an entertainer's.

We arrived at the hotel at 7pm, after driving for 8 hours to get there. We were ready to get into our room and relax- not the case. Our room was not ready for 3 hours later! They were fixing the air conditioner, and only had smoking rooms left. Besides apologizing a bunch, the only other things they offered was to check back every 20 minutes, and gave us a $30 credit- Wow! Considering the price we paid for the rooms for 3 nights, $30 was not worth our time. We also tried for 2 nights to get pay per view movies in our room and it was never available, and were once again told to check every 20 minutes! Not sure we'd stay here again or refer anyone.

Having visited Tahoe many times we had never stayed at Harrah's and were very, very pleased with the accommodations. The room was huge. Nice and clean, comfortable and spacious. Air flow from fan was OK could have been a bit more. Visited on July 5 and felt the holiday impact as room service had no desserts available at all -- midnight snack was not to be! Otherwise, wonderful accommodations and would definitely seek reservations here again.

The hotel was excellent. The only criticism we have at all is the food in the casino food court area. It was of very poor quality, and also overpriced. The breakfast buffet in the hotel was excellent in both quality, selection, service and price. The room was very large and the (2) marble bathrooms was an unexpected surprise.

We got there early and the type of room we requested was not ready so we checked into a different one because we were so tired--they let us switch rooms the next day with no problems. The room had a beautiful view and was very comfortable. Rooms do not have coffeemakers or refrigerators which kind of stinks because you can never save any of your leftovers from restaurants. All the restaurants in the hotel were pricey for breakfast and lunch but the hotels staff was more than willing to recommend affordable alternatives outside the hotel! Overall excellent service.

Harrah's was very well maintained for a seemingly older hotel. The 2 bathrooms were just great! Not enough cocktail waitresses as we usually had to wait for drinks while gambling. Being from the midwest things were very expensive!! My wife and I figured most things were about 30% higher than we were used to.

Overall Harrah's is a decent place to stay in South Lake Tahoe. The casino is decent and the drink service is not bad. The rooms are large and bright and the two bathrooms (each with a TV) make things very convenient. There are a couple negatives with the hotel. The pool area is lacking in sufficient deck chairs and the two hot tubs are not very hot. The fast food restraunts are a step down from the previous North Beach Deli.

After 15 years of marriage my husband and I took a well deserved honeymoon. Harrah's was AWESOME. Loved the two bathrooms and with TV's, WOW. The restaurants were great. Loved the doorbells! Though the crowds were up and about all night, we were not disturded with the soundproof walls. Had a great view of the lake. We loved it! The ONLY bad part of the entire week was the fact that it did not snow until the day before we left for home. Had to go all the way to Mammoth to ski. Anyway, we would love to go back someday.

I stayed at the Harrah's Hotel Lake Tahoe for one night this past weekend. I loved my room. Beautiful partial view of Lake Tahoe out my window. Two bathrooms were wonderful, but I was alone so one was just fine. A TV in the bathroom was fun. There were also four phones in the room. The only part of the room that was a problem was that the tub did not drain and I had to stand in water up to my ankles. I would stay here again.

Lake Tahoe isn't a particularly cheap vacation spot and Harrah's isn't a particularly cheap hotel/casino. It is quite elegant, however, in a laid back way and seems to be relatively new. The pool is extra nice and besides gambling, there are lots of places right at or near the hotel where you can play and eat & drink. Rooms are nice but the marble floors kept it rather chilly. We really missed having a mini-fridge and in-room coffee maker! Hey! Starbucks got a lot of business from us that week but it should've been our option in a room that expensive. Coffee in the a.m. and hot tea in the p.m. adds up quickly at Starbucks prices. Anyway, Harrah's and Harvey's next door offer a vacation-worthy experience overall.

Location was supurb, within walking distance of everything. We stayed on the 17th floor, elevators were swift and never a wait of more than a few minutes. Lovely views of mountains and the lake from angled windows in the room. Really enjoyed having 2 full baths available, helpful when getting ready to attend a wedding. Others staying in different hotels were jealous of that alone!!! Food was excellent, lines moved quickly. Staff friendly and accomodating.

Everything about our experience with the hotel was "Meh!" It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination and we had a GREAT time in Lake Tahoe. The room was really nice and comfy and the two bathrooms were both nice and totally made getting ready in the morning easier. The casino was a lot of fun too. However, that said, nothing about the service was spectacular. The check in/check out process was quiet but not particularly warm and inviting. The consierge was helpful when we asked specifically but didn't seem to care one way or another if we needed help booking/choosing activities. If I were to go back to Lake Tahoe (and I definitely will be) I wouldn't stay in Harrah's but I would definitely go back for the shows and the casino.
