Hotel was very nice and clean. Our daughter loved the beach and the pool with the water slide. Food is on the expensive side. I recommend getting the breakfast plan especially if you have children.

Didn't have the room we requested when we checked in and had to settle for 2 doubles instead of the king n/s. People were rude there. Definitely not 5 stars. Way, way overpriced food and very slow service. However, this is a common theme on the island. Hotel could not handle the rush of people for the holiday weekend.

We just got back from our trip to the Fairmont Southampton and we are suffering from beach and Sinky Bay withdrawal. The beach is the best we have been to, and Sinky Bay's are our favorite frozen tropical mixed drink in Bermuda. The service was great, the food was great, and the location beat em all! We cannot wait to go back. Love every bit of it, book it!

The Fairmont Southampton was the perfect retreat from our hectic lives for a post-poned honeymoon! The ocean-view room afforded us a gorgoeus panoramic look at the ocean and south side of the island and golf course and sitting on the balcony with a lovely ocean breeze was the perfect end to every evening. Hotel was beautifully maintained inside and out. The restaurants served quality foods however the service was a wee bit slow...but not too slow to keep us away! I'm sure we'll be back again soon!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in June of 2006. Overall we had an enjoyable experience, but be warned, the food and drinks are EXTREMELY expensive. My two main complaints were that breakfast is only offered at one restaurant buffet style at a cost of $25 per person and a large bottle of water sold at the private beach cost over $10. It felt like a rip-off for no good reason, considering the price of the room to begin with.

Don't expect much from the rooms, they need a lot of updating. Extra money spent for the harborview room was a waste unless you had binoculars and hung over the railing to see it. Service and beach were great, however.

This hotel is the best on the whole island. it is not for the budget traveler. it is expensive but it is elegant and polished. it is also conservative. the service here is great, they are very friendly and courteous no matter who you are. the maid service however is a bit annoying because they start at 9am and start knocking on everybody's door for housekeeping. if i came back to bermuda (not in april though because it was rainy and cool), i would definitely stay here again. the private beach is beautiful and very convenient to get to, you can walk across to elbow beach. This is a great place to stay!

This is a large, noisy hotel but the amazing location makes uo for these defects. It is a 15 min walk to Horseshoe Bay Beach and a 20 min walk to the Gibb's Hill Light House. The private hotel beach is right next to Horseshoe Bay and is accessible by hotel trolly or again by walking. This is a protected beach and great for swimming. The spa and pools are great with fantastic ocean views, the rooms are mediocre. My room, although a Fairmont, had a partially obstructed view of the bay. It was also very noisy, especially in the morning from hall traffic and housekeeping banging on doors. The service was variable. The front desk was perfunctory but the people at the concierge desk were helpful and warmly friendly. Because of the amenities and location, I would probably stay here again.

Nice hotel. Great location. Free boat rides to Hamilton several times a day. Nice beach. Staff friendly and helpful. Only complaints: the outdoor hot tubs were not working, food is expensive, one evening they discouraged in-room dining as it would take at least 2 hours.

We are definitely going back and will bring the kids next time too---maybe hahaha! You can either go for a quiet getaway or bring the kids. GOLF was great (the hotel has their own PAR 3 golf course)and the SPA was relaxing! I highly recommend this vacation HOT spot! You will be satisfied.

The hotel itself is perfect - 4 1/2 stars are really justified! The beach can be reached by a short footwalk down the hill or by trolley, but the trolley is very convenient and goes almost every five minutes. The beach is awesome and has a diving rental, a restaurant and a self service restaurant with a bar. The guests at the beach are mostly behaving appropriately to the standard of the hotel, but sometimes you will experience the usual shouting testosterone junkies. For breakfast get your complimentary coffee outside of the Windows (breakfast room), because at the breakfast buffet the same coffee/tee and the offered special drink of the day are not included. Whaler Inn and Waterlot Inn - high prices, average quality. Alternatives: Bacci - fair priced. Cabanas on the beach = very ok. Tio Pepe - expensive but has a more natural feel. Island Cuisine (taxi) is where the locals go. Jamaica is a cook shack for locals (take out). The hotel bar has great food and drinks.

We stayed at the Fairmont and loved it. Service was outstanding. You MUST try the 2 hotel restaurants - ***** food and service. Shops in the hotel were wonderful with name labels such as Polo and Lilly. Great selections - wonderful beaches and private. Don't bother with the public beaches the Fairmont's is much much more private and beautiful. Do your fellow guests a favor - leave your kids at home. Bermuda is a couples paradise not family vacation go to Disney for that. Only complaint is so many business groups there. They are everywhere. Next time we go we will stay at a smaller luxury hotel to avoid "groups"

This hotel was so disappointing. We couldn't check in until after 5 p.m. because of late checkouts. There were no concessions made at all. The bathtub didn't work and the shower was pitiful. The service at the hotel was generally very poor because Bermuda requires 15% gratuity automatically added. So what's the incentive for a service person to go above and beyond to make more of a tip - nothing!

Southampton Princess is a very nice hotel, but is not a four and half star hotel. The rooms are well appointed, but somewhat dated. The prices are very high with limited dining selections nearby. The beach area is nice, but requires a trolley ride down to beach and tennis area. The trolley would be OK, but schedule was erratic and not predictaable.

We enjoyed our stay, we travelled during the off-season, so it was slow, not too many other guests and quiet (except for the school group that checked in on Saturday night -security quieted them down.) We loved the free jazz entertainment nightly in the Jasmine Lounge. We had dinner and dessert there several times. We loved Bacci's, another hotel restaurant. We found meals were very reasonable and the food quite good. Service was good, not great. We think that with the 15% automatic gratuity, a lot of folks on the island are not inspired to excellent service. Do not order room service -- too expensive-- a $2.50 per person in room charge plus 15% gratuity is charged-- Just go down to Jasmine Lounge. Beautiful property, great for golf, shuttle bus to nearby beach. Nice shops, pricey. Ocean views abound. Lovely lobby. Jasmine Lounge with its sofas and cozy tables became our living room -- bright and sunny by day and candle light by night. Very enjoyable stay.
